PwnageTool 3.0
The Iphone Dev Team just released this very first version from their new PwnageTool, supporting the recently released 3.0 OS for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Since TPB is quite having a lot of seeders, I managed to give you this hotfile mirror. Please read their blog before trying anything!
*Update* Redsn0w has been released. This means the iPod Touch 2G can also be jailbroken.Good advice is to run the .exe in XP SP2 mode
This is the low down on our tools for use with the 3.0 firmware from Apple, read the whole post in full before attempting anything. Because of some bugs and unexpected changes this will be a multipart release, starting with the release of PwnageTool for Mac OS X. QuickPwn for Mac OS X and Windows will follow sometime soon, please don’t bug us about it, we are working flat out to get everything finished to release them.

1. GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a 3G iPhone with yellowsn0w and rely on yellowsn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should NOT use PwnageTool right now. UltraSn0w is not included with this release and therefore your baseband will be locked and unable to use an operator other than the official one it was bought for. UltraSn0w will be release via APT (cydia and icy) soon. If you have an original iPhone (1st generation) then 3.0 unlock works with this PwnageTool release.

It allows to run apps that Apple didn't approve, like CyRecorder (video recorder), xGPS (turnbased navigatie), MxTube (donwload YouTube clips instead of streaming them). It allso allows you to install cracked apps, you need a patched version of MobileInstallion tot get the apps working. When jailbroken you can even get into the folderstructure of an iPhone or Touch

Please understand, this release does not unlock your phone. This only JAILBREAKS your phone. The 'unlock' which is called UltraSnow will be distributed via the Cydia program which pops up on your phone after you jailbreak.
If you had the iPhone 3G and unlocked it with YellowSnow DO NOT USE THIS YET!

I just downloaded from 3. comment (temp). PwnageTool 3.0 Jailbreak was fine with "iPod1,1_3.0_7A341_RESTORE.ipsw". All working, cydia, icey, installer gone for known reasons.I copied the cracked "Mobileapplications" (the working 2.2.1 version) to ipod via openssh and synced the pod with itunes. All cracked apps i used on 2.2.1 work fine on 3.0 too!

Looking for miPatch? On OS 3.0, miPatch is no longer effective. Instead, find "AppSync" on the Hackulous Cydia repo (http://cydia.hackulo.us <– Enter that into Cydia, don't go there from your browser), install that, then restart your phone. Now you can sync apps again!

I have a 32gig 3gs will this jailbreak my phone or break it ?
Here is a custom ipsw for a iPhone 3G 16GB, but should work for 8GB. If you have windows just put your phone in DFU mode and press shift+restore in itunes and use this firmware to restore the phone. After the restore just use the last backup and get all your settings back.

I got redsn0w and opened in Vista (not sp2 mode) and worked like a charm with my iPhone 3G.

to use it make sure your phone is connected to the pc turn it off and put into DFU mode. google it if you dont know how. drag and drop the .ispw onto redsn0w.exe and watch the majik.
0.7 is the best 1 to use. 0.7.1 is made for dumbasses and has severe issues.

Has anybody tried this tool with the new Iphone 3GS? I know it definitely works on the 3G models, but I've been searching various blogs for an answer and found nothing regarding the 3GS.
