Guys from iMBT released a final dvdrip of Rise, a horror movie entitled with an all-saying Blood Hunter. This is a pretty average movie starring some semi-famous Hollywood actresses like Robert Forster and Lucy Liu. The movie is little boring though, full of cliched moments and cheap looking scenes. If you like vampire and undead stuff, this could be a nice way how to spend some time. This 2 CD release comes in high quality and AC3 sound.
Sadie (LUCY LIU) is an investigative reporter who has stumbled upon an underground cult that is attracting the young hipsters of Los Angeles. When these kids start disappearing then turning up dead, she wants to understand why. In the midst of her investigation, she herself falls prey to the mastermind behind all the gruesome murders and nothing is the same again. When Sadie awakes in the dark, pushing her way out into the light, she discovers she’s not alive, but she’s not dead either. As she traipses through the seedy underbelly of downtown Los Angeles, her senses are reeling — she must feed to quench her thirst and blood is the nourishment she needs. How can she kill innocent people to satisfy her craving? Why is she alive when she should be dead?

I actually liked this film. it did require you to have one eye shut if you want to ignore the plot holes (is it normal for no one to notice when a body is missing from the morgue with the compartment kicked in from the inside ?).
What I liked about this film was that it had minimal CGI, no wire work Kung fu type shit (damn the Matrix). Just a straight forward modern day setting vampire flik without the normal history flashbacks etc.
Late night + Popcorm + This film = good fun.
I have to agree with Sevrin. No, it’s not a multimillion dollar box office blockbuster, but it is still pretty entertaining… In the same way Commando, posted earlier, is entertaining. Haha.
Plus.. seeing Nich Lachey get smacked around was great.
Movies starts off ok, then degrades into another one of those vampire movie. Seen far better! I would not recommed this film unless you are in one of those ..”I am bored and tired I need some mindless film”
Just to say, the difference is that the unrated cut is 25 minutes longer than the original cut.

I first saw this movie in Bangkok, then again here in Canada. The version (in theatres) in Bk had several scenes that were missing in the Unrated version here. What gives? Also, they showed the movie in a completely different order…
