Renaissance LIMITED DVDRip -NEPTUNE *REVIEWED*

I have yet to see this movie (probably tomorrow) but after I saw the trailer several months ago I knew I just had to see this movie. The visual style of the movie is very cool, sort of like Appleseed. I’ll post a little review tomorrow after seeing this movie but I can tell you this, it looks very promising!

In 2054, Paris is a labyrinth where all movement is monitored and recorded. Casting a shadow over everything is the city’s largest company, Avalon, which insinuates itself into every aspect of contemporary life to sell its primary export — youth and beauty. In this world of stark contrasts and rigid laws the populace is kept in line and accounted for.

Kevin’s Review: This movie is really one of a kind. It’s computer generated (CG) and it uses a really cool rendering filter, everything is black and white. But not even black and white like in the old film days, it’s EXACTLY either black or white and nothing in between. It’s also one of a kind because it’s a futuristic noir movie. Noir movies were extremely popular in the 1940’s but rapidly lost their popularity when more action driven movies started to appear. This movie is not only a refreshing noir styled movie, but like I said it’s also a futuristic noir movie. For those of you who don’t know what noir is, if you’ve ever played Max Payne 1 or 2 then that’s noir style storytelling.

The movie kicks off with a very confusing scene which ends rather badly for the movie’s victim. When Captain Karas is introduced you just know he’s the hero. He has some awesome moves and doesn’t do things by the book. A typical noir hero. He is assigned to the case of Ilona he is immediately set off on the wrong foot, which makes for some interesting plot twists throughout the movie. If you don’t like movies that are all about solving a crime or a conspiracy then this movie might not be for you despite of the fact that there are some cool action sequence’s in this movie. If you are in for a good and deep investigation in the year 2054 then your going to love this!

Hehe, I can do some but nothing professional. But I’ll learn through practice! And yes, the visual style is awesome.

Lol, there are like loads of grey pixels you moron. You’d better watch the movie.

  8. October 28th, 2006 | 15:24

That’s because it’s a DVDRip. If this movie had been in HD it would have no gray pixels at all. And now I’m gonna write my little review.

“Lol, there are like loads of grey pixels you moron. You’d better watch the movie.”

Not my fault if your hardware sucks, get a job, and upgrade your screen and buy the dvd in HD. “loads of grey” he said.
Do some research before posting comments like those, now you look so stupid…

There is some colour in the film but just a little bit.

i love the effect, it’s not really black and white it’s more light and dark which works really well in some parts.

It’s basically two extremes that represent light intensity. It’s either black or white. But it’s still black and white. And yes the drawings in the movie were colored (quite well in fact, almost seemed real) but I found that quite irritating because it didn’t fit the overall movie style. In Sin City you see highlighted (colored) objects and characters all the time but in this movie you see color when you’ve already seen 80% of the movie which was in black and white. But oh well…

NewTorrents.info has two versions of the same movie.
Which is better? this version or the Sc version?
I can’t find no info about the Sc version, is there any problem with it?

    Anyway… Thx for the upload
