Renoise v1.9.0-YAG

Did you ever wanted to make music which sounds like that from scene keygens, also known as “chip tunes”? If your answer is positive, then read on…

Description:

Renoise has a unique bottom-up approach to music making. With its vertical timeline and streamlined interface, Renoise lets you have direct control over the composition.

Interface

Quick. That sums it up pretty much. Once you get rolling with the keyboard shortcuts, there is no stopping you. And hey, there are no annoying floating windows. Every widget stays where it belongs.

Multi Platform

Renoise runs on Windows and Mac OS X. If you want to use both OS’es, that is possible too! No need to register a separate copy.

MIDI

Connect Renoise to hardware synths or VST instruments to send and receive notes and controllers changes. Sync Renoise in either master or slave mode.

VST Instruments and Effects

VST provides you a vast array of effects and synths. With Renoise all that is within reach. Why not map an external MIDI controller to a VSTi through the VSTiAutomate Device and start tweaking for real?

And more…

Jeeez guys – this isn’t a “chiptune creator”, it’s a very robust music editor. Using for that purpose is like calling dreamweaver a fine .txt editor.

Q: What’s up with the spelling on this site?

A: Spelling is not at the top of our list when putting together a post. English is not most of our editor’s mother tongue, although we try to keep it professional by using spell-checkers. Constantly leaving comments that regard the minutest spelling or grammatical mistakes is not just only annoying and a waste of time, but is also very insulting as we are doing this in our free time at no cost to you. Unless there is a massive mistake all of these comments will be deleted as spam. Even if English is that editor’s native language, they are going to make mistakes from time to time even with a spell checker. As long as its coherent and readable then its fine by us. Usually if one editor finds a spelling /grammatical error in his post or an other editor’s post, he will try to correct it in a timely matter.

Whoa, renoise is one hell of a software package but:
I suggest you buy it, it’s only $50 and it’s a really small company developing it and they need all the support they can get.
