This better or worse than Diskeeper?

I preffer diskeeper. On every system i’ve used it it’s more, more faster and uses less resources. It’s an awesome Defragging machine.Others will tell u the opposite maybe. But thanks to the scene you can use them both.Test each other for a week or more and make your own impression. If u got a working diskeeper it’s hard to use anything else.My second choice is O&O defrag, and the 3rd is Raxco. Some “experts”say that On NTFS such tools are hardly needed, but us who always download something, large files movies,i think we need this. And my PC certaimly performs a little better since i use an automatic defrag.

The same performance i get from both , I like both.

Better! No activation thing with Perfectdisk..
also think that they have some experience in defrag since the xp defrag is a stripped down version of a old perfectdisk version!

    @ #5
Big deal. MSAV was a stripped down version of CPAV. The Microsoft utilities are there because they got the cheapest price.

I’ve been using the previous PerfectDisk version for two months and there’s been NO improvement. I removed that piece of junk and installed Diskeeper and it immediately started defragging my drive.

If you have an activated version of Diskeeper, don’t remove it.

    @2

im in the same boat. in every aspect, we have a lot in common at least as far as disk software goes… i prefer diskeeper over everything else and its hard to leave once ive got that working version……..

  8. Yeah, right...
    April 24th, 2008 | 00:36

    So, Matri.
Because after installing DK, it started immediately to defrag, it is better than PD?
I remember seeing some comparison, just a little while ago (can’t remember where, though…), where DK was rated inferior to PD (abilities and results). Now, I wouldn’t call anything “Piece Of Junk” just because “I Feel It Is So”. Placebo effect is a strong emotion. As long as someone doesn’t make a thorough test, with clear pattern, you should not stamp something “Junk”. I don’t say DK is bad. I used it earlier, but now when anyone hasn’t published an easily installable version, I use PD…

i think it’s better than Diskeeper, Diskeeper is definitely faster, but Diskeeper only defragments the files while PerfectDisk also tides them up in order of frequent access, meaning, it will move your less used files to the beginning of your disk and the most used files at the end of your disk this makes your hard drive a lit bit faster because the “head” of the hard drive will hopefully stay at the end of the disk more frequently and so read times should be some milliseconds faster…

also because it does that your hard drive free space will be at the end of the disk so this also prevents your hard drive of fragmenting the files again

i have never used PerfectDisk,i used Diskeeper for so many years and im very satisfied with it so i’ll stick to Diskeeper and keep your Diskeeper in auto mode.

Nr 9 I-Faast feature of diskeeper does that, improves the read time of most used files.Of course when i’m reffering to diskeeper i ment pro premier version which has full features.Yes Diskeeper Activation is a pain but it’s been cracked and it will be..And nr5 you are totally wrong.Windows built in defrag is a stripped down version of Diskeeper not PD not that it would matter much anyway. And why does people have to read comparissons when u can test for yourself and see the results???

Raxco PerfectDisk is awesome and better than DK and O&O. my own opinion after using all three defraggers. Thank you Releaselog for sharing info about this torrent.

auslogics disk defrag does the job just fine

In my experience, Diskeeper and PerfectDisk are both very good, the best degrameters. PerfectDisk is strong, and do the job, Diskeeper I-Fasst feature is the only thing making me to don’t forget about it and use PerfectDisk only, because I-Fasst help in putting together the files normally run together, Windows XP/Vista do that without any special software, but not with all files.

That’s one of Diskeeper features too!

@17 really? i’ve used diskeeper before and i don’t remember that, is it a recent feature? or i just missed it? well, doesn’t matter anyway, even if it has that certainly it isn’t as fast as i remember…

    @noone:

Last version of Diskeeper was the first one I tried and there was that feature.
It says that it automatically does that.

Is this version fix the problem with ZoneAlarm installed on the same system? I remember previous version of PD always hang during drive analyzing stage. That was the reason for me to use Diskeeper instead.

  20. ZV
    April 24th, 2008 | 04:27

I’ve thoroughly tested both, PD definitely defragged better,
but Diskeeper is way faster and less intrusive. I’ve defragged with Diskeeper, and then tested it with PD and it would actually say the drive was not defragged enough! Visa-versa,
Diskeeper would not say that after I’ve defragged with PD!

or u could dualboot to linux, not only to avoid this wackness called fragmentation but others like viruses and the spywares and the list goes on and on. but keep xp for those rare occassions when u get a chance to play the latest games… just a thought.

To all who say one is faster than the other….

Unless you’re HD has the same degree of fragmentation, say 10 or 15%, you can’t say one is faster than the other.
Each program works in it’s own right but stop trying to sound as though you know what you are talking about one being faster than the other unless you have benchmarked your HD under the same or at least similar states of fragmented clusters.
You can’t defragment one day at 10% and the other at 15% and then say one is faster than the other - obviously the time you defragment the HD at 10% fragmentation it’s going to be faster than the time you run it at 15%.

perfectdisk is better than diskeeper, it defrag pretty fast and doesn’t make my harddrive sound like its going to explode.

#20 - PD also hung on my machine during Analysis. Always at 88%. But it worked well for months before that. Now it seems to be running (lots of HD access) when the screen saver comes on. Even after I uninstalled it!
    I’ve since switched to DK.

  26. upx
    April 24th, 2008 | 10:07

But DK doesn’t seem to consolidate free space well. So my HD seems to get fragmented more quickly.
I-FAAST & Always On AutoDefrag didn’t seem to help much, so I shut it off.

thanks zen but anticaptcha wins the day and i use this. the auto defrag or whatever is not working for me, but the optimization, compression and defrag is quite nice.

I have been using the freeware ‘JKDefrag”, she works well and is a tiny download.

    Worth a look IMO.

You might want to check the rapidshare attached to the post, installing it deleted various Microsoft executables (services.msc, management console etc) and reconfigured my rights and privileges to certain things causing my steam games to stop working.

has anyone else had dan’s experience?
if so the link should be deleted

i have used dk for years, always from pirate bay, but i cannot find any working crack/keygen anywhere for the latest dk version….does anyone know if one exists?
