Or Download DVD Decrypter for free and say F*ck Real Networks and their intrusive data mining software. What gets me mad is they expect people to pay for this? Pathetic!

From a consumer point of view – its a helluva lot easier and cheaper to just use DVD Decrypter or something similar. Those that are too n00bs to use those sort of programs are not likely to be worrying about ‘backing up’ their DVDs anyway.

a) Real hasn’t had a functioning product in years
b) Real announces this product the week after Telestream’s Drive-in application is released(which does exactly the same thing, down to the 1- or 5-computer license)

While the idea for the product may appeal to families who want to stay well in the bounds of legality, the fact that Real stole the idea from Telestream reflects their dedication to quality.

Back up legally? Unless you live in the Divided States of America, most countries allow owners of original materials to make backups, legally; DRM is not something everything has to deal with. DRM is not allowed in my country, anyone wanting to release here must do so without copy protection.

Most other governments protect people’s rights to make a backup copy of DVD’s, printed materials, music etc. We don’t all live under a fascist Republican regime that supports money grabbing business before citizens.

Some of us still have freedoms, we just don’t need to wave our flags in order to make people think we are still free.

I would like to say, to those of you saying things about the price, remember you are on a site about scene releases. Do you know how many apps get released daily? Surely this one will be cracked and released for those who want it. Seems like a nifty program, but only if it will do it so you can play the videos on iPods. I have no need for it just on my computer, but if I can put all my TV Shows on my iPod, that’d be pretty awesome!

What a bunch of liars:

But when you read through their specs it says the movies can only be watched on the machine they where created on or for MORE MONEY you can watch them on 5 different computers. So anyone that thought 30$ for a useless piece of software was too much has to rip his movies on the laptop and that sure is a pain in the buttocks.

Because the 7 line script that is used to decrypt CSS in the worst case can’t be run on a file stored on the hard drive? I would say it just speeds up the buffering times inbetween.

This is complete crap to get dumb pirates to pay “something”. They don’t even care that the program by itself violates several copyright agreements and most likely the DMCA.

Whoever gets this should be banned from using a computer. Unless of course you get it from RLSLOG and start cracking the backups … but that’s not what DVD backup software is made for, yeah right.
