PwnageTool 2.0 MACOSX
Long time no see… Hereby I make a new post that will certainly interest a lot of people. This is PwnageTool 2.0 for MAC OSX. It was released this night by the iPhone DEV Team. With this tool you can unlock,activate and jailbreak your 1st gen iPhone. You can activate and jailbreak your 3G iPhone. You cannot yet unlock the 3G, but I think that’s just a matter of time. I know this isn’t a Scene release, but we’re talking about the iPhone here!
Small walkthrough by Cimkeri:
I thought it will be good to write a brief explanation for the people who use the PwnageTool for the first time like me 
Yes I did it and unlock works for me. I also checked the exchange support, youtube, appstore… All works fine.
I had a 2g iphone 1.1.4 that has been unlocked by ziphone software. I did it once and I used it till now without a problem. I was a little bit afraid to try pwnagetool 2.0 because of what zibri may have done to my iphone, but it worked great and it will work for you.
Here are the steps I took;
1. I upgraded to Itunes 7.7
2. Connected my iphone. It deteced the iphone and asked for an upgrade, I just cliked download only. This is how I got the original firmware form apple Then disconnected iphone just after the download started.
3. Before opening the pwnagetool I put my iphone in dfu mode. I tried at least 4 times to do that. The trick was to hold down the power and home botton wait until it restarts. Then pluck it into the dock wait for ten seconds during the apple logo and then release it . It is totally black but itunes recognized it as in recovery. This is the dfu we need.
4. I did not choose the expert mode. Chosed iphone 1g . It had found the restore firmware that itunes had already downloaded. Asked me for the bootloaders. I browsed both of them respectively and then it created the custom ipws.
5.Clicked next and it recognized the dfu but asked for shutdown. I had problem here before, It said that it can not put the device in dfu mode. This time it detected and asked for a shutdown. I just pressed both power and home button until it restarted. Then watch for the screen. It tells you when to release the power button and when to release home button. Then it was ok. My iphone was ready to be restored with the custom ipws. The tool gave a message everything ok and i must just close pwnagetool and use itunes.
6. I didn’t do anything to iphone just left it where it was in dfu mode. Itunes had already gave the message that it needs to restore my iphone. I just said ok. The restore screen was in front of me. Just pressed alt button on the keyboard and while pressing it i clicked restore, and I showed itunes gently my custom ipws. It restored it successfully.
7. After that the phone rebooted, bootneutral was opened automatically , first it neutral the boot and then flashed the baseband. All was automatic. Then after the last reboot, there it was jailbroken and unlocked with all features working.
I hope you guys get lucky as I did.

iphones finally came out in australia on the eleventh. we sell them at my work and theyre like $700 for the 8 gig model but there so facking awesome. so far the only annoying thing is they dont play divx files because microsoft are whores. but maybe sum third party app or sumthing could do it one day.

iPhones are nothing but glam and hype. I had a PPC-6700 that ran on WM5, and it did everything the iPhone can do and MORE. And that was THREE YEARS ago.
There are way better phones out there, and WM6 offers so many more apps and games than you can get with whatever Mac-mobile OS they put on those things.

I don’t care what any of the anti-Apple people say, the iPhone is legend in design. I’ve owned a lot of phones and PDAs, but this is by far the best i’ve had yet.
OK, so it’s more annoying issues are : no MMS, no file bluetooth to other phones – and the worst is the battery life.
On the plus side though, it’s stylish, has a perfect touch interface, software is great to use, has stunning communication technologies build in, software works well. Games work well. There’s lots of reasons why you need one!

Neways, I’ve been playing around with someone’s iPhone (1st Gen) which was teh best. I just want it with 3G and GPS, so now I’ve gotto go get one, but as Frado said, it’s too expensive to buy phone only, unlocked at the moment. To all haters, please shut yo faces because there is no need to hate. MAny phones all they do is just ring and call other people an dmake their phones ring. I bet you guys have phones that are stuck with the contract you have and say that those phones r the best. Nowadays, phones that ring and call people are played out, all these wannabe media player phones and crappy browsers that r not browsers, r just a piece of crap program used to open web pages. I remember when phones never had actual browsers, and with the iphone, everything changed and now these phones like the sprint samsung instinct, looks like the iphone, bunch a copies, that’s what they are. Now we see “actual” browsing from those hones, because iphone came out with it. And these other 2-3gig wannabe ipods, buncha Bologna!!

I’m sure the iphone does all it says it does. My hatred is directed to the people who would spend $200 on a phone, and more importantly the plan to run all the gadgets on the phone.
I still have my free nokia phone, it works, its a phone, I can talk on it. My plan is the cheapest.
