Description: The CPU RightMark suite is meant for objective measurement of performance of modern and future processors in different computational tasks such as numerical modeling of physical processes and solving of 3D graphic problems. It focuses on testing the loaded FPU/SIMD units and the CPU/RAM tandem. As a result, we get pure CPU performance, an objective parameter obtained without the influence of other subsystems, like video and disc systems, except the memory one. It allows us to compare the true performance of different processors irrespective of a type of other system components. It’s obtained by dealing only with the CPU and measuring the CPU time spent for execution of computational tasks.

I use:
CPU-Z to check CPU (GPU-Z for GPU), Sisoft Sandra to check system hardware.
Speedfan to monitor temps and fans.
Prime95, OCCT, Orthos, & SuperPi for CPU and memory stability testing.
The likes of PCMark, 3DMark (Vantage), and SuperPi to benchmark.
I highly recommend you check out every single one of the above mentioned programs. I am NOT a l33t overclocker, only been doing this for a year, I’m a noob enthusiast. Hope this helps others out there like me.

Speedfan fails at reading temps. Use Coretemp. Much more accurate.
cpu-z simply reports the settings of your cpu and mobo settings. This utility is a BENCHMARK.
you all fail to see the purpose of this software: it allows you to customize the power saving states, with custom frequencies, voltages and steps. so epic fail to you all.

Dosnt work with Vista 64bit
this is great! what is wrong with you people, i’m trying it on my laptop it looks very useful, i wanted something like this to control to CPU usage, it should save me battery power.

I’m not quite sure if this software can be comapred to CPU-Z. el tardo is correct, that this software allows you to customize voltages and frequencies. I use it to undervolt my laptop CPU (so it runs cooler, uses less electricity) and underclock the CPU speed (because my laptop is weird in that running too fast will overheat it, oh well). It gives you more control over CPU speed/freq/voltage than what the power options in WinXP gives you.

It does work with Vista 64 if you know how to use Vista 64. You should have never installed it in the first place if you can’t work with it.
This utility is very useful if you have a laptop. It allows you to undervolt your cpu, with NO LOSS of performance. Undervolting makes your laptop run cooler, and increases battery life.
This program is IDEAL for undervolting, which allows you to get great performance while maintaining a lower power footprint. Like VirtualMark said, this makes the laptop run cooler and allows for increased battery life. This can’t compare to passive software like CPU-Z which only allows you to monitor cpu/ram statistics.

This app is perfect for “undervolting”, saving lot’s of battery time on laptops. I got a bit over 30 minutes more out of my battery with this app - without loss of performance.
-The people saying this app is crap/useless have absolutely no clue about what it’s for..

Actually I must apologise to those I called n00bs and accept that for opening my mouth before actually checking the software, I am the n00b…
Upon installation of this it became apparent that this is NOT a benchmarking application. It offers a cr*pload of features for managing power usage so as some have said, may prove useful for laptop users. This will NOT help you asses the performance of your CPU.
