GOW released Rise Of Flight: The First Great Air War a few hours ago which is a World War I combat/flight simulator game. I have just been watching a few videos of this on YouTube, looks pretty awesome but nothing will ever beat Strike Commander (Best flight sim game ever, i loved it) :P

Rise of Flight is a World War I combat flight-simulator from Russian developer neoqb. The game brings the classic, Red Baron style air battles of WWI to your PC with flyable versions of the famous Spad XIII and the deadly Fokker D.VII biplanes. Featuring advanced flight and physics models, amazing visuals, an ultra-detailed damage engine and powerful mission editor, Rise of Flight creates a hyper-realistic combat flight experience. Rise of Flight features both Single-Player Campaign and Online Multi-Player modes of play with built in statistics tracking and detailed career development including promotions and commendations.

  • Historical references and modern computer graphics were combined to render 125,000 square kilometers of French countryside that is disfigured by a terribly cratered battlefield. Fluffy clouds fill the sky which you can fly into for cover.
  • Rain and fog are also modeled in realistic detail making flying even more of a challenge as water drops cover your windscreen or goggles. Advanced graphics featuring moving shadows, depth of field, light bloom and reflections.
  • Fly several Single-Player combat missions against a computer opponent. If you feel you have mastered the art of aerial combat you can embark on a Pilot Career and fly a historically accurate Campaign for the French, British, German or American air forces.
  • Also included is a very powerful Mission Editor that allows players to design custom missions. The Mission Editor is included on the disk and is accompanied by 150 page instruction guide! There will never be a shortage of missions to fly.
  • So hurry! Grab your goggles and silk scarf. Enemy airplanes are approaching. Who will emerge as the next Baron von Richtoven or Eddie Rickenbacker? Is it you?

    @ GG allin: WW1 tank sim and Civil War (U.S.?) fps may not be such a bad idea. The excruciatingly slow pace would allow one to more easily play the game while drinking beer. Maybe I just need a beer hat…

    game doesn't work -
    when running it it requires an internet connection, naturally i've blocked it with my firewall, and nothing happens after that.

    I'm with you ph0b0z…Loved the old Red Baron (II/3D) WWI flight sim.

    Red Baron 3D was the patched version of RBII. It came out in 1998, and I've been hoping…someday it would be re-released. It would be awesome with todays graphics!

    I'll have to give this game a try…as soon as we find a working copy.

    It starts, but that's as far as it goes.

    You either need a valid CD-key to activate it.

    OR

    We need a proper crack, none of which exist at this moment. No discussion, check nforce and gamecopyworld before saying there is, because there isn't yet.

    Damn this game dosnt widescreen aspect ratio :///
    i just see only one resolution availiable and its 1280×960 its 5:4 ratio :/ with my 16:10 looks a bit pixelrated and my monitor dosnt like to run games not on his native resolution that is 1440×900 :/

    anyway im just eable to get to menus is there a crack out for this game ? any chance to play it on lan without key ?

    Why is everyone still uploading links???…i cannot get this game working, it needs serial and online activation…i remember Bioshock was the same..it added extra files and this is prob the same..it needs a crack….whats the point of all the uploads when they wont work….the game is unplayable!….is everyone mad??????…wait til reloaded or razor1911 sort it out…this release is useless…the activated game contains downloaded extra files and this version will never work!

    even if the groups cracked this, you only get 2 planes. you have to purchase extra planes from the distributors website if you want more flying machines. if some odd lame group releases the planes separately, i can almost guarantee that it will require yet another code to install it. im giving this a pass. to the recycle bin with this game.
