Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares S05E03 WS PDTV XviD-PVR
I have been waiting for a torrent of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares to appear on torrents to download it. Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (NOT Kitchen Nightmares) is the original version hosted and narrated by Gordon Ramsay. Some differences with the American versions – f-words and swears are not bleeped out. We hear Gordon’s personal comments as he narrates the show which are quite harsh and real. The restaurant the Gordon tries to save in this episode has owners who are absolutely dedicated to the pub. They spend 120 hours a week (not combined) working at the pub. They only took one day off the year which was Christmas day. It’s a traditional English pub with food that tries to be too high-class with food that tries to be fancy. I noticed that with the American version, the background music they have really shapes the mood for the viewer. In the British version, not so much. We are more left to decide for ourselves. Group PVR offers the rip in perfect quality as well.

I am so glad that i can finally get the real stuff. The American version just really sucks. The music is horrible. Ramsay really holds back. Worst of all, we don’t see what happens when the restaurant owners are left to fend for themselves.

Wherever I load rlslog, on load completion my browser starts at the bottom of the page.

the 2nd episode of the american one, is better than all the brit eps combined. classic show! cheers!

I enjoy both versions, but the british one a little more and that is down to the follow up – last weeks follow up was a classic. he gave that wench all the tools to make it a success and she closed it down! But good on that girl chef that ramsay hired!

I also prefer the UK one, the US one seems almost to be faked, especially when they come in and do a huge refurbishment
what restaurant wouldn’t benefit from a $100,000 make-over? in the UK one they have to turn it around through hard work and changing attitudes alone most of the time
btw, this site really is becoming buggy and behaves strangely with screens going to black and resetting at the bottom of the page, I think you should sort out what’s up pretty quick

I hate the american tendency for music over reality shows, it gives an awful fake feel to the entire thing, its stupidly hollywood and pretentious.

But I saw this long ago!
just fast forward to the last part which is an update on how the restaurant has been doing, they used to have all these updates in a special programme so it seems they’re scraping the barrel a bit
@cctv: yeah you’re right, the “update” bit was about 10mins long, with the other 50mins being a repeat essentially! cor doesn’t the wife look like she’s been run over by a bus at the end?
@adam: i can’t imagine what the american version of this must be like – with it all bleeped out does it even make sense? it’d be like “hi i’m gordon ****, today we’re ****, pub for ***”!
The differences between the UK and US version of this show are quite telling and speaks volumes about the differences between the people too.
As a UK person, I can’t understand a few changes they have introduced for the American version:
-Voice over. Why take away Gordon? He is the star of the show and what he said was actually interesting. The generic words of the sickly sweet new voice man are dull as dishwater.
-In the UK show, Gordon actually changes the existing restaurant and how it is run. However, by throwing money at the restaurants in the US version, they essentially create a new restaurant entirely. Be it thousands spent on equipment, a new chef or professional marketing, the business simply can not fail and this feels pointless as a spectacle.
-The RIDICULOUS endings. It is farcical how they attempt to wrap it all up into a neat ball, with nonsense along the lines of “Gordon completed the local fun run to raise money for charity, Anna kicked the drugs and is now back at school, Gordon now sponsors an annual bake off in the community” and other similar tripe. This is insulting to the viewers, unbelievable and over the top.
-The two minute “preview” of the show at the beginning. This simply spoils what is too come by being far too involved.
-How they recap entire scenes after advert breaks. You watch everything twice.
-Unnecessary music.
But all in all, Gordon is entertaining enough and most episode is at least watchable.

The american version is full of drama, fake drama at that sometimes. But that’s what it takes to get the ratings here in the U.S.

About the thing
The american version is the worst – why do we always need a happy ending, just after the amazing revelation half way through final service. Why do shirts change colour during fights? Why don;t people have to pay for the renovation – Peter from the first episode should have had to give up his car to fix the restaurant. The US version is like a soap opera meets a make-over (but on cable so they can swear!)
