Psychoville is a British comedy starring Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton. It is written by Shearsmith and Pemberton, two members of the team behind the comedy The League of Gentlemen, and is described by the BBC’s press office as “a dark character comedy mystery featuring the weird and the wonderful”.

The series features a diverse set of five characters: Mr. Lomax, a blind Beanie collector; Robert, a telekinetic dwarf who is in love with a panto Snow White; Joy, a misguided midwife; David Sowerbutts, a serial killer obsessed man-child; and Mr. Jelly, a one-handed clown who makes balloon animals with his hook. But though they come from differing backgrounds, all have one thing in common. Each has been anonymously sent a black edged card bearing the words “I know what you did…”

Episode 1
Meet Joy, Mr. Jelly, David Sowerbutts, Robert and Mr. Lomax, whom all live in different parts of the country soon become linked when they all receive the same mysterious message reading “I know what you did.”

    Mr Jelly was fantastic. Dawn French was terrible.

    But not a patch on 'The League' unfortunately!

    To compare this to LOG is stupid, two completely different concepts although some visual aesthtics were kept.

    I think its a freakin amazing programme, im hooked already after 2 episodes, made me laugh ALOT!!

    Yeah really stupid, I mean it's not like they have much in common is it? Apart from of course the same crew, the same cast, the same writers, the same format and even some remarkably similar characters..

    Pull your head out, personally I really enjoyed the show and I am a big fan of LoG so I am not really too concerned over the similarities but they do exist and they're glaringly obvious so comparison is anything but stupid.

    I am very pleased the laughter track has been skipped, I find it very difficult to watch LoG now because it's so intrusive. I never remember it being that bad first time round!
