Richard Dawkins The Root Of All Evil Parts 1 & 2 DVDRip XviD-NOsegmenT

We continuing to skip along the path of documentary releases and this time it’s another controversial one. Presented by Richard Dawkins, who’s at University of Oxford so he has got to be pretty clever, this 2-part series tries to rationalise things that lots of people in the world call religion. I’m just about done watching part 1 and I’m glad I got it. Quality of release is very good: crisp picture and clear audio, as you’d come to expect from a DVDRip. In this documentary, you’d learn that apparently 45% (about 135 million) of those in US of A believe that the Universe is less than 10,000 years old. No wonder they (those 45%) elected Dubya…

The Root of All Evil? is a television documentary, written and presented by Richard Dawkins, in which he argues that humanity would be better off without religion or belief in God.

Nice one, I like mr. Dawkins. I respect if people are religious. But please, be a realist, seperate facts from fiction. And don’t hate or treat people by there religion.

In the past people said everything has to be done by a god, cause we have no explanation. 1000’s gods excisted.
Later on we learned things, and needed less god’s.

Some still have one or more, it’s time to let the last god go.

Swallow that rubbish remark “many scientist are ashamed to be associated with Dawkins”.
I, as a scientist don’t give a toss if ppl think/ASSUME that I agree with Dawkins view.
Second of all, many scientist don’t care about religion because both the scientists and the religious people are stubborn. Scientist don’t want to be lagged by religion. Unfortunately, religion still influences politics and therefore science it itself.
Third, this is a documentary of one persons view onto the world surrounding him.

Since I have seen this documentry well over a year ago, I will now return to my daily affairs: Science.

i guess you kinda missed my point. my point was that dawkins makes no rational arguments. i’ve definitely read through most of the threads in imdb. i’m sorry but i have to disagree with you. perhaps you can’t count but i’ve read tens of comments on the discussion board itself about dawkin’s stupidity. if you did study statistics, you would realise that the validity of the “majority positive opinions” is a tad too tinny. what dawkins is criticising, concerns more than 60% of the entire world’s population. its as good as sampling one person out of a million.

oh. and please try counting again.

This films basic point is that for parents or society to choose/force/influence childrens religion is a form of child abuse.

If someone wants to choose to believe something even if it is harmful/silly/wrong then so be it. But to impose beliefs on others is very disturbing.

The crusade against ana-baptists (christians that believed baptism should not be done until the child can make up their own mind) makes me very sad for example. And baptism isn’t even particularly problematic, you may not even know if you were baptised as a child.

Dawkins quotes someone perhaps in this film:
“Without religion you have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things it takes religion.”

  28. yeah
    October 23rd, 2008 | 16:44

    @26
If you knew about Einstein you would know that his religious beliefs are what held him back from making breakthroughs in the quantum fields of science. He was incorrect when it came to this area and it was his refusal to accept what he knew to be true logically that hindered him.

    also

the bottom line is there is zero proof of god(s) from any religion. It is a fact that the earth is billions of years old and that the universe is much older than the earth.

You want proof the earth can’t be only 10,000 years old? Look up into the night sky. You can see light reflected or given off by objects that took many thousands and millions of light years to reach you. These are called stars.

Google hubble deep field, seeing back in time over 10 billion years. Factual, observable, irrefutable evidence.

    October 23rd, 2008 | 17:03

Funny how people discount the numerous Christians who have led the forefronts of 3rd world aid, the places where atheists normally shun away from.

@28, perhaps you forget that science itself requires faith. No one was there when the universe began. Every single scientific theory on the origins of the universe requires extrapolation from today’s observations. What allows scientists to believe that laws were what they believed to be so as to carry on with their predictions? I’m sorry, it wasn’t facts. IT WAS FAITH. BLIND FAITH. I’m sorry, but I have to assume that you did not complete elementary science, else you would be able to realize that any extrapolation of a set of results would be unreliable and highly uncorroborated. This data is only predicted and is NOT CAST IN STONE. What more, you’re talking about an extrapolation of billions of years?

Sorry, that was a weak argument.

  30. wrong
    October 23rd, 2008 | 17:10

    @29
    sorry, but that’s just incorrect.

There is a difference between just saying hey I believe this because I do and then making an educated guess or a simple lucky discovery. The difference is a hypothesis of how and why and when is formed and so goes the scientific process until a greater understanding emerges. No scientist takes another’s word for it just because. The results must be reproducible by anyone.

There is a big difference between thinking hmm is this possible givin our current knowledge, and then seeking to prove and understand said theory and just saying I read this in a book I’m going to believe in this even though there is zero fact and it’s ridiculous.

theistic evolution? I’m willing to be theists didn’t come up with on their own, but instead tried to interpret facts in ways that suited them once they couldn’t deny them.

That’s what religion always does, the earth is flat, the sun rotates around the earth, the list goes on(and on).

perhaps you are missing the above points..

you see, when scientists discover something not obeying previous laws, they question and propose an alternative. thats the hypothesis. they then move on to prove their hypothesis. should they succeed, they announce their discovery to their fellow scientists for further corroboration. (scientists correct me if i’m wrong). you see, in this process, i see no greater understanding emerging. please tell me then, throughout the entire history of human science, how many scientific “facts” have been established, only to get disproved by future discoveries.

take for example, the hypothesis that the atom was actually a jelly like blob. society actually accepted that. schools taught it, scientists formulated new theories on it. then one day, some teacher accidently discovers that these blobs actually get deflected 1/20000 times when shot through a pt plate. apparently, the atom had a highly dense nucleus. tell me, how different is science from religion? you forget that the Book does provide facts that have been proven right time after time. and it book was written long before science was established. see the above website for reference.

before you lash out at me, perhaps you could answer me, with your mighty science, what is life? what is the purpose of life?

  36. wow
    October 23rd, 2008 | 17:35

    what facts have we learned?

    how about mathematics for one.

PCs, do you think those work just by chance?

Optics, steam engine, combustion engine, jet engine, nuclear power.

We discovered the stars are actually mostly hydrogen and are able to stay lit so long because of nuclear fusion. We also learned when a star goes supernova heavy elements are created. As Carl Sagan used to always say, every human is part star stuff.

There are many things that are facts, I certainly hope you never have jury duty or your peers are going to be really pissed off at you for keeping them in deliberation for years.

  37. @36
    October 23rd, 2008 | 17:36

didnt even read your whole part but:

Scientist set a hypothesis based on previously proven facts and often some indication that their topic might point in a direction.
Next we try to prove otherwise, is our idea still standing when we subject it to tests. The outcome is not simply always that the hypothesis is right or wrong.
If you try to prove that your hypothesis is right you will search for ways to interpret your data in your hypothesis’ favor, this is wrong and even scientist do this. However your dear science colleagues will, given time, show that your data are falsely interpreted.

  39. purpose of life?
    October 23rd, 2008 | 17:39

life is just the natural evolution of electrons. The only purpose an organism ultimately has is to intake enough energy to last another day and the energy to produce offspring to continue the cycle.

All other purposes flesh and bone have are determined by their dna, each type of cell does something different for the benefit of the whole.

A lot of people just can’t take thinking they themselves aren’t so special that the cosmos was invented for them and that they will survive eternally. Even the universe will not last forever, not even a tiny electron(insert smaller particles here). Look into the laws of thermodynamics.

  40. @35
    October 23rd, 2008 | 17:41

what is the point of quoting those websites? i’m sorry, i just dont comprehend at your level. did you assume that i have NO EDUCATION IN SCIENCE? i was educated in all 3 core sciences, am pursuing a degree in chemistry. i have learnt of the most up to date scientific theories, compared it with the facts of the Book, and found that their is no reason for enmity. just pointing me back to the very evidence i have considered before i made a decision is just weak. may i ask you, if you have even considered the possibilities which were proposed in the website mentioned @31?

we should really continue this debate after you have actually read the site. its really not about facts when you debate about religion. after all, it is meant to provide an out of the world experience, something supernatural and not conforming to the laws of the world. perhaps, you should really consider if science or religion made more sense. what is the purpose of your life then? i’m willing to bet that you do not have a scientific answer to that. if there is no purpose, perhaps it shouldnt be?

@28, try Dr. Francis Collins then. his faith has not stopped him from leading the HGP and discovering the gene sequence of CF

if anyone can use science to provide a “logical”, “scientific” explanation on why humans have intelligence and free will which allows us to think about religion and possibly a creator, i would rest my case. why are we so special?

  41. sorry
    October 23rd, 2008 | 17:47

I don’t do the debate based on opinion or interpretation thing, I present a few facts that directly disprove (insert religion here) and if anyone ever answers them, I’ll give them the time of day.

Nobody ever can, they just get defensive or give me what ifs. I could care less who is religious as long as they’re not extremists. But, there is no solid, concrete, observable proof. Whenever a website such as that makes a point, I do not agree with it. There is a difference between subjective and objective arguments.

The inner portions of the brain are actually not ‘that great.’ All of our primal emotions such as rage are experienced with our more animal-like portions of the brain. In fact an inner portion very closely resembles that of a crocodiles.’

Other species exhibit intelligence to the point of using tools and even weapons. Chimps of course, and many others have fairly complex societies. We are just the pinnacle of evolution now, yet we are still very dumb when you think about it.

We get duped into things like holistic medicines, various religions(you aren’t Taoist are you?), and are prone to violence. I don’t see myself as being so greatly advanced but I’m glad I was born into a species that can think more profound thoughts. The fact that we think about our origin and want to know about everything in the universe yet never will is evidence enough for me that we aren’t finish in our evolutionary journey.

  47. @41
    October 23rd, 2008 | 17:58

You already mentioned my ‘problem’ with religion, the lack of factual and the abundance of fictional.
and I quote for this website:

“What is Wrong With Embryonic Stem Cell Research? Although embryonic stem cell research has been promoted as being the best way to pursue cell-based therapies, in fact, it is unacceptable for therapy because they spontaneously form tumors when transplanted into a compatible host”.

    1) Where is the reference
    2) If so than how many times did this happen vs. how many times were different (positive or not) outcomes reported.
    3) If all stemcells from cancer than why are we still alive since all humans (and many if not all eukaryotic lifeforms) have stem cells

    shall I continue?
Point being, This website does not provide answers based on factual, testable data. I counteracts/defends point of view (or lets call it hypothesis).
As already mentioned above, one should not try to prove the hypothesis, but try in every way possible to disprove it.

“please tell me then, throughout the entire history of human science, how many scientific “facts” have been established, only to get disproved by future discoveries.”

That’s the great thing about science, if we find something that proves a previous theory (not fact, but a theory, quite a difference) wrong, we can change the theory to explain new observations.
Contrary to most religions, who are stuck in dogma and refuse to change their beliefs even when proof of their wrong is presented.

  51. dear 42
    October 23rd, 2008 | 18:09

i’m afraid we have misunderstood each other then. my point is that, science is as unreliable as religion when it comes to explaining the origins of the universe, what occurred before humans were around. i DO NOT DOUBT science’s credibility and developments since human history. religion and science are two different worldviews and i do hope you agree with me on that. science attempts to explain the physical and observable universe, while religion attempts to explain the spiritual. i see no conflict in their coexistance. i dont see why you should. perhaps you find joy in existing in only half of the universe? you ignore the conscience that bugs you when you do something wrong? you never wonder why do all humans have this common right and common wrong? why genetically identical twins have different personalities? yes, sure, there have been hypotheses which offer a possible explanation. but i just cant ignore the soul within me. the soul that leads me deeper in self reflection. perhaps you are just a boring person.

i have to go now, if i have offended anyone, i sincerely apologize. perhaps i was a little too harsh and forcing. we are each entitled to our own beliefs. whatever the case, i have raised the basis for mine and i have heard many of yours. regarding any other comments, i will check back tomorrow.

There’s zero proof for the existence of God but there is tons of scientific FACT proving the Earth is much older than 10,000 years, that we did in fact evolve into humans over millions of years and that the Universe was created in the big bang.
    ——————
Ok, PROVE IT! The VERY first rule of science is that you have an action that when acted upon another gives a reaction. So tell me bumbarse…WHAT cause the stuff to explode that created the big bang? Matter DOES NOT act unless influenced or acted upon by another object or matter. Thus you complete theory of the big bang is proven false UNLESS you can say what acted upon the matter to cause it to explode. You can say it kept compressing, but wait…that takes gravity and gravity did not exist until there was something large enough to help create it. You can say heat, but wait…what caused the heat to increase to such a point that the explosion happened. You can say anti-matter but wait…though almost positive that this exists, no one has yet produced a single atom of this to say for sure. You can say dark matter but wait…we suspect that this exists but again no one has proven it exists. As such you have yet to state what cause the matter to explode. And are you REALLY trying to say that something smaller then a head of a pin according to Carl Sagans work, was able to bring all the universe into being? That is like saying that I can fill the Pacific basin with the water from a single drop of rain. Matter CANNOT be destroyed or created dweeb, it can only be reused from something that already existed.

As for the earth being older then 10,000 years, I agree. But explain just how the age of the earth is older then the known universe? According to Nova and Scientific American as well as NASA and the European Space Agency, ALL have shown that some asteroid fragments PRE DATE the Big bang by over 2 Billion years. Now either your whole timeline is completely wrong and as such not worth spit, or the universe is far older then you think it is. And please dont even start on some of your datings, MIT carbon dated a livin mullosk in 1998 and according to the test, that mullosk was over 2.5 BILLION YEARS OLD!

And as for evolution..PUH-LEAZE, you have to be the dumbest sh^thead in the world to believe that myth, and I am not saying the story of creation given by the Bible is much better. I will ask you the same question that I asked in the other thread about the “expelled” movie recently posted here. And here ya go buckwheat, “If Evolution is a fact…then provide ONE instance of one animal-creature-plant-etc evolving into another species…just one. If this is fact then it should be simple right? Then do what no other person in the scientific community has ever done and provide one species that has evolved into another.” I am not going to hold my breath as you cannot provide even one. The person that tried this argument even tried selective breeding and was destroyed. They tried the English Pepper Moth and was destroyed when it was shown that they are TWO different species. They even tried the part where the birds bill grows larger in the pacific islands to break the nuts and get the seeds, and then shrinks when the nuts are smaller…right till I quoted an article in nature magazine that clearly shows this is a natural ability of ALL birds. And the same dweeb even tried to say that Darwin never disputed Evolution or could prove it…right up till I gave him quotes directly from Darwins own notes and letters saying the exact same thing.

So unless you can prove for a fact that evolution is correct, then you are just as much an idiot as the people you claim are who believe in the Bible, and probably more so as not only can you NOT prove your belief (and being unable to prove a belief is called RELIGION or FAITH) you have had your “belief” fooled so many times that it is now looking like a block of swiss cheese with all the holes in it that you cannot document or prove. Can you say Celecanth? The same fish that you evolutionistical jugheads swore went extinct, till we found them all over the place. Or the woodpecker in La swamps that you swore was extinct till it showed up. And please…let us not forget the Spotted Owl, or the Giant Squid (kraken) that you said did not exist till it was caught on film. Or even the Dino’s evolving inot birds of today, right up till that was debunked so badly that the twit that made the statement has never recovered from the bashing he received when proven wrong.

better yet i’ll give you a few options:

    a) because God created it an thought it would be fun to have one.
    b) because God gave it to us and were simply to stupid to figure out it’s use.
    c) I am to stupid/indoctrinated/delusional to answer this question
    d) Because we are descendant from primates which also have a tail bone (still) with tail and function for it attached to their bodies
    e) all of the above
    f) none of the above, you (me, the writer of this question) is to stupid and I’ll explain it to you and go for next Nobel prize in Evolution.

The proof is of course that so many xtians react so badly to Dawkins who is after all just one person stating his point of view. But the xtians get so angry and upset at Dawkins claming stating his observations. Why because deep down people know he is on the right track.
The imdb thread is a classic example of that just cause some half witted bully shouts down everyone else, the xtians think they gave proven something. In fact all they’ve proven is their irrationality. Dawkins is correct when he states that amerika is shooting itself in the foot with superstition. While the rest of the world is concentrating on science education, amerika is receding into the dark ages.
A so called chemistry student who disputes scientific principle and argues against the advances made in modern physics is a classic example of the new dark age descending on that corrupt theocratic empire. When they discover prayer doesn’t keep their household gadgets running it will be too late.

There are quite some ‘atheists’ commenting here that seem to hate God with a passion…

And then there are those who proclaim science to be the new god and only worthy religion. They seem to be unaware of the fact that science, just a few hundred years ago, taught that the best way to treat all kinds of disease was with bloodletting and leaches. They also were certain that the world was flat and held on its place, in the center of the universe, by four elephants that were standing on a huge turtle.

Then why do so many people want to move to the USA? Why do so many countries look to us to provide them with financial support? Why is the USA the only country besides Finland trying to help Africa with their aids epidemic?

  61. @60
    October 23rd, 2008 | 19:14

Indeed good start there, the last bit atleast.
Now we know better, science has shown many of those old beliefs to be false by supplying solid evidence.
How much did religion progress from that time on? Ow in the Roman time they rewrote the old book and added/removed some stuff to suit them better, good job!
As for other religions, they did nothing what so ever!

Science is no religion: Those who think it is are incapable of seeing past religion in itself! Poor chaps.

As for quite some atheists, I wish there were more. As a figure of speech let’s ‘pray’ that more will start thinking rationally for themselves.

All those who falsely believe that science is an objective measure of truth should read up on e.g. Plato’s ‘Allegory of the Cave’.

People who hide behind science in their rejection of faith and religion have obviously not the faintest idea what science really is and how it works.

Why do they help? so many countries help. CARE is all over the western world. Hell, I even donate to CARE and feel so much a better person.

You are speaking about rationality, the quality or state of being agreeable to reason. Reason itself can be described as a sufficient ground of explanation or of logical defense.

Do you understand that you, nor I, nor any other human being will ever be able to know the full and absolute truth. You can only try to account for and explain what you observe and experience with your fallible senses and imperfect reason. Calling this truth and what others think nonsense is colossal arrogance based on a fundamental lack of understanding.

Just give us some links… BTW, this is about evil… not what created this universe… Also, many religions believe the Death Penalty is fair… It’s not ok when one person kills someone else in cold blood… But it’s fine when someone sticks a needle in someones arm when they are not doing anything to anyone at that given moment (Premedatated Murder)…??? The exact thing that got them there… So if we killed everyone who killed someone we’d all be dead…

Seems like science in general takes pride in being ignorant: in the sense that they are open to discoveries, but why is it then that so many people here grab on to THEORYS, (the key word here) meaning an idea that seems probable but not a fact (a word that many people here like to toss in) If you are a true patron of science then you should be open to the ideas that can’t be considered laws. For example Darwin’s theory is a theory and just like any religion there is a great deal of faith in aspects that can’t be explained. (example: how was the first cell created) Darwin simply posed an idea and was open to arguments, instead seems like a lot of “atheists” (many but not all) today have grabbed hold of it like a bible and refuse to listen to any protest. (doing exactable what they accuse religious people of) But the main point is people like being classified as something whether it is Christian, Hindu, Jewish, scientist or atheist which a lot of the time develops a nationalistic phenomenon. This makes them feel like they are right and that the other side is simply not thinking or listening to what you have to say closely enough. In the end no one has the answer or else there would be no argument. As an individual develop a lifestyle that works for you, but don’t be a Nazi by beginning to feel like your answer is something special, giving you authority bellower people who don’t share your views. If someone has an ACTUAL point opposing mine, I would love to hear it.

I love all the arguments going back & forth. I know this isn’t a discussion forum for such things, but I can’t resist adding my two cents.

I debated science vs. religion for some time. My decision was NOT based on ‘evidence’ from either, but from my own personal morals.
If you actually take time to read/study the bible, killing is promoted by God. And if non-believers are not killed, they are to spend eternity in hell.

How can god be almighty and all-wise if he is vain? He is vain because those that do not worship him or believe in him are either killed or sent to hell. What type of god is that??!!!!

George Carlin the comedian had a skit that summed it up rather nicely…. an all powerful god that can conjure anything, created a world where there is famine, murder, rape, etc. I would make a better god than that!!!

If I have better morals than god himself, than why would I worship him?

and if you don’t like what I said, don’t get too bent out of shape… we are each entitled to our opinions. (well, not according to the bible) :)

    thanks for the share!

@84 – I appreciate you writing and giving me the opportunity to better explain some of the confused ideas you have on Christianity.

“He is vain because those that do not worship him or believe in him are either killed or sent to hell. What type of god is that??!!!!”

God is love. He created us because he wanted to be loved and have a relationship with us. He gave us free will to choose to follow him because without choice there isn’t love and we would be robots. Which isn’t what god wanted. God is fair and gives everyone opportunities in their life to follow him, but for whatever reason (pride, past experiences, sin) people have made the choice not to. There are stories in the Bible where God has wiped out nations for the sin and pain they were causing in the world, because they denied him and had worshiped a life of the devil. They were given the same opportunity and warned of the consequences and they still denied God. Do you expect God to grant them eternal life when they have been disobedient to his word? If he did, that would seem like a dysfunctional god who has no rules or boundaries and is that really a “fair” god?

“an all powerful god that can conjure anything, created a world where there is famine, murder, rape, etc. I would make a better god than that!!! If I have better morals than god himself, than why would I worship him?”

The world became wicked and sinful because Adam & Eve made the choice to not obey god’s word and eat the apple. God didn’t create the world to be this place of pain, sickness and sin; we as humans made that choice and it is now within our nature to sin. The world we live in today isn’t God’s earth; it is satan’s playground and God allowed his presence on earth to give us temptation of sin so he may know who truly loves him and belongs by his side in eternal life.

Its our human nature and mindset to focus on the negative. You see people blame and hate god when something bad happens but how often do these same people praise and thank him when something good happens? Rarely ever, because it is our nature to be selfish and prideful.

Believing that there is someone more powerful and holy than ourselves is against everything in our culture that we have been raised in. So we fight it (i.e. “I would make a better god than THAT!”) and over time our hearts become hardened and minds become bitter to the point where we will never listen or try to comprehend an idea of God.

That all being said, I expect an uproar about how wrong these ideas are as most people on this board seem to be on the bandwagon of thinking a believer is “weak”. I don’t expect to change anyone’s mind but feel it should be noted on here that a lot of what is being written is false and by most people who really have no idea of what God is about. Once again, we all have a choice and it’s sad that so many people have made it without really making a conscience effort to listen.

  91. New Horizon
    October 24th, 2008 | 02:27

@91 – Yes, i believe that. From you sarcastic tone, it sounds like you have chosen not to.

The worse thing that happens if the Bible is false, believers are wrong and after ~80 years of following the Bible I die and then what? Nothing?

The worse thing that happens if the Bible is true, then non-believers were wrong and spent ~80 years denying the god and receive eternal life in hell.

I would rather spend my lifetime on this earth living by god’s word in order to receive eternal life than to deny it so i can spend my time here in sin while I ignore to think about the consequences.

This is the personal choice and decision I have made in my life based on the truth in the Bible and the life I led before being saved. We all make our choices for several reasons, what’s yours?

  93. GDesigner
    October 24th, 2008 | 02:48

Right on, New Horizon! Paraphrasing a bit of Pascal’s “The Wager” eh?

The origins of the universe have very, very little to do with the vast majority of science. Math and, for the most part, physics are completely independent of Creationism or Evolution. In other words, Christian mathematicians and atheist mathematicians still work differential equations the same exact way…without compromising their beliefs.

The origins of the universe TRULY make an impact on the WHY of science, not the HOW. A Christian wants to discover the truths about this world because it gives him/her insight into the Creator. An atheist wants to discover the truths about this world because he/she believes this is all there is.

I don’t believe that proponents of evolutionary theory are “idiots” or “stupid”… It’s not a matter of intelligence. What you believe about the origins of the universe is a matter of faith informed by empirical data. Atheists might point to the cosmos and talk about the red shift or the distance of the stars from earth, the speed of light, and how the earth MUST be billions of years old because of the distance. Well, who measured the distance? In order to have a reliable, calibrated instrument, you must know all the data. Who has measured that distance?

I point to the stars too. They show me God’s handiwork. I also happened to graduate from Notre Dame with a double major; so, I don’t consider myself “dumb”…

    It’s a matter of faith.

    @57

First thing that jumps to mind is the human tail bone. Explain to me why we (still) have a small tail bone?

*Why? According to medical science that is NOT a tail bone. What the AMA calls it is the “drippings of the calcium forming on the bone of the hips and spine” and has been repeated in the JAMA numerous times. So get rid of that outdated idea and read factual items instead.*

better yet i’ll give you a few options:

me, the writer of this question is too stupid

*Thank you for admitting it and saving me from having to embarrass you like I did with the other twerp that asked me to prove same*
    ——————————
@58, slither back under your rock of ignorance where you belong. The proof is that Dawkins arguments are not rationally thought out-fall very short in proof or factual evidence and his conclusions leave very much to be desired. I mean how stupid do you have to be to go on when every other scientist that see’s and reads your papers blows holes in them faster then you can write them? The only more stupid people are people that defend him or believe him…get the point?*
    ————–
@62, no one is basing religion over science; all that is being asked is for proof of the statements and that is one bedrock principal of science..being able to PROVE your claims. As of yet not one of the members of the church of evolution have been able to prove for a fact that evolution actually exists, just like not one of the creationists has been able to prove that God exists. Therefor to take each as a solid belief is more dependent of FAITH then fact. As such each is nothing more then a religion as only in a religion do you take faith that something is fact when you have no proof of same.
    ———————
@67, are you mental or what? Using your logic, I can say that unless I can take the seed of an ape and the egg of a female and combine them and have a viable offspring, then there is no way that man nor ape are releated. While that statement is clearly stupid and ignorant, so are you and your supposition.
    —————-
@85, you have just shown your ignorance far better then anyone ever could. Dawkins has been degraden, had his claims and suppositions diproved so badly that only an ignornat fool would accept them with any form of credibility, has been completely destroyed by a simple high school biology teacher in a debate in 2007 where Dawkins got so flustered and angry that he was being bested by a high school teacher, that he threw his mike at the teacher and stormed off the stage to a chorus of “boos” and “liar” and “fraud”. If this is the kind of person you want to believe in, then feel free but please do not breed, we have enough ignorance in the world today without you spawning more
    ————-
88 what a dumba$$ed statement “It’s no wonder creationists don’t believe in evolution. They are still lower primates” But according to Evolution, this is the exact stock you came from. So why would you dis your own mother and father like that?
    —————-
@91 Ignoranceman, you have shown that you have not even graduated grade school history or physics yet. While the Bible may not be the end all to be all on this subject, it still is a very used resource for historical studies of people and kingdoms during the time it was written. IN fact they have just uncovered a city that had been forgotten in Egypt, that had the feet of a gigantic statue, in the exact same area that the Bible said it would be. In Iraq, they have found two different dried up riverbeds that show there used to be 4 rivers that flowed there, just as the Bible said they did. There was a great flood, just as the Bible said…only it was regional not world wide and the proof is that the Black sea has villages in it 300 feet below the surface showing the sea had risen that much and to the people there it did indeed seem like the end of the world. The parting of the sea of reeds happens quite often according to locals and in some instances a sandbar appears so you can walk from one side to the other on dry land, just like the Bible said happened.

On a scale of 1-10, the Bible is beating your theory by a factor of 9-1. While I may not believe in a God unless I see one, the Bible is coming out as a much more plausable theory then your unproven faith of evolution.
