OKay, if that’s not Mario in Donkey Kong, who do you sugest it is!?

I thought this episode went to fast, from pre-NES to mentioning the 360, without even bringing up the SNES or N64… they’re getting ahead of themselves.

where where RTS games?
No amiga? how could you skip the C64?

Ok, the show made for some nice memories, but as a whole i felt it was extremely incoherent, and messy.

they almost completely missed the 16bit era after the NES they go from the megadrive/genesis to psone to x360… terrible

I think they’ll cover more eras of gaming because there’s still 4 more episodes to go IIRC. S01E02 was mostly wanted to explain the inclusion of storyline into games and them becoming more movie-like. I’m sure other episodes will focus more on stuff like genres etc.

Being so slanted towards Sony, I wonder if they will mention the MSX ?

What would be nice is if they concentrated on the era when one or two people could write a game and make a success of it. It would be nice to see indepth conversations with the ‘heroes’ of video gaming and what they remember of those times. But then again that covers soooo many people.

They should just do a 6 episode series covering the 70’s. Then do a 2nd series covering the 80’s and a 3rd one covering the 90’s. By then is was all corporate image and no indaviduality.

Trouble is they are concentrating on the video game characters more (Pacman, Mario, Lara croft)…jeez….they arn’t real people !! Nowdays no one knows the names behind the games (exception John romero).

Another thing they missed is the Sinclair Spectrum! That little gem was a gamers wet dream at the time.

Remember the Hobbit on the Spectrum? Pretty advanced command parser for its time, never seen another one quite like it since. But yeah I think it was mostly big in EU and Oz.

The Atari ST was probably the first “home computer” used for professional stuff… it had MIDI built in, and many muso’s used it for MIDI and composing.. even Mike Oldfield IIRC.
