For their line of commercial ‘Replay’ software products, the company Applian misuses the best of the available Open Source audio/video/Windows-emulation-for-Unix software. Be it Cygwin, ffmpeg, mplayer, mencoder, ogg vorbis, lame, etc., hundreds of thousands of hours of development under the GPL are used without respecting the GPL.

Among other things, the GPL demands that anybody who uses GPL-software in their own product (be it commercial or non-commercial) makes the customer/user aware of the GPL portions used and make available any modified OS code in source code for free.

All I find is them mentioning their use of Lame.

Do not ever download anonymous links, download your files from “links:” in the main post or rlsforum->downloads section. Do Not Enter your password in any goddamn links-protectors sites. Best way? “go to your login page, make sure the ssl is active, and then login. Your cookie will set and you shall not see any other login request in future, If you see, It’s a phishing site.”
be aware there is no way you can trust a file 100%, you can just increase the chance.
In the end, It’s strongly recommended test the files with virustotal.com
If you are a professional, you may consider using Virtual machine or sandboxie or any other simulators.

If you have FLV (Flash video files) which are not seekable, but you’d like to be able to navigate within these FLV files, then download the little free application flv MetaData Injector from http://www.buraks.com:

extract both ZIPs into the same folder, and start the GUI frontend to use the application. There is no actual installation process.

The conversion process is very fast; it does not take much longer than the time it takes to read and write the flv file from and to disk. By default, the flv files themselves are changed (which means that the original file gets overwritten). The file size doesn’t change much, normally it gets shrunk by a few kilobytes.

Most vids like YouTube can be easily DOWNLOADED with Firefox and DownloadHelper extension. Try that first. I use it mostly for porn vids.

Well Replay’s product line is very confusing. They seem to constantly remix parts of their apps and release them under new names. I’ll stick with Media Catcher.

Hey, you posted the wrong picture. Replay media catcher and Replay video catcher are 2 totally different programs.

i was JUST using the demo version of this app to ‘borrow’ the personalized content off of ‘elfyourself.com’ — using safari or firefox addon just gets the default video with the default elves… and they charge $5 per video when you customize them

with this i just drew a box around the video in my browser and presto! great quality both a/v…. also –i saw someone say that the downside is you get the youtube progress bar… if you do what i did you can essentially make the box the EXACT size you want… excluding the bar or whatever…same goes if you wanted to actually include a portion of the page etc if you make it bigger than the video frame
