Public IRC PRE Channel and How to use it
Update: we decided to alter this post to a list of public pre channels rather than recommending a certain channel.
Most of our visitors are probably users not extremely familiar with scene slang and with a deep knowledge of the whole “the scene” thing. It’s actually not really needed to know these details in order to find and download a great copy of latest movies. However, if you want to feel little more “pro”, there is one thing which can help you a lot in order to stay updated with all the new releases: joining an IRC PRE channel.

A PRE channel is an IRC channel where certain bot announces new scene releases. They are announced with no delay as here on RLSLOG, where it can take from few minutes to few hours until we post about new release. The cons are obvious: you get just the release name, nothing more, while RLSLOG informs about quality details, plot/features and links to downloads. Most of the PRE channels are strictly private and it’s impossible to get in. However, there are few public channels which are open for everyone to join.
Joining a PRE channel is simple: just install mIRC and click on one of the following links. Please note these channels are open and public right now, but it can easily change within few days or months.
#PRE at tehconnection.eu (irc://irc.tehconnection.eu:6667/Pre)
#PRE at p2pirc.org (irc://irc.p2pirc.org:6667/pre)
#GP.PRE at p2p-network.net (irc://irc.p2p-network.net:6667/gp.pre)
#PRE at zenet.org (irc://irc.zenet.org:6667/pre)
#Bitgate-PRE at ircline.org (irc://irc.ircline.org:6667/bitgate-pre)
#PRE at irchighway.net (irc://irc.irchighway.net:6667/pre)
#PREchat at zenet.org (irc://irc.zenet.org:6667/prechat)
#Br4inW0rM~PrE at wondernet.nu (irc://us.WonderNet.nu:6667/Br4inW0rM~PrE)
Alternativaly, you can also click on this link to join our IRC channel and ask for help. After connecting to a pre channel, you should wait a while to see how it works. It’s nothing complicated: there’s a bot announcing all the new releases at the time when they are pred. Each release is also put into a category like XviD, 0day, DOX, TV, etc.
That way, you will be able to see all the new releases instantly after they are released on the scene. However, it’s nothing that exciting after a while. That’s where a real pre bot comes into the play - this one is way more interactive and more useful. You can use it to search for old releases, find info about nukes and release size and you can also get details about various scene groups.
The basic command for communicating with the pre bot is “!pre RLS_NAME”. If you type in for example “!pre Wanted”, a bot will return you latest release of movie Wanted. You will be able to see the exact pre time of the release as well as its size and eventually nuke reasons, if it has been nuked. The output is always limited to 1 release.
If you want to see 10 releases, use command “!dupe” instead of “!pre”. The output will be returned to you in a private message after a while. This is especially useful if you are not looking for a concrete release, but rather a best version of some TV show or a movie.
The last important command is “!group GROUP_NAME”. This will give you a fairly detailed stats about any scene group, including the number of their releases, number of nuked releases and first and last release. You will also be able to see a “nuke ratio”, which obviously expresses the portion of nuked releases.
Other commands are pretty straight forward, feel free to try them out (they don’t have to work everywhere): !lastnuke, !lastunnuke, !last, !last10 and !stats. I am sure that many of you will find this information useful as it allows you to stay even more up to date with the scene. If you need to ask about anything, just switch to #rlslog and shoot your question in public chat. Please note, we are not affiliated with any of these PRE channels at all, we are just informing about them.

1st. Yay for mIRC, long live rlslog
cool gj
sounds good il try it
LOL
“However, if you want to feel little more “pro”, there is one thing which can help you a lot in order to stay updated with all the new releases: joining an IRC PRE channel.”
Joining irc.austirc.net isn’t a command. /j are the commands
Feel a little more like a pro? Kind of sad isnt it? I love rlslogs effort on posting releases but thats kind of pathetic…
Whats even sadder is your making it sound as if rlslog is part of/accepted by the scene…which its not.
@6, how are we making sound that way? By having a pre chan? lol
heres the latest version of mIRC for those of u who don’t have it.
http://rapidshare.com/files/140091115/mIRC.v6.34.Incl.KeyGen.and.Server.Patch-F4CG.rar
lmao the funny things is bet some of these editors have never even seen a topsite or even close to knowing group members u guys are just scene rls posters a pre bot echo from some lame guy doesnt putt u closer to the scene
@6 your pathetic, What a lame comment have you made there.
It’s nice to see something like this emerging, some people with will find it handy,
and others like you need to bash it, because its not usefull for you.
go back to your cave pls and leave us alone
That is true, some of our editors don’t have ftp/topsite access. Good call lickit!
guys who are really intrested in the scene and how it works look up a mini series some possible x sceners put togother its really close to how the scene works its quite intresting think i was called welcome to the scene watch series 1 series 2 bit more lame
umm .. your irc chans gonna go down pretty soon if u make a predb so public .. ah well
how do i get to the pre-channel?
i did this:
/s irc.austirc.net
/j rlslog
/j pre
/j pre-chat
but it’s not working.
excellent!!!
and yeah nobody on this site has ever seen a topsite …right!!!
@ 15 .. dude open mirc n type copy paste the lines one by one lol .. first it’ll join the server … then type /j rlslog to join the channel .. then type /j pre to join the pre channel
this is awesome, thanks alot
Uh, I don’t want to sound rude, but how exactly is that “your” channel, when it was active even before you moved to AustIRC?
It’s good to see rlslog moving past the childishness that went on a few weeks ago, next step is remaking the forums!!
/server -m irc.p2p-network.net
/join #rlslog-pre
For French User and else !
How the hell does this work, every time I type something it says “You need voice (+v)” wtf?
“Uh, I don’t want to sound rude, but how exactly is that “your” channel, when it was active even before you moved to AustIRC?”
exactly what i was wondering.
Yay! thanx Martin … great post.
im getting the same thing 21
The reason RLSLOG will never get near the real scene is because they sell warez…
Please DONT click on RLSLOGS link.bucks/upload jockey links
@ 23. cause he’s @ there .. ffs
People getting the +v are using chatzilla I take it? I’m getting it too. Download the MIRC that they offer in the front and use that and it works. Chatzilla has different commands I think….
I would very much like to feel like a pro, but do I have to buy another Internet for this or I can use the one I bought last year?
lol @Re:
now how many hours till chan is taken down??
hahahahah Re
its up to you of course , but i think you make a big mistake posting this.
~quote - dumb fux~
now how many hours till chan is taken down??
/~quote~
why taken down? it’s not illegal to make irc-chan with new releases? they can’t make u take chan down cause u’re only sharing “text”..not nfo, not files, no cracks, no how-to-make-game-work-illegal-way, not free boobies,..oops..wrong place..but ye..it’s legal to keep such channels, only depends from server administrators..if they don’t care about it, nobody will..
hey martin the word is 1337 , Pro is for nubs…
ZOMG i so “PR0-1337″ right now for saying that
plz dont ban me…….
Noone was talking about legality, more like sceners will find where is the echo coming from and cut it
Taken down by hackers, and people hating on rlslog. Not taken down by the gov, or other enities.
I`m getting this error when joining the server “Open Proxy found on your host”
but I`m not behind a proxy?
If the “scene” sees this I would bet my left ball that the prebot will get DoS’d and any ops as well. Publicly announcing a pre channel is a dumb move.
i know this is gonna sound pretty stupid but without me having to trawl through loads of pages to find out, please can someone tell me is it possible to download releases off mIRC or is it purely just an info tool? thanks in advance
@39
depends on the channel ur in and server. the channel posted here is just for info basically. other channels have bots that you can download from.

sad, sad, sad. 1337 is KIDDIE chat -it lets the rest of us know where the playpen’s are.
@40
thanks

@ motive
what you said was very true, well in a sense but not for the public pre channels. if they had posted one of the highly +s pre channels, then yea i’d expect certain people to do something about it. more so, the person who the connections to get access to the pre.db should be the most worried in the sense for public rooms. in any sense, the private ones are always better, and usually only gain access by knowing someone connected to the scene or the pre.db group. and plus, austirc sucks anyways, and their pre channel is plastered here and on wikipedia, wouldnt be too surprised if a mole is in there just watching the activity.
whats the best IRC search website these days? i havent used mirc in years, and the last time i did, ircspy was the best…..whats good now?
http://www.xdccing.com or http://www.packetnews.com
[ PRED ] [ The.truh.about.MP.and.the.paysite.PH.behind-SCENE ] was pred [ 27 seconds ago ] in [ XViD ]
how do you make it just show the releases and not the people entering and leaving?
/server hide.join.part.messages
Get a quakenet IRC and i’ll join it.
i have probelm when connect to server tell, ur banned open proy on your host, wtf i dont have open proxy?

Sounds like someone has never run an IRC server before and forgot to recompile the kernel to have more sockets available to applications. OOPPS! Big noob admin mistake.
[11:33 24] ERROR All connections in use
Recompile the kernel with more sockets open and you won’t have this problem. hehe
Rapid share links please!!!
i guess if you are a fiend this is a good idea. personally, i can wait a few hours until something’s released at the normal places.
As far as public pre channels go, this is by far one of the most sucky i’ve ever seen. irc.rizon.net #pre if you must use a public one. Also, stop introducing noobs to the idea of pre. It will blow their tiny little minds.
I would very much like to feel like a pro, but do I have to buy another Internet for this or I can use the one I bought last year? http://www.runescapegogo.com
is there a irc server using non-standard port? the usual ports are blocked by a lot of ISPs…
is there any RSS for such annoucments like at the IRC channel?
If you don’t like rlslog’s PRE chan, see others: http://irc.netsplit.de/channels/?chat=pre
public pre chan —>
irc://irc.irchighway.net/pre
irc://irc.wondernet.nu/predb
omfg, don’t publicize pre channels, that’s info that shouldn’t be public in the first place. then the government sees it and can easily use it as evidence to crack down on groups and sites. oh well…
very good move to remain in the competition …well done
“omfg, don’t publicize pre channels, that’s info that shouldn’t be public in the first place. then the government sees it and can easily use it as evidence to crack down on groups and sites. oh well…”
You must be joking…I hope.
And this is why I left the scene in the first place it got to public. You are putting groups at risk and everyone who logs onto the irc at risk. Unless you use a bouncer or a some other way to connect to the irc your information is being logged: ip, information, text. Is there an SSL connection to this irc or is everyone just letting there ISP log the channels they are in.
agree w 68. this does not help by making info about the scene MORE public. IMO the fewer amount of people that know about the scene the better. I like this site a lot, but some things the majority doesn’t need to know about. The sheer amount of people learning about the scene puts us all in danger. In this case bigger is definitely not better. The bigger P2P gets, the more danger the scene is going to be in. People should have to search this info out for themselves by sifting through many many pages.
why when the scene makes pre channels they are always encrypted with SSL, Blowfish, and high security. You go to one of these public pres you never know who is in there watching you. It could be an FBI, it could be someone from the ISP, it could be a hacker. IRC is probably the best place to spread virus. I hope everyone knows this and watches what they do.
I wonder how long it will take for them to find out who is echoing a private pre-chan for you and then ban them.
Still waiting for my reply for post #18..
@18 its not there channel they wasnt even surpose to post this channel the channel op didnt know about this post till 2day hes now stopped the #pre
YOU caused the pre bot i use to close down
very well done!!
its taking me alot of strength to refrain from swearing at you
OMG you destroy all public RLS chanels on internet. THX RLS LOG!! I love you :*
Martin I wonder what your number will be in the joint..you are a real dumbass..charging for adds and now really displaying your pure ignorance by giving all axx to PRE…
you really SUCK asswipe
Yep Yep
As part of the scene for a number of years I hope your ignorance finally gets your stupid ass shut down for good…
Greed is good but not when it comes to just plain sharing…
LOL
Tske head n00bs and other IRC fans..Martin will take you down with him..stay off where he directs you.
FYI
Sad truth is Rls log has barley scratched the surface when it comes to public pre chans.. Wake up theres 100’s of them Open yer eyes!
