Pride DVDRip XviD-DiAMOND
It’s no longer than few short minutes since DiAMOND pred an another release. We all know this group doesn’t release any crap and always uses retail R1 sources, but “Pride” doesn’t fit among their other highly-popular releases too good. It’s actually 82th worst movie on IMDB, which already says something. One the other side, movies like Norbit were also very low-ranked but many people found them funny. I will leave this one with saying this is a perfect high-quality release once again…
Based on true events, Lionsgate’s PRIDE tells the story of Jim Ellis, a charismatic schoolteacher in the 1970s who changed lives forever by founding and coaching an African-American swim team in one of Philadelphia’s roughest neighborhoods. Directed by Sunu Gonera, this uplifting drama stars Academy Award® nominee Terrence Howard (HUSTLE & FLOW, CRASH, RAY), Bernie Mac (GUESS WHO, OCEANS 12, BAD SANTA) and Kimberly Elise (DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN, MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE, JOHN Q).
The year is 1973, and Jim Ellis (Terrence Howard), a college-educated African-American, can’t find a job. Driven by his love of competitive swimming, Jim refurbishes an abandoned recreational pool in a down-at-its-heels Philadelphia neighborhood with the help of its custodian Elston (Bernie Mac). I have the same feeling at times. A LOT of black productions get low ratings, even if they are good.
I know this movie isn’t as bad as its rating, but what are the people at DiAMOND thinking puting this on 2cd’s while Black Snake Moan was on just one. This movie is slghtly shorter and isn’t very popular.

uhhh… most of the black movies do suck… like you got served and stomp the yard… people really arent racist. Ive seen lots of black actors in wonderful movies and on imd got rated high…
It’s not black movies that get a low rating. You can’t get much more racial than Spike Lee’s “Do The Right Thing”, and yet it’s rated 7.9 on IMDB, “Menace II Society” is a 7.3, “Boyz n the Hood” is at 7.8. It’s shitty movies that get low marks. I don’t care who the actors are a movie about swim coach isn’t ever gonna be a good movie.

Also the comments regards racism against black productions is pretty ignorant also, as Atari says above, it isn’t colour, but quality that defines a movies popularity (although ‘black’ does not only mean American – what about “City of God”, #17 on the IMDB Top 250!)
Don’t lower yourself near the aforementioned SCUM’s level by making generalised and unsubstantiated statements based on one films rating. The low rating is probably down to the fact it has pigeonholed itself into the “inspirational sporting/true story” category, which can be okay if you pick a popular sport (American Football, Baseball, etc in US & Football in the rest of the world, but for swimming you really need to pull a blinder with the script and acting performances.

Maybe the movies are just crappy? I know that the 50 Cent movie, & Drumline were crap. Thats two just off the top of my head, and i’m sure if I cared enough I could list off several more.
