ReviewMe: KGB Keylogger, a hidden spy

Here’s another paid ReviewMe review. We’re covering a security oriented product called KGB Keylogger this time.

A keystroke recorder (a.k.a. keylogger) is a software tool that traces all or specific activities of a user in a computer system. Despite objections to the breach of privacy, sometimes it’s the only way to prevent other people’s mistakes or ascertain your suspicions. If you are a parent, you may want to know what your kid does online, what sites he or she visits. You can also use a keylogger to ’spy’ on yourself when your other programs fail to provide autosave. The keylogger saves your input to protect it against glitches in the system. To restore input text, you just need to open the log and copy the entry into Clipboard.

KGB Keylogger offers you several integrated tools to monitor user activities. Each tool keeps track of a different activity. You can use it not only to log key strokes, but also to record clipboard entries and web sites. All activities are logged into a file, and supported with snapshots. Every log entry has a time stamp, the name of application and the caption of the window where the activity took place. When you put it all together, you’ll have the whole picture of user activities minute by minute. As well as what was typed, you will also see when and where it was typed.

The nice thing about KGB Keylogger is its Stealth mode, which basically means you have no way how to recognize the keylogger is actually running. Monitor of network activity and export to HTML is just another nice addition. Finally, the chance to make screenshots of your desktop in set intervals may also be extremely handy. Although this application has little controversial usage, it may be very useful for you in various range of situations. You can try a free trial with limited functions or buy the full license for $49 at the homepage of this application.

too bad tools like these open up a whole world of misuse

  2. July 26th, 2007 | 23:56

This shit should not be here for public download. How irresponsible of the person and this site to put it here. Get some common sense Releaselog moderator/administrator, idiots!

    How is this irresponsible?

It’s a piece of software that has legit uses. If you want to log what goes on at your own computer that’s your business. Can it be misused? Of course… but then again, so can a lots of other software.

I for one think it’s good there are tools out there for everything. You really think hiding it would change anything? Come on… That’s not the way the internet works, thankfully.

I have to agree, this is a really bad choice of software to cover. I realize you have to make some profit, but come on, a keylogger?

Irresponsible? Must be irresponsible to sell computers too since people can use computers to hack and spam other people. I can see keylogger applications very useful to see what your employees are up while they work. Obviously, it can be used to harvest banking accounts and identities. With your logic, it’s must be irresponsible to sell steak knives since they can be used to stab people.

Cim, Joe, there are enough trojan, virus, bloatware, and spyware programs out there as it is. No need to advertise them if there can be more constructive applications to cover. Legit uses for a keylogger are theoretically possible, but let’s be realistic here. 99% of their users utilize these programs strictly for malicious purposes and not for making the world a better place. Again, this is a completely formal objection. It’s not my site to manage.

Totaly Agree this software does not belong on this site. Lets be honest the only reason to use this POS software is:

    1) rob bank account info
    2) credit card info
    3) game & website logins

Theres about a 1% legit reason to use it.

bitch and whine on a site that posts links to illegal copies of movies and software. Gee wow how irresponsible is rlslog? I mean posting links to movies and software that costs studios and corporations billions and billions per year is fine, but key logging software? No way…..talk about crossing the line.

  9. July 27th, 2007 | 00:53

    lmfao irresponsible?

This is funking warez news site!!!111

    Take your morality elsewhere

Well, you have to agree that there is a difference between watching a “stolen” copy of Die Hard 4 just to delete that piece of crap (no offense to ones who liked it – I really, really didn’t) without spending 5-10 bucks beforehand, and stealing somebody’s financial information, violating that person’s basic constitutional rights, and complicating or even damaging his or her life in the process. Many people don’t believe that software piracy is immoral. Most people believe that copyright laws are unfair and should be re-worked. On the other hand, I don’t know anyone who can defend individual theft and invasion of privacy. Perhaps you can educate me on this subject.

it amazes me any developer would be dickheaded enough to pay to have a review of their software posted on a fileharing blog…

if any of rlslogs readers are actually interested in this shifty piece of shit, they’re hardly going to be paying for it now, are they?

besides that, this paid review section is bullshit. it’s the most obtrusive advertising going on this site. rlslog’s great, but if goes much further in this direction its going to haemorrhage readers.

I once used a keylogger to check on whether or not a partner was cheating on me as her behavior was becoming increasingly odd. She wasn’t but she had become addicted to gambling and run up quite a debt. Being confronted with the evidence helped snap her out of it and so I feel the program was used legitimately to assist a situation that could have spiraled badly out of control.
I never once considered robbing someones bank details but now that you guys have mentioned it…

isnt that so called “obtrusive advertising” what is helping keep this site up? Who (aside from you) cares about the little ads on this site, as long as they keep providing links and feedback on the latest movies and software people are receiving for free.

Scrolling is a handy thing is it not? They also have this little wheel on a mouse that makes scrolling that much easier.

I used a Keylogger to see what my stupid ex-girlfriend was doing and lo and behold I got the address of her ex-con boyfriend she was seeing. I show up at his house and she was there, contrary to her telling me she was at her girlfriends house. This type of program saved me months, if not YEARS of being lied to and in the dark, so it’s not a bad program if you use it right. There are also anti-keylogger programs I use to shut down possible tracking of my activities, so it works both ways.

    come on admins
If you are going to put stuff for the money then rlslog will become something totally different. This site is meant for scene releases. If you are going to put up stuff thats only trial version then that beats the meaning of the site.

I know it is easy to look around for a torrent of the program but you should consider what your site is really meant for either posting cracked material or becoming like eg download.com only giving trial versions.

To be honest at least they say it is a paid review.

Most magazines you buy (PC Magazine to name just one and some leader Game magazines) do this all the time. They accept I will pay for/place advertisments in your magazine for the next 12 months if you publish a good review of this worthless piece of s**t. Of course they do this, otherwise they can not pay the bill. Money needs to come from somewhere and it is unlikely to be completely funded by subscribers. I am sure this goes for most websites out there also.

Hey, I worked for a company that did this regularly. When I found out, I left and went to work somewhere else.

This is ‘commercial’ software. The good stuff you have to dig for.

A key logger is nothing more than what google does with your searches, gmail does with your emails, Yahoo/AOL does with your chats, US big brother does to track torrent users and such..

This one is just a ‘local log’ is all.. Hell, at least THIS one you can control eh? LOL!!

    July 27th, 2007 | 09:03

I’ve never seen such hypocrites as the moderators on rlslog. Not just in this case, but also in their ‘personal comments’.

I don’t care about a keylogger. If your own computer is breached, it’s your own fault. But supporting illegal movies/warez/games by logging their releases YET taking money for reviewing legit software??? So people are actually paying you for NOT RELEASING a cracked version of their product? Man…

  23. QuadrupelQ
    July 27th, 2007 | 09:06

And for the people who’s girlfriends cheated on them…

If somebody cheates on you, they probably have a reason for it. In other words you were never good enough. Don’t blame that on another person or praise a keylogger for finding out.

  24. July 27th, 2007 | 09:26

To all the people who say this software is irresponsible, stfu. It’s not the software, its fucked up person who’s using it that steals your bank account / game account info.

If you wanna pay for rlslog’s servers, then i’m sure they would welcome it with open arms, but you’re not, so they need a way to keep the money rolling in.

You don’t have to read this part of the site. You know that link that brought you here..? DON’T FUCKING CLICK IT, SIMPLE

MrJack said it all right. Don’t blame the tool, blame the turd using the tool. All you weeaboos can go squat in a corner and cry and fap for all we care, just plz don’t bring your moral shit here.

One gripe though, where’s the crack, lol~! This would add to my fine collection of sniffers, hehe~

hey, lets get rid of this software from the world, bc people can use it for evil purposes. in fact, lets get rid of guns while we’re at it since people can be shot and killed. hey, lets even get rid of cars too, bc people may use it to go out of their way to run over people. this is a site that promotes the release of certain software/games/entertainment. and to the person who commented about how their gfs cheated on them bc they probably deserved it.. you obviously need to get out and meet real life people, bc people WILL fuck you over even if you’ve been good to them. thanks for the laugh kid.

I used this exact program because I had a very strange roommate in college. He used to use my computer late at night after I went to bed and he would always look at me and smile. It was a very uncomfortable feeling, so I started keylogging his sessions. It turns out that he was a homosexual and had a crush on me, so those nights he was in a chat room talking to his gay friends about me. He even told his g4yzor friends that I was “hung like a clydesdale”, which was totally true, but still…

Anyway, I punched him in the face the next morning and threw all of his gay azz shit out of our dormroom and I never saw him again.

The lesson is – fuck your morals. You posters who cry that this forum is no place for software like this are as double g4y as my roommate ever was. Get off your soap boxes you faggots. This is America and there is no room for whiny little bitches who cry over right and wrong.

So many words about the sites and almost nothing about the program, while it is BRILLIANT!!! It places the SECOND PLACE in keylogger.org comparison table!!!! Whish means that only one keylogger is better than this one.
