Protector Plus v8.0.C01 Incl Keymaker-CORE
Another day, another release from CORE. This time its Protector Plus 8, this release made me laugh a little for a few reasons. Firstly, in CORE’s NFO the protection they list this app as having is “Damn Lame”… nice call! 
Secondly, Protector Plus’s homepage lists this as “range of antivirus products are known the world over for their efficiency and reliability.”, now how many people can honestly say that they’ve heard of this? I know I haven’t. ANYWAY, I’ve had my fun. Enjoy this release….

Well Protector Plus saved me back in the late 90’s when I got infected with the dreaded w95.Spaces virus this was the only anti-virus package that detected it at cleaned it at the time!

That said, after testing “Protector Plus” I’m getting back to Nod32, the cpu use is lower (except at startup).

As far as protector plus,stick with what you got.Pplus used to be really good but seems to have fallen behind and if you have a slow comp like me (750 mhz) you will want a program that uses less cpu.

seriously though i find mr. x to be entertaining and i would stop visiting your site if he was to leave.
First of all. For the Solar New Year, I had to re-format my hdd and re-install windows (from 64bit to 32bit). It didn’t really ruin my night, but it took the enjoyment out of spending time with my wife. After I re-installed windows (XP SP2) I was found with this dilemma… Of finding a substitute anti-virus program.
I crossed out AVG-free off the bat because of it’s “overly” knee-jerk reaction to the keygens that sceners supply us. It deletes them without confirmation.
I went to Avast! because of it’s email (Outlook) protection and it’s over-all protection (P2P, network, webmail, IM) BUT… It’s such a resource hog. I tried about 3 times within 5 years to give this one a try and I am sorry to say, that until the fix the resource “gathering” I won’t go back. It’s nice for free, but only if you have about 2 or 3 gigs of RAM. I have 1 gb ram.
On 64bit before the re-formatting, I had Avira Anti-Vir that was supplied here. But I noticed that (maybe a month?) after updates it was “hanging” up when manually scanning files. It did not scan automatically after the first scan since install. It was ok, but, If I did indeed had a virus… Why didn’t it tell me? I think it was a bug… I could be wrong.
I am stuck with Avira Free edition for now. So if you guys can suggest any names that would be awesome. Kaspersky for sure, but I don’t do betas. I don’t believe in paying for anti-virus programs. These people (corp.) think of devious ways of how to keep their money flowing.

If the virus you have is called “Generic” something… Then I am assuming you have AVG? To my knowledge, there is NO “harmful” virus named generic. Unless it’s a new trick to create more panic and fear.
I am safe with FF with Ad-Block plus with No-Script. EVEN if I had NO anti-virus.

Well, I would like to differ on the negative comments about this program.
I did uninstall Avira free edition and installed this one. The keygen worked fine and it “took”. I did a scan after tweaking the settings and while watching “Arranged” (see comments about the movie in that post).
I excluded all drives except “C:” and executed scan. It found 1 (one) backdoor trojan “plugged” in the uninstaller of a long time running program I have called nCleaner Second by NKProds. The “trojan” was called “W32/Zlob.Btm.Downloader.Trojan”. I read up on it and it gives the attacker remote control of a compromised system.
I quarantined the infected file and plan on leaving the program install. However, I will notify NKProds of their “poor” programming intents.
This anti-virus program has won me over. I will stick with this for now.
Thank you. And if anyone suggests I COMPLETELY uninstall the nCleaner Second please explain why and I may consider the option.

Ok folks. I have an update.
This program DID find an offending trojan (1 none the less) in my system hidden in the uninstaller of a long time use program I had.
I had to uninstall Protector Plus though. It would seem that they had somehow “connected” the virus updates with the program update, hence they would not let me update the definition files. My firewall (nameless
) crashed, and I noticed in task manager that the services were “in” and “out”. For example. The services running would have no image name or user name. Like as if it were “blinking” for a lack of a better term. So, I had to uninstall in safe mode (successful) and I am back to square 1 in search of an awesome (FREE) anti-virus (not counting AVG or the likes). The offending exe (or was it dll?) accessing the firewall was called “PPIUP” or something like that. Whoever still has it installed please list the exe (dll?) correctly for me please. More than likely, it was trying to call home.
Just a warning folks. My system is clean at the present moment.

据韩国媒体报道，7日上午10时49分左右， 利川市一个冷冻物流中心的地下室发生爆炸并引起大火，当时地下室里共有大约57人正在工作。
