R5 DVD Release Dates for next 2 months

Russian Region 5 (R5) rips became extremely popular lately and there are new movie titles appearing on these DVDs every month, often with a significant time advance against retail R1 release date. What can we look forward to in November and December? These are major titles and their R5 release dates for the rest of the year, which basically means they should appear the same day or day after on the scene. Just for the record, some of these movies were already leaked in the dvdrip quality.

Note: These are the official R5 release dates, this does not mean that a scene release will come out on the same day.

    @28 R5s aren’t always released before R1s, Martin just put those on the list because they are popular. He even posted a link to the dvdrips of them right next to the name. Look closer next time.

    I’m looking for some advice and since I find all my *pirate* booty here and can’t find any place to send this question in, I’m hoping I can be redirected.

    Basically, I want to know the best option here.

    I will be getting a laptop with 1280 x 800 screen size and a HDMI port.

    My current material being normal sized tv and dvd movie rips I’m guessing will look pretty crap being the screen size so big and so I assume playing 720p .avi/.mkv files on this laptop would be fine for tv series and hd movie rips?

    I will also be getting a HDTV and so as you can imagine, I want to start watching content on that too. Mostly movies though.

    My options I can figure so far are to download current sized dvdrips or wait out for the hd rips and connect the laptop via HDMI to the HDTV and play them off the laptop, or I can download DVDR torrents, burn to dvd, and play on the HDTV after.

    I know the first option seems the quickest, easiest, and most effecient, but will it suffer greatly in quality then to actually burn the download torrents to DVD and watch them using a DVD player?

    I hope someone can help me out with this. And again, sorry for posting this in the comments, I couldn’t find any other place to ask.

    R5 doesn’t stand for region 5!! it’s an indicator for the quality of the source…
    P l e a s e _ do your research..

    EDIT: R5 does mean region 5, The scene tag ‘R5′ comes from the region coding on DVD’s.

    It clearly says and even links to the movies that are already out on DVDRiPS. I miss your badly made point (if there was one). BTW DVDR’s usually come out after XviD’s.

    The article dosent for one second claim that anyone should be waiting for SOME of these movies, it is in fact just a list of R5 release dates regardless of whether there are R1/R2 rips of them already.

    So the answers to your questions are as follows:-

    2) YES (it is for real, YOU just didnt understand it)

    Anyone who uses this site and thinks an axxo release is any good needs to stab themselves in the eye.

    He can’t rip for sh1t. Poor aspect ratio, dodgy frame rates, stupid file sizes. How is a 900MB re-encode of a 1.4GB file going to be better. It won’t. F*ck axxo.

    The usually have good video, but always terrible audio. I rather wait for a ‘retail’ DVD-rip than watch those weak rips.

    Some people wouldn’t know quality if it bit them in the azz. I guess those who didn’t comment are all busy downloading those lame aXXo-rips.

    hmm… Does seem that this is particularly old, as you all see some of them are already out… This looks more like an updated version of the list, but it’s already been caught that the dvdrips have already been posted… Sadly, there’s still no sight of 30 Days Of Night in good quality, but then again, it could come in a dvdscreener or may still come out in r5 that no one knows about… But at any rate, hurry it up guys! :D

    The Simpsons Movie is also due to be released on 29th of November in R5. Russian fan site has an ad scan http://springfield.ru/news_f.php?idn=1148. It’s going to be a anamorphic version with DD5.1 english and russian sound, subs, plus all the extras expected in R1 release.

    @earlier comments.
    “R5 refers to a specific format of DVD released in the Former-Soviet Union, which is in DVD Region 5.”, which means it has to do with Region 5, not some kind of quality tag labelled to a release. It’s reliable info from wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R5_(bootleg) and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code
    On that very wikipedia site there is also a link to a schedule for R5 DVD Release Dates ;)

    Do your own research first before taking it out on the mods/admins/owners/anyone for that matter. Much appreciated.

    Some of them are cheap releases brought out to fight piracy and they have no english soundtrack and no extras or subs and quality IS telecine like, sure looks like transfer but they are available short after movie theaters. But this is for blockbusters only, so not all the movies get to be released like that.
    There are levels of releases. Movies are out on DVD-5, DVD-9 “glass” box, DVD-9 digipack, DVD-9 2 disc edition digipacks. And this is all to cover several buyer levels.

    Well #59, I can not really agree with you on that one. Regular TC’s are made by ‘normal’ means by ‘normal’ people. R5 releases are telecines made by ‘professional’ means by ‘professional’ people. At first the scene didn’t really know how to tag R5 and usually this led to R5’s being tagged as TC’s. Though the quality DOES actually (I won’t deny that) differ from normal TC’s in such a postive way they’ve been so-called ’scene-approved’ and may carry their own tag; R5. This doesn’t mean it is only a quality tag. It still stands for Region 5 release. ;)

    I think the R5 releases are really back firing on them, Who wants a screener with Property of scrolling through it, when you have cyrstal clear R5s out so quickly, albeit I concede with sometimes “dodgy sound”

    R5’s are nice and are released pretty fast but with the oscars coming up, there wil be movies coming thick and fast even sooner than R5’s , and most of the screeners are very watchable. if you dont want to wait for the proper quality it’ll do fine. also that russian site wasnt the best for information on releases of the R5 movies anyone have a better site???

    Number 23 = 09.10.2007

    So saying a release group got it out before an R5 does not really make sense to a lot of it.

    Elizabeth The Golden Age was a great movie. I will be waiting for it in dvd edition to come out. That’s the only one I see that worth the wait imo.

    This is by far the best thing you guys have done. Not just logging what IS out; but giving us a guideline to work from of what is COMING out. Great stuff.

    This should be a seperate feature entirely. Albums coming up, games being released, movies on R5, TV shows schedules etc. etc.

    Here is the best way to do it.

    Keep ya laptop and buy some big internal HD’s & external closure’s for them (cheaper than buying a external)…like 1 TB b/c DVD’s and HD DVD’s especially will take up alot of space.

    Download movies to these HD’s only.

    OR

    Go to Blockbuster and get a movie pass and rip all of the movies there…regular DVD and Blu Ray.

    Either way save them on ya external HD’s. Then like you said when u want to watch them just hook the HD to ya pc and hook laptop to HDTV thru HDMI and your good to go.

    I say regular movies burn to DVD.
    Blu-Ray and HD DVD’s save on HD b/c they require more space and blank media for Blu-ray and HD is still too high.

    I have a 50 inch Pioneer Elite.
    I copy all the movies I rent from blockbuster and burn them to DVD. (I have 1300 movies)

    I will build a cheap pc but will make sure the processot is good and video card has HDMI.

    That way I can download or rip Blu ray and HD DVD’s and save them to a seperate HD. Whenever I wanna watch them I just access them and watch them on my HDTV. That pc stays attached to the tv so I don’t have to go back and forth.
    Pioneer Elite has ethernet port as well so that helps also.

    Another thing, I can see people here not paying attention… “What is Rlslog’s source for all of this?”, well go2 wikipedia’s site for R5 bootleg dvd, then follow the link to the releaseoverview (they even have a seperate link where it is translated!).
