Resurrecting The Champ is the name of new boxing movie premiered during this weekend, which has ambitions to become a world blockbuster. The story based on a real event reminds me a bit about Rocky – it’s about the effort of reporter who tries to ressurect forgotten boxing legend. The cast is splendid with Josh Hartnett and Samuel L Jackson in the two main roles and first reviews talk about a very good film. The quality of this first camera doesn’t have too much to offer though – dark, pixelated and blurred image with overcropped edges. Waiting for a better copy may be a wise step.
Struggling sports reporter Erik Kernan (Josh Hartnett) encounters a homeless man who calls himself “Champ” (Samuel L. Jackson) only to determine that he is the one-time boxing champion Battling Bob Satterfield. What begins as a story about resurrecting a once-great man becomes Erik’s title shot. In his journey to uncover the truth, Erik has to reexamine his own life and his relationship with his young son.

This movie is kind of like the other movie he was in about how he was legendary pianist, then started living in the cave etc.. almost the exact same acting.

@5 Where is this available mate? and is this incomplete in anyway being a workprint do you know. I know they shot new scenes in the movie the 1st week in august so this may not be the end product which premiered on the 23rd August.
