I think it’s safe to say… RLSLOG just got Rick Rolled.  XXL brings us a relatively new greatest hits collection by the one, the only, Rick Astley.  Believe it or not, the album contains 14 songs, and no, they’re not just “Never Gonna Give You Up” repeated 1-14.  How they found 14 of the “Best of” Rick Astley, I’ll never know, but hey, I figured, seeing this, why not have a little fun with a post?  If you’re interested in the 80s one hit wonder who later became an internet phenomenon, give this a shot.

Richard Paul Astley (born February 6, 1966) is an English singer, songwriter, musician. He was born in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, England. Astley has also lived in Richmond, in Surrey with his Danish girlfriend, Lene Bausager, and their daughter, Emilie.

    A Rick Astley compilation that doesn’t even address his last two albums…Keep It Turned On & Portrait…and just rehashes the same stuff we’ve heard since the late 80s/early 90s…how sad, and how backward of Sony…something smells of “contractual obligation” to me

    Actually, SONY only provided the distributing rights for Rick in those days. In honest opinion, Rick Astley has become bigger than ever before, I heard there was a Rick Astley Action Figure, and a spot on the Family Guy when Brian Rick-rolled the viewers. People talking about the guy like he was some kind of freak, and people praising him, will not stop the onslaught of publicity. For a person to rack quick millions and not end up on the cover of a tabloid for drug addiction or rape charges, I would say that was a pretty good run. So when you hear the Cheese that is known as Rick “Rolled” Astley, remember that he will always be in the back of everyones mind, like it or not. Now THAT is true power.
