Seeing how lots of you spammed the comments with “wheres rapidshare!!!111″ and such i think i shall bring some good news. Its online again. Jumping to conclusions and rumours usually never end up being true. When you get to rapidshare.com click on the news tab for the real reason why they were offline.

I just overwrite the ‘hosts’ file in C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc
and I thought it is due to that…

Yes, I noticed it about one and a half hour ago.
But I had the remedy

they had problems with a german organisation called GEMA. its something like the MPAA in the us.
Those bragging on uTorrent… I used to have it but I found something better.
With the TCP Patch (I don’t remember the link but someone else might patch) change your half open connections between 50 to 100. Mine is at the high end.
Dl’d Flashget. Flashget has support for bittorrent AND it also has encryption support like uTorrent. But I noticed I dl faster and seed better than uTorrent and it is not a resource hog.

20. January 2008 - Problems accessing RapidShare
Unfortunately, starting at 5 pm CET, one of our carriers experienced a severe technical problem with their hardware, causing a loss of 50 gigabit of bandwidth. Therefore RapidShare was unavailable for several hours. We already have taken steps to avoid this particular problem in the future.
Any 1 know if .26 (Cloverfield) is real?

Another reason why I stick to torrents…
what kinds of speeds do all you torrent people get? to download a film from a bunch of rapidshare links it takes me like 5min to get everything. I’ve tried torrents but even when i tweak all my setting the right way it takes hours to get a movie, and a ton of people dont even seed after they get something..i dunno.rapidshare works for me.

i’ve already given up on rapidshare a long l o n g l o n g time ago.. from the part of the world where i come from i usually cannot get any slots to download…almost 90% of the time. Could be due to my ISP.
I dun like them..at all. I know others do but not me. Still prefer other d/l sites and tors.
