Rageh Omaar The Iraq War By Numbers WS PDTV XviD-REMAX

Here is another documentary relating the War in Iraq, brought to us by the UK TV group REMAX. I will probably watch it, to get a look into the actual state from another point of view.

Synopsis: Marking the fifth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, Rageh Omaar returns to the country to discover the human stories behind the vast number of statistics generated in five years of conflict. The programme uses archive footage and eye-witness accounts to illustrate the effects of the war on civilians and military, participants and observers, Iraqis and non-Iraqis. Rageh meets, among others, Kadhim Al-Jubouri, the weightlifter who initiated the attack on Saddams statue with a sledgehammer, Dalal Al Rubaie who works with women who can no longer provide for themselves, and Canon Andrew White, popularly known as the Vicar of Baghdad.

    He really is an excellent journalist, I never use that word to describe any reporters here in the states. I watched the documentary “Welcome to Tehran” that was done by him and it was amazing. An unbiased look at what the Bush Cartel calls part of his so called “Axis Of Evil”. Which is basically any county that doesn’t bow down before the U.S.
    I feel for the Muslim people and the way their home has been invaded by the U.S. backed Zionist regime currently in place in Jerusalem.
    If Russia or China came to the U.S.A. and said “The entire state of Florida is our Holy land and we’re taking it weather you like it or not”, how would the people here feel? It would be war on an epic scale, and thats what’s happening there. It’s the U.S’s policy to put in place a dictator that they can control, in country’s that don’t tow the line. Watch for this to happen again in Pakistan, Iran, and Syria. Soon it will be Venezuela and eventually N. Korea.
    Impeach Bush.

    @5, This is real life you imbecile, not a computer game or film.

    Anyone who can grasp the concept of DEATH, cares about what’s happening in Iraq.

    Unfortunately Americans are brainwashed into thinking, anyone who is not westernized is not human.

    As for the journalist Rageh Omaar, I saw him having a live debate about the issues in Iraq, and it’s true, he is biased. But at least he’s on the side of Justice. Can’t say the same for any media owned by the government (Fox news, The BBC.)

    Do your research, or continue to be just another statistic.

    7.
    How do you think intelligent people will take you seriously when you can’t even use arguments, and use insults instead?
    First, please explain the connection between “the concept of DEATH” and caring about what happens in Iraq in an argument.

    Oh, wait, I know all the answers already. It is as you say because it’s _moral_ this or that.
    You know what, untill you can prove what you are saying and stop spewing lies about something so obviously subjective, we few reasonable human beings will continue to not care about what does not affect us.

    And no, I’m not american. American’s can’t grasp the concept of demanding proof, of anything.

    I want to like him (really I do) but he has certain issues with the truth (not on IRAQ..thats altogether different). His ‘interpretation’ of his childhood (tough East end streets of London etc..) and the reality (a privileged public school education) are somewhat at odds. I hate it when people you really want to like are ‘found out’.

    Just another excuse for more ignorant anti-American comments. If you don’t like America or Americans, stop watching our movies or using our products and sign up to fight with the Iraqis against the US.

    @8

    As for proof, armapit, why don’t you prove to this American who marched against the Iraq war (on the basis that there was no proof of WMDs or a terrorist connection) that your narrow-minded, yet sweeping condemnation of Americans in general, is accurate.

    Another futile attempt to make the average american sympathize on the current state of affairs in Iraq, pity that it will not succeed on a big scale simply because a majority of modern americans dont give a rats ass, they are so deep into consumerism/rightwing/lifestyle worldviews backed by zionist neocon pseudophilosophical doctrines which brainwash through endless media bombardment. The United States Of America are simply playing the current role of Imperium of the World, exporting THEIR worldview using propaganda/indoctrination mainly through media channels which includes Hollywood and they’re doing fine at it, but the powers that be, sooner or later will have no use for them when they fully establish One World goverment,they’re simply a tool,a stage,a scaffold for developing the new homo sapiens,engineered and indoctrinated according to their plans.

    steveo,

    Stop assuming that I even watch television. Like most of my friends and neighbors, I don’t. And I check the news online (from all sources not just American) at least 4 to 5 times a day. I even read Al Jazeera, because I’m interested in hearing all sides of the story. So, like I said. Stop making sweeping assumptions about people whose habits you don’t know.

    Btw, if any of you do want to know what I listen to, check out Randi Rhodes on Air America Radio (use winAmp/internet radio to tune in). You’ve never heard such Bush Bashing as can come from truly pissed off, forward thinking, progressive Americans. At the time of this posting, her 3 hour program will start in a 1/2 hour.

    So get your own education and stop making ignorant assumptions.

    People that have been to Iraq display anti-American sentiment because they see the atrocities that the “Coalition Of The Willing” are committing. They see all the terrible things that MSNBC and FOX news don’t or won’t cover. They hear things like the U.S. military paying poor Iraqi’s to print their propaganda in local papers. They see the after effects of testing new weapons on civilians as well as combatants. They hear of torture and of war profiteering on a grand scale. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that it’s all done in the name of the once great and proud U.S.A. The Senate as well as Congress (Democrat and Republican) all share equally in the blame. For sitting around and doing nothing basically being pussies.

    steveo you said “The Nazi’s. no we face something much worse” I couldn’t agree with you more.

    thats not really the fault of the actual soldiers, they are in essence just robots doing a job…i mean there so detached from the reality of the whole thing that we cant blame them at all for being the animals that the military makes them, personally im sorry for anyone in that situation that actually Understands that what they are doing is Wrong.

    @steveo

    Thank you for the lovely compliment, but I don’t see myself as anything special. Most of the people I know are very much like me. Which is why Bush’s approval ratings have been so low for so long nation wide. grimpor’s views are in the minority and like other war-mongers that claim to be “loyal” Americans, they are openly mocked and viewed as deluded fools by the rest of us. Lumping all Americans into the same group as grimpor’s sort is extremely insulting. Especially when our own national polls - as well as foreign ones - say the exact opposite is true.

    Also, American soldiers are not robots. They know better than anyone how the Bush Administration has betrayed them. In the last presidential election the Republicans had to suppress their votes so that no one would know they’d voted against him en mass.

Or would that be some greedy little banana republic with its hand out to the world bank begging for dollars to stuff in their politicians pockets? Coming from someone living in a country that hasn’t even got a toe print, let alone a footprint in world politics, your words are merely sour grapes and jealousy.

    And because you have a much smaller penis than I (and I’m a girl so that lets you know exactly what I think of your so-called manhood) your own ignorant words mark you for what you really are. A small minded bully without a penis.
