There will be blood was sooooo boring. I mean geezus, I saw it 3 times and fell asleep midway for 3 times. I am so glad it didn’t win. I never even blinked for “No Country for Old Men”. That movie rightfully won.

Actually Oscars means a lot to the industry – which is the same as saying nothing. Who cares, they never get it right, but No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood are great movies, Oscars or not.

I cannot stand the oscars. A load of mediocre talentless fools patting each other on the back for their own self gratification isn’t something that interests me. Also the movies are getting so crap!!
No Country for Old Men./ what a heap of steaming turd that was and yet it won so much??
As for ‘300′ the people gushing over thjat obviously have no idea…
Ever since Tarantino, movies have gone downhill…
Hollywood is guff.

i cant believe these fanboys gushing over 300. if they were actually homosexuals (seriously) i will understand. but there’s nothing ’special’ about oversaturated comic-book graphics. not to mention how awful and infantile the script was. sorry.

on the other hand, i feel awful for pta. twbb had some pretty dammn good moments, but i think it was overall what they call a ‘flawed masterpiece’. you can see the look on his face when they announced the best director. but come to think of it, coens had won best dir thrice! (most ever) at cannes already. it wouldnt look good if pta got awarded the oscar before they were (not that its impossible for them to dismiss genuine talents far too long (marty) or even entirely (kubrick))

I found those foreign films interesting. I always prefer to watch films in other languages because the emotion of the characters comes thru much better, when you have no clue how a line’s suppose to sound. With that said, anyone know if anyone group released any of those foreign films?

@45 It was actually released march 2007

Its visual effects should have been nominated especially when The Golden Compass won that category. But other than that it shouldn’t have been nominated for any other categories. I think “Meet the Spartans” would have won more awards than 300
