Oo-la-la. Just 2 weeks after UNiVERSAL brought us the FS VHS screener, HLS releases the retail DVDRip. Fans of the genre should feel pretty happy right now, as this movie received better reviews than many other similar feel-good sport dramas out there. Samuel L. Jackson is the big bonus here, much like he is for every movie he’s ever in, ranging from masterpieces like “Pulp Fiction” to ridiculous fun-fests like “Snakes On A Plane”.

Synopsis: In RESURRECTING THE CHAMP, Samuel L. Jackson sheds the cooler-than-thou persona he’s perfected in films such as PULP FICTION. But even previous turns as the downtrodden characters in CHANGING LANES and BLACK SNAKE MOAN are nothing compared to the role of Champ in this film from director Rod Lurie (THE LAST CASTLE). Jackson transforms into a homeless man, completely changing his voice and carriage to reflect someone who has lived on the street for years. When the audience first meets Champ, he is being attacked by a group of 20-something men. A sports journalist named Erik Kernan (Josh Hartnett, THE BLACK DAHLIA) happens upon the scene and rescues Champ from a brutal beating.

    i was wondering if there could be a small update section on the top right (or left), which reported if the torrents are available for the recent releases that are posted.

    I have read in a lot of posts in the comment section that people have to keep waiting and checking again n again to see if newtorrent has the torrent their looking for or not.

    If there could be an update section on the right, just like where the poll is, where it wud tell the reader immediately if the torrent is available form the link that you provide, i think that would help alot.

    A lot of times it has happened with me (and I’m sure its true with many others) that im reading the posts on rlslog and i come across something i really want, but the torrent is not available yet.. and the next time i visit the site, i forget to check on that post, so i land up missing out and not downloading tht release at all.

    so if u could integrate something like a widget that would just inform the reader that the torrent is now available that would be great.

    Quite a nice movie. Jackson plays his part well, and there’s a nice twist towards the end. It’s not just about boxing or the champ, but rather more, like why we want champs and why we tell the stories we do …..

    AR : Aspect Ratio

    And it’s nuked for bad Aspect Ratio

    the proper does not have the correct aspect ratio :

    “the AR difference was still within allowed %
    and the thing is that the AR on the dvd is wrong !!!
    this is a european dvd, the ntsc dvd will have the correct AR of 2.35:1″
