Ratatouille PROPER DVDRip XViD-MDP

Ok, this seems to be a third luck (let’s hope so). Previous ones are nuked. As you can see, proper is here so grab it.

Note from NFO: “Sadly the previous SPiRAL release had a bad ivtc. The subtitles were not splitted as well. Enjoy this fully working release.”

Plot: Remy is a young rat in the French countryside who arrives in Paris, only to find out that his cooking idol is dead. When he makes an unusual alliance with a restaurant’s new garbage boy, the culinary and personal adventures begin despite Remy’s family’s skepticism and the rat-hating world of humans.

Unfortunately, still not 720×304 and not the proper aspect ratio: 2.47:1. But if that’s the only tiny “problem”, that’ll do it.

    @ Jason #6
“what does it mean when they say the previous ones have been nuked?”

Nuked is the term used to indicate there’s somethnig wrong. In this particular case, in the 1st one there was 6 seconds missing, and the 2nd one had a video problem called “bad IVTC”.

  20. QuadrupelQ
    October 15th, 2007 | 02:40

Sheez…I think I’ll just wait for the retail-DVD, rent it, and rip it myself like I used to do two years ago. I’m really sick with all this proper-shaite. Why don’t these groups check their own releases? Is it more important to release something 2 hours sooner than to check (watch) it for mistakes so everybody can enjoy a good DVD-rip?

How about banning scene-groups that produce a lot of nuked movies from rlslog? There are certain groups that mess up all the time, so why not just ignore them from now on? Nodbody will miss these ‘waste of bandwith-releases’.

I agree. What is the point of downloading a release where the video is as big as the audio itself. Lowering this to something more realistic could easily make a decent 1CD release. After all, it’s animation.

Bad ivtc is bad inverse telecine. This means that you will see little judders in the picture.

    October 15th, 2007 | 03:11

    @ 11 and 27.

People like aXXo are there for you guys. In my opinion there should always be big releases (2 or 3 CDs with ac3 5.1 or DTS, in fact CDs shouldn’t be the current standard in 2007, we all have DVDs now) and small releases (1 CD with mp3 stereo) for everyone’s expectations to be fulfilled, just as we can find for TV series (one release in 350 Mo, another in 700 Mo with higher definition, and one in 1.xx Go in HD). They really should update their rules or not having rules at all. After all, these are illegal videos. Ain’t the point of illegality to break the rules? Rules, laws, hello, same thing. Because of these rules, groups stick to CDs and 624, 640, 656 or 672 horizontal pixels instead of the maximum playable by DVD/DivX players, ie 720. That makes no sense. But, hey, that’s just me.

  42. Bubu
    October 15th, 2007 | 03:38

    @ beber

I think 1/2 or full DVD-5 size should replace the 1CD - 2CD size XviD rips. We can start downloading in the morning and by the time we come back home it’s ready to be seen. Imagine the quality of a DVD-9 ripped at the size of a DVD-5 in XviD !!! Modern DVD/DivX players can go even beyond the 720 horizontal pixels, you know…

  43. beber
    October 15th, 2007 | 03:46

    @ Bubu

But DVDs themselves are limited to 720×480 in NTSC and 720×576 in PAL, so there would be no point for Xvid DVDrips to have higher definition, they would create pixels artificially. That doesn’t make any sense to give a full DVD size to an Xvid, you might as well download the DVD-R.
I think 700 Mo should be replaced by 1/6 DVD, 2 CDs by 1/3 DVD and 3 CDs by 1/2 DVD. That would make more sense nowadays, and give us the original ac3 or DTS sound even for short films. Even short films deserve multichannel sound. They also have sound designers sound mixers doing a great job.

    @ beber

If you watch a 720 x something XviD, a 720 x 480 NTSC DVD and a 720 x 576 PAL DVD on a software player you will notice that the window size differs. When making the DvDrip you can keep intact the vertical resolution and increase the horizontal beyond the 720 pixels the same way as the software player does. Anyway, I agree that the original 5.1 studio sound is a must if you want to feel the movie the way its creators intended.

this release should get nucked for skipping frames (choppy moving picture) and bad interlace (or bad de-interlaced method used)
just take a look at this screenshot of the same frame:
on top is the frame from this “proper” release and bottom is the previous release

    @ Bubu #51

That’s because DVDs have native anamorphic definition (720×480 NTSC, 720×576 PAL), it’s your TV screen (or computer player software) that gives you back the proper proportion of the picture. So you think you reach 1024×576 PAL, but you actually don’t. The picture is just stretched horizontaly by your player software or widescreen TV. Thanks anyway for backing me up about the audio; I wish the “rules guys” read us.

  56. beber
    October 15th, 2007 | 05:57

    @ Xyu

Indeed, you’re right. Thanks for the comparison of those 2 frames. The so called “proper” is not as clean as the previous one. That’s clearly noticeable on the head shot and the lines on top of the newspaper page.

@ beber… You said “I think 700 Mo should be replaced by 1/6 DVD, 2 CDs by 1/3 DVD and 3 CDs by 1/2 DVD. ” I don’t see the gain, if you’re talking about a standard 4.7Go DVD which has the same data storage capacity as 6 CD’s. Or are you thinking 8.5Go dual layer?
Anyway, I agree with your general suggestion.

First of all I AM TURKISH citizen and Living in TURKEY.

This word related with >>> GERMAN NAZi Massacre.
During World War II, German soldiers killed millions of JEW in the GAS CHAMBERS.

    Well
What about the World War I story ? >>> This is TOTALLY DIFFERENT !
    History:
Government of the Young Turks in the Ottoman Empire takes decision,
This was Deportation + MIGRATION for ARMENIANS.

MASSACRE Is NOT TRUE! IT IS A POLITICAL >>>SLANDER>> PEOPLE & GOVERNMENTS DID NOT DO ANYTHING >>> WITHOUT REASON !

SO WHAT WAS THAT REASON ? IF YOU ARE ARMENIAN, ASK YOUR SELF..WHY?
BECAUSE OF BAD GUYS! (ARMENIAN GANGS, BANDITS, THIEFS, CRIMINALS, TRAITORS)

THIS GANGS, BANDITS, THIEFS, CRIMINALS, TRAITORS (Armenian BAD GUYS)
started to REBEL + started to REVOLT AGAINS Ottoman Empire.
THEY ATTACKED Ottoman-Turk villages, ATTACKED AGAINS Ottoman-Turk soldiers
Killed innocent Ottoman-Turk civilians during WORLD WAR I.
AND THEY HIDE THEMSELFS IN ARMENIAN CIVILIANS.
THIS IS WAS CONFUSE Ottoman Empire Government AND THEY SEARCHED SOLUTION FOR THAT SITUATION.

DURING THE =WAR= HAS NO TIME FOR INVESTIGATIONS.
FOR THAT REASON Ottoman Empire HAS NO CHOICE EXCEPT Deportation + MIGRATION.
DURING THE WAR, =BETRAY= IS UNFORGIVABLE.
    >>> Ottoman Empire’s SOLUTION WAS Deportation + MIGRATION for ALL Armenians.

    SO, GENOCIDE is DIFFERENT WORD!
Ottoman Empire NEVER KILLED INNOCENT PEOPLE of ARMENIANS, Empire forced MIGRATION.

MASSACRE Is NOT TRUE! IT IS A POLITICAL >>>SLANDER>> WE HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD

everything is so nuked nuked… I watched the spiral release and didn’t notice anything wrong with it EXCEPT that the quality could be a lot better if it was x264. I know that these 1337rox0rpwn-scenerules say it has to be xvid but xvid isn’t the best there is.

so if you ask me, the scenerules are nuked a.k.a f**ked up. who made them anyways

CD1, until frame 78906 is the SAME as first spiral release. So, what MDP did? They used the both sources from spiral to make their “own” release.
mdp cd2 is the SAME as spiral: 731.547.648 bytes

    @ desperado

The gain would be 45 Mo on compression for the current 700 Mo standard release (actually 46, but leave 1 Mo for each one so you still can add some Subrip (.srt) files). 90 Mo for the 2 CDs current release and so on. So you still could burn 6 mp3 movies on one DVD5 or a trilogy ac3 5.1 on one DVD5. Haven’t you noticed that you always have some vacant space when you burn your DVD? About 280 Mo wasted that could be used on gaining some quality on compression, on some higher definition than the usual 624 or 640, etc. or for 192 kbps Mp3 instead of the usual 128 kbps. It’s really time that they update their rules. The HD era has already started and yet DVDrips still stick to ancient rules based on CDs, that makes no sense. DVDs have what, 5 or 10 years left on their “life expectancy”? They’ll eventually disappear because of HD, so it’s really time to benefit from quality DVDrips based on updated “DVD rules” and no old fashioned CDs rules.

x264 is not used for obvious reasons!
XviD will rule for a while.
Dont download this one, better rips will be out soon.

This sort of comment, “oos = out of sync. DUH!” when someone doesn’t recognise an abreviation is a bit stupid. “Don’t you even know that” is a child’s attitude.

RLSLOG.net should take this issue more seriously and take stringent actions against new groups like spiral etc., who are more interested in releasing the movie first than concerned about the quality and the type of scene they release. which ultimately burdens us fans. After two fatal mistakes, with this and Pirates, there’s hardly anyone here who’s a fan of Spiral now. RLSLOG should screen before they post anymore from independent groups.
