R. Kelly – Double Up (2007)
40 year old RnB singer R. Kelly is still making songs, his lastest single I’m A Flirt (Remix) from his latest album “Double Up” has been playing on radio’s like mad…In my opinion the song isn’t that great and i don’t really like R. Kelly, hes just too damn annoying. Anyways for those who like him, you should be happy that he’s back with a fresh new album. The album is due to release on the 29th. This album has a few features from various hip hop and rnb artists including Usher. Enjoy!
Much like his musical forefathers Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield and Donny Hathaway (the latter two also hailed from Chi-town), R Kelly makes songs for ladies lounging in suites as well as homeboys b-balling in the streets. Aptly titled ‘Double Up’, Kelly’s new disc features a wide ranch of songs that pushes the sonic envelope while staying true to his game.
Firing the soul shot heard around the world, ‘I’m A Flirt (Remix)’ is the self-expletory title of the first single. Over a smooth mid-tempo groove, R. Kelly lays down a bit of nightspot realness. Joining forces with T.I and T-Pain, Kelly has constructed the perfect players anthem.
Enlisting a posse of hard-hitting rhyme slayers for ‘Double Up’, Kelly proves himself a versatile performer who can vocally hang with anyone on the mic. From the big beat blast of ‘Rock Star’ with six-time Grammy Award winnder Ludacris to the bombastic appearance of Chamillionaire on the thunderous ‘Get Dirty’, Kelly’s voice and outstanding production is pure fire.
Hooking-up with his old buddy Snoop, the two do their thang on the title track. With a kick of killer bass, this song is bound to have folks house party sweating. On ‘Double Up’, R Kelly gives his fans not only want they want, he gives them twice as much.

Has it ever been determined whether or not Joint Stereo is worse than Stereo encoding… When I convert a JS MP3 to WAV… is it sound the same or worse than if it was a STEREO MP3…? If it is worse… WHY THE HELL are these groups still encoding all their music in JOINT STEREO???
Joint stereo allows the mp3s to be smaller, thus using that extra size to increase the overall quality. It does this by encoding the lower frequencies in mono.
I believe in some instances (I have seen “Mrs. Robinson” cited) to where joint stereo can make some delayed or shifted sound effects sound funny. I have also read that over 160kbps or so, there’s no advantage to using joint stereo.
All in all, the differences are probably not audible.
I hate this fake-gangster wanna-be stuff, but this guy does have this niche sewed up.
