Alpha, Ok, you want to dare me… I’ve been gaming for over 20 years starting with the first Doom, I use to own a rack in the Chicago IBX just for Counter-Strike and Medal of Honor servers. I have no issues at all with my kid cruising around with an MP-90 or camping around with a sweet sniper rifle, as long as they at least go outside and do play, minus the MP-90, or any form of firearm, plasma rifle, nailgun, etc.

The issue is I know people at work that actually set their alarms to go off every hour at night to check for new friend requests and myspace messages. I don’t want my kid playing the “I have more on-line friends that I really don’t know than you” game. If my kid wants an online presence, they can have their own dedicated server and install wordpress themselves. So this has nothing to do with technology destroying their social skills, it is when their entire social knowledge and friends circle is purely based on myspace, and it happens a lot. All I am getting to, is that the site is highly addictive, and really not too informative.

So, no heated debate here, you opinion, my opinion. No one wins.

And if it’s hosted at youtube, which I somehow doubt – how on earth can anybody be expected to watch a whole show on that tiny video-window? s:
10-minute sketches.. sure, but full-length episodes? C’mon..

Oh, and you’ve been out of the loop a long time ago my friend, “TV 2.0″ started way before this.

things that I predict will be the downfall of this series:
-content will be delivered in crippled, low resolution WMV or some other proprietary shit format that’s not xvid/264
-mainly will be viewed in flash-based player: shit quality, offers only a ‘windows or mac’ download which is gay BS
-users will have to register a my-spaces account to view the show
-it will be brain-dead mtv like the hills
-something else like it won’t use torrents to distribute which would make the most sense to do

Wile short, Sanctuary is more or less a half hour network show that had the commercials cut out and it is offered in full HD… It also has seasoned TV actors, that hot blonde with all the guns.. what more could we ask for other than an original story line, and well, Amanda Tapping. All that quarter life is doing is enhancing myspace to make them even more appealable, when they just need to be shut down, and not making TV shows..

OK, you have to admit these sites are an issue when last year for Lent, the biggest thing that was given up was Myspace, and it got news coverage over how hard it was for people to stay away from it, oh so sad and such a struggle, a week without myspace, and what did these people do, the used facebook to make the time pass easier, like damn crack addicts.

These sites are just destroying our social abilities, the young ones might no realize it, but hey, soon to be dad here and I am pre-blocking myspace before the kid even comes out to play.
