ReviewMe: AVS Video Converter

Here’s another ReviewMe post. We’ve covered some interesting appz for work with video and here’s one more interesting application which may be worth checking.

We all know how painful can it be to have many video files on your computer in different file formats. It’s really annoying: you need a special application for playing this video, you need another app for playing the other video and so on. You often can’t play some video at all, if you computer doesn’t contain appropriate codecs. That’s where application like AVS Video Converter may become very handy. AVS Video Converter is a quality just-out software that offers you a number of video relating activities. With AVS Video Converter you can rip and burn DVDs, convert video between all key formats.

Add menus and burn your own DVDs to watch on your home DVD player with your friends and family. Delete unwanted parts of video. Split and join. Rotate, add titles and credits, apply more than 50 audio and video effects to your movies. Upload them directly to handled devices Sony PSP, Apple iPod, Portable Media Player (PMP), and GSM or CDMA mobile phones. Transfer video files via Infrared, Bluetooth or USB cable. AVS Video Converter supports Memory Stick Video format with thumbnail preview. Use Batch mode Video Converter – Convert several video files at once. Merge and split them. Join several video files and make one DVD. AVS Video Converter has a simple and easy to use interface and takes a few moments to start working.

As you can see, the list of features is really long. AVS Video Converter is a part of a comprehensive video package which should basically allow you to do everything with video files in your computer. You can buy either a 1 year license for $29 or a lifetime license for 59 bucks. The installation package is slightly bigger than it’s usual (41 MB), but that’s not too surprising when you think about all the utilities. You can download the trial before you decide to buy it of course. If you work with videos a lot, this may be a really useful program for you.

I think you are forgetting one crucial thing. To convert video from one format to another, you do need to have the proper codecs installed. And ANY conversion will cause loss of quality.

  16. June 26th, 2007 | 20:00

For converting FLV files I use Total Video Converter or Cinemaforge. They do the job great. I’m gonna try this app too…

Works good until you upgrade. Then you have to hand them more money. Lifetime license is for the PC you first install on. If it crashes too bad more money now. Not a professional organization at all.. poor to respond to emails.

    >> I think you are forgetting one crucial thing. To convert video from one format to another, you do need to have the proper codecs installed.

AVS Video Converter includes all codecs in the package so you should not worry about having “all the proper codecs installed”

    >> can someone tell me if this can convert flv to avi or any other video formats? thx

    it does

It is tied to your HDD so you may upgrade other PC equipment seamlessly. And even you are about to make a full upgrade, just push the support (and give a link to this thread) and they will keep yer license.

Well and the guy on cover comes from clip arts. Dunno about his orientation.

Although all these gay references are really immature, they’re quite amusing too.

I have this app and it works great. I have converted all of the files formats to any other formats… the only downside is flv to any other format. FLV will convert but audio will be lost. if you are converting youtube files then use another flv converter. For anything else this app will do fine. I bought the 89 bundle and I have done plenty of work with it. Upgraded my computer and OS and the license worked again. All you have to do is send e-mail to tech support and presto! license works!
