Regina Spektor-Far 2009-MTD

Regina Spektor is a Soviet-born American singer-songwriter and pianist. Her music is associated with the anti-folk scene centered on New York City’s East Village. Her gold album “Begin To Hope” was honored as one of Rolling Stone’s Top 50 albums of 2006. “Far”, her much anticipated follow-up, once again spotlights Spektor’s daring piano pop, vocal acrobatics and offbeat wit. There were 3 releases of this album from group MTD, and trust me, you wont be disappointed grabbing them :)

Far” reached the top ten on the iTunes “Top Albums” Chart in the U.K. within less than 24 hours of its release. The album also reached the iTunes “Top Albums” Chart in the United States by 8:30am CDT.

    why the f**k do ppl even like regina spektor? a few years back, i was taking a f**king course at uni which she also happened to be in. one day, i pointed out one thing that she got wrong about in class and suddenly i'm picked on by the whole class and ostracized. you'd think that uni students wouldn't act like a group of high school bullies, but sadly it's true. The worst part was the fact that even the teacher got into it and started to target me with insults. in fact, it was the teacher who even after dropping the course, decided to keep my name on attendance record, thus giving me a low grade, even though i already dropped the course and therefore dropping my GPA, which f**ked up my scholarship status. all because of the fact that she's some semi-popular celeb who couldn't even admit when she made a mistake when making her own f**king point, the class who when star-struck became high school bullies and a teacher who chose to f**k over a student that has the balls to go against the tide of sh** and have an original thought, while making his obese, manipulative, pretentious body play nero while rome was f**king burning. it was the worst class i'd ever taken, and i now look at attention-seeking celebs, like regina spektor, not as an artist, but as a well-protected snob.

    Asking why some people like a certain piece of music/book/movie/etc is like asking why some people like eating feces. Live with it or without it. Not everyone is gonna think like you. Don't spend too much time thinking about it and move on. Life's too short, blah, blah, etc.

    I'm sure you all come to rlslog for life lessons and advice. ;

    Leave @11 alone. He or she or it is 100% correct in their genre description of this as "hipster coffee house wuss music".
    I happen to quite like said genre, @11 would no doubt prefer "angry cos my face is pimply and I've never been touched by a female & the prospects of that changing look bleak music", but each to their own.

    @Anthony Minsky
    there are 2 sides to everything. i know that she prolly has one too. frankly, because we generally look at celebs that we adore in a good light we tend to forget that they are not what we expect when we meet them. the fact that i was treated like crap by her, that class, and the obese teacher, has taught me that celebs aren't f**king holy, and they can be downright elitest and relish in the hierarchy of their faux, 15-minute social status.

    @Scrooge McDuck
    have you ever been the subject of a bullying attack? would it be so easy as to forget the f**king 400-pound obese, drunk like nero smirking a**hole who smirked and made snide remarks at you in front of everyone? then having your GPA and scholarship taken away? all because you wanted to defend your own views when being questioned by a 15-minute celeb that's been on a few major talk shows like a kathy griffin d-lister. the worst part was that she joined the class afterward in the ridicule, laughing at me, even when i tried to hold back the tears. if you were ever bullied or knew a friend who was, you could prolly empathise. but i don't expect much from a viewpoint from "Scrooge McDuck"

    oh and if you like criticizing about how others shouldn't give advice about life, then you shouldn't post stuff like
    "Live with it or without it. Not everyone is gonna think like you. Don't spend too much time thinking about it and move on. Life's too short, blah, blah, etc."

    regina spektor is a snob and even a bully. if you like her music, i don't give a f**k. i would have given her sh** a listen and could have turned out a potential fan had i not seen, nor experienced her twisted nature and the twisted minded leeches that hang around a "i wanna be britney, but am less marketable so i gotta be a poor substitution for miri ben-ari and dress like tori amos" celeb like that, but now i see the plasticity emanating from an artist that couldn't even cut it as a c-lister, and she's not even that popular, lol.

    but i did realize that one certainty is really true. you can tell a lot about someone by how they treat you when you're not guarded. it's the ones that treat you fairly during these unguarded moments that are worth your respect, while those that aren't really don't give a sh** about you. hard, but understood well. oh, and that ppl who bully others will eventually get their share of dilemnas. and that's how the universe balances things out.
