Redbelt DVDRip XviD-ARROW

A not very famous scene group ARROW released a dvdrip of action drama Redbelt few moments ago. This martial arts flick directed by David Mamet has a fairly high IMDB rating of 7.4 points and the budget of $7 million is also quite impressive. Redbelt premiered at the end of May so this is a pretty fast dvdrip. Expect standard quality although the video bitrate is little low.

In the west-side of Los Angeles fight world, a world inhabited by bouncers, cagefighters, cops and special forces types, Mike Terry is a Jiu-Jitsu teacher who has avoided the prize fighting circuit, choosing instead to pursue an honorable life by operating a self-defense studio with a samurai’s code. Terry and his wife Sondra struggle to keep the business running to make ends meet. An accident on a dark, rainy night at the Academy between an off duty officer and a distraught lawyer puts in motion a series of events that will change Terry’s life dramatically introducing him to a world of promoters and movie star Chet Frank. Faced with this, in order to pay off his debts and regain his honor, Terry must step into the ring for the first time in his life.

    I somewhat agree with PT. It’s a really low-drama that doesn’t really end with a bang or anything significant. Kind of just left an empty feeling as if something was missing. And everything in between is just meh.

    David mamet is one of the very last great writers in Hollywood. Mamet writing and directing a martial arts film is reason enough to see it.

    Movie manages to somehow keep you interested on the most part, but it’s not until the end that you realize you’ve been had. Intentionally disjointed scenes and a rubbish ending. On par with watching cricket but with no chance of it being rained off.

    Wow.. I’m surprised people are recommending this!
    It’s pretty bad!

    The writing was all over the shop and the acting was horrible.. It failed in almost every way.

    The fighting is probably the best thing going for it and is probably the only reason I saw the whole thing.. The fight scenes were more realistic rather than the over the top garbage that you see in almost every other movie lately.

    Its a good movie, like all Mamet scripts its not for everyone and thats the great thing about him, he doesn’t try to please everyone with the same old cliches. Its not one of his best but it is unique.

    For a Mamet picture not very good. Like a well done TV film. On the other hand Chewy is an excellent actor & is by far the best part of the movie. Watch for Al Bundy in the restaurant scene. Well worth watching for free. Enjoy.

    Seems pixelated on mine too, thought it may just be down to widescreen resolution or some dodgy virus ive recieved within the past week (about 20% of my films looks the same in VLC player 0.8.6i).

    A good action martial arts movie i would recommend is “Story of Ricky” ; can also be written Riki Oh, Rikki Oh, Ricky Oh.
    It’s based on a manga by Masahiko Takajo and Tetsuya Saruwatari.
    Movie is a bit old (I found a vhsrip few years ago), there was a remastered version last month (http://www.yesasia.com/global/story-of-ricky-dvd-remastered-hong-kong-version/1002523016-0-0-0-en/info.html)
