It seems that a lot of foreign horror movies are better rated than American ones… Here’s another example. “[Rec]” is a Spanish horror flick that has gained itself a nice little score on IMDB. I can see why, as the teaser trailer looks genuinely scary to me. Quality of the release is very good, high video bitrate and normal MP3 audio on 1 CD. The spoken language here is Spanish, but of course there are English subtitles added to the linked torrent.

Note: The release is from March 25, so we are untypically a few days late on this one. Sorry!

Synopsis: While covering the night shift at a small-town fire department, an ambitious young television reporter (Manuela Velasco) and her cameraman follow the crew on a call to rescue an elderly woman unable to escape the inferno that is consuming her home. Upon their arrival at the scene, the calm midnight air is pierced by the sound of horrific screams, and the television report takes an unexpectedly dark turn.

    I watched this movie last night and is freaked me out. It is like documentary about these creatures fantastic. My favorite movie was 28 Days but now i have better movie.

    Fantastic. For true horror lovers.

    YOU MUST WATCH THIS.

    I have to thank Releaselog for making me aware of this movie! I can’t remember the last time I jumped out of my seat so many times! I jumped and yelled “Holy Sh1t!!” quite a few times. This makes up for all 8 crappy Horrorfest movies I watched over the last couple weeks.

    Can someone post links to the French movie ‘Inside’ aka “À l’intérieur”? Please.

    BTW… this movie was awesome. Personally, I did not think that it was all that scary, but there were definitely parts that made me jump. Also, I’m surprised no one has mentioned that the main character is pretty sexy.

    I already have those subs - I think we all have. The problem is that even after burning with Winavi the audio goes oos. Alternatively after trying VirtualDub I have the same problem. What I need is for someone who knows more about this kind of thing than I do, to do the work for me. I need a version of the film with the English subs hard coded. Anyone?

    To watch with the subs get VLC Media Player (This can pretty much play any Video File) unrar the subs and put them into the same Directory as the Video File. And then just play the Video with VLC.

    Wow, wow, wow!
    I was going “damn” all the time. A real jewel. One of the best ive seen this year. It`s like blair witch meets 28 days later, and that tells a lot!

    I sometimes think i’ve seen every horror movie ever made. I’m so rarely surprised or held in a decent state of suspense that I’d almost forgotten what it felt like. Even 3/4 the way through this film, i wasn’t feeling it much, but you got a sense that something was building, and god what an ending segment.

    As far as i’m concerned the final 20 minutes or so of the film stands out in it’s level of artifice, suspense and creeping dread with the best made horror films ever made.

    Do yourself a favor and see this. The copy is clear and very watchable. But be forewarned that your girlfriend is going to scratch the crap out of your arm during the ending.

    Holy Bejeeeeeezzzzzuuuuuusssss! I’ve seen my share of horror films but this one I had to stop at just over an hour in because I shouted so loud I woke up the kids. This is a classic and I believe its one of the best scary films I’ve ever seen. The sheer realism of it shot in documentary style makes you forget you’re watching a movie. It gives me the same shivers and sick feeling that Blair Witch did. Gotta love the handheld.
    Watch this. You won’t regret it. Just make sure you don’t spill anything on yourself when you launch yourself off the couch.
    ….OK, I’m going back to watch the ending now…..

    It kept me watching till the end but having seen it, it’s really not that great. If you have seen the Blair Witch Project, don’t bother with this.

    Anyone having problems with the subs just follow there simple steps.

    Unpack ika-recs.rar into the same directory as the .avi file.

    Rename ithe idx & sub file to the same name as the .avi file eg Rec.2007.READNFO.DVDRiP.XViD-iKA.idx & Rec.2007.READNFO.DVDRiP.XViD-iKA.sub

    easy.

    A little disappointed :-( By reading the synopsis : “fire department” “an elderly woman unable to escape the inferno that is consuming her home” = I expected something like a portal between flames, fires and monsters from Hell and the Earth… And what it was? Sort of zombies or people infected with virus or rabid :-(
