    This is not "The Prodigy" its Prodigy a Hip-Hop group attempting to ride on the fame of the prodigy name.

    please, stop noob comments…

    You don't know who is prodigy of mobb deep ? it's a legend of hiphop.

    mobb deep (prodigy + havoc) is in the music game before THE prodigy techno group.

    But then does that mean Prodigy ( techno group) not only copied the name but also copied the Ant symbol this dude has on his head?

    The Prodigy kicked into the rave scene in 1990 with a release on XL, and had heaps of major releases by 1994/95..

    Mobb Deep/Prodigy wernt really around till 1994/95.

    @14

    i don't think prodigy (of mobb deep) copied prodigy techno group.

    Mobb deep is a very old famous hiphop group since 1993 (1995 for the first major cd)

    prodigy (of mobb deep) is incarced when i wrote this comment

    @12/14
    According to wikipedia, both The prodigy(UK) and Prodigy(Rapper) have been ACTIVE since 1990. Therefore at the same time. I'd pressume none stole the name or anything and is just an unfortunate mix-up caused by the low-tech expossition of names during the pre-internet age.

    I too was disappointed to see this was a release from the rapper and not the UK electronic group :(

    @evileye yeah it would be real embarrasing if you put something in your cd player that has real lyrical content… I love The Prodigy too, but yall need to stop hating on hiphop on this site… complain when you see another top 40 rapper ripping off clueless fans… open up to some real hiphop like Immortal Technique, Non Phixion, Jedi Mind Tricks, Demigodz or start off @ the basics tryin out Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Kool G Rap… hiphop aint all about drugs and hoes, but people who think it is let it appear that way

    I thought this was THE Prodigy, but it appears to be some ass-sucking loser who can't come up with an original name instead. Please verify.

    I went to a "The Prodigy" gig in August 1990. And afaik, Mobb Deep weren't about until lyk 1992 ? So all these people tryin to say "The Prodigy ripped his name off" is complete n utter B*ll*cks.

    The Prodigy : 30,073,913 plays (944,254 listeners)
    —-
    Prodigy : 1,368,987 plays (139,976 listeners)
    Mobb Deep : 3,703,983 plays (211,186 listeners)

    Last.fm figures say it all tbh :)

    What a loser, trying to steal the heat of one of the most sucsessful drum and base acts since 1990. this prodigy guy was probably still in diapers when THE PRODIGY were kicking ass whit their music !!!!!

    That's probably the word that you've all been looking for.

    btw, if you all were such big fans of "The Prodigy", how come you didn't knew that did not release a cd around this period.

    so again, thanks for the cd!

    At least one of these two Prodigy's deserves serious kudos for not dragging this name clash through the courts. Musical acts do it quite a bit…

    eg The reasonabley popular 90's Manchester shoe gazing band switched from Verve to The Verve after losing a legal battle with a no mark jazz record label.

    "hiphop aint all about drugs and hoes, but people who think it is let it appear that way" says EddieGlock

    Very true, that's rap music, the egomanical violent brother of straight hip hop. Seems like Prodgigy isn't helping clarify matters with song titles like…

    03. Prodigy – Straight Murda
    06. Prodigy – Murda Murda
    15. Prodigy – Serial Killer
    16. Prodigy – Walk With A Shotgun

    seems like alot of you need to stfu

    People liek the prodigy most probally listen to prodigy form mobb deep

    The big funny thing about it is what i call fresh people, muddy cuddled twats talkin about what titles mobb deep has rapped about and perceiving the music to be so bad

    Please go and run into your mothers arms and suck her tits until they start to milk again

    Mobb deep are gangster rappers that rap about what it was like coming up in their community (the side of the community they choose to divuldge themselves in)

    You twats pointing out on titles like murda murda and what not and then pointing your scotland yard fingers at that – need to step off prodigy because they would hate for a twat like you to gloriify their music but you can see that your just a goodie goodie! using music like the prodigy to let your parents say dont worry darling he is just wanting to make us feel like hes a naughtyboy.lol

    appreciate eoples music or dont even bother to talk about their or pay them any mind

    both the prodigy and prodigy are both legends in their own right

    Nuff said!!

    thansk rlslog for the post.

    @29
    The only way that British punk boy band would of been making music while Prodigy was in diapers is if they were recording at age 5! Get facts straight before posting ignorant comments.

    Also if there is still debate on who holds the name first, the Webster dictionary holds that crown…Prodigy,(noun),has been around since the 15th century! Post lame ass questions and comments you get a lame answer.
