Hello! As you can see I’m the new guy here under the GENERiC nickname (impressive isn’t it?). I was RLSLOG reader (fanboi? :mrgreen: ) for about two years now and I’ve decided to join the other side of RLSLOG’s community and apply as writer / editor and keep YOU informed about fresh, hot & new scene releases! Thx to Martin for chance given. Anyways, I’ll try to focus my self mainly on Appz & Gamez sections, that’s what i like most (Yes, I’m one of those so called “download-junkies” - God forgive me…)
What else to say? Hope you’ll enjoy my contribution here. ;)

Ok since this is my first post i’ve decided to be something well known and useful (if you are graphic designer / publisher then it is USEFUL). It’s the newest 8th version of QuarkXPress - golden tool of DTP (Desktop Publishing) area alongside Adobe’s InDesign. FYI, released by PANTHEON group. :)

    I used some older versions of this and it wasn’t even close. Might be worth checking out for yourself though, its been a few years.

    This was really tricky to work out but eventually I managed it - just open the first file with Winrar, unpack the bin and cue and then open with Power ISO and extract the files you need,

    Keygen it and voila - took a while to start up first time but its cool now….

    Nice to get a Windows version as I always see Mac versions but not Windows.

    I have a problem with all Quarks, 6,7,8 they all install fine then when you start them, the windows come up, the it auto-closes.

    Does anyone have a solution for this? Its not XP SP3 ad its not the .Net Frameworks 2 or 3/3.5 doing it… i cant understand why it just closes!

    I installed this v8 on someone elses machine, also XP sp3 and worked fine. But on TWO of my computers, it does not?!

    Yes this problem occurs quite a lot, it is related to a bad uninstall before installing a new version. It may be something to do with the fact that Quark installs itself not in the “Program Files” folder like most sensible programs, but a folder in the root directory called “Program Files (x86)” so you may find that it is not the OS but the chipset that governs this problem. I’m still looking at it - will post if I find a solution …

    InDesign is THE DTP.

    Just wait for InDesign CS4, due between Q4-2008 to Q1-2009.
