PQI flash disc: 2 GB in 10 grams
Asian manufacturer PQI specializing mainly on memory products and all kinds of flash drives and cards announced a new light-weight flashdisc. PQI U172 offers capacity from 512 to 2 GB - but mainly, it’s so small and tiny, you will have problems to find it in your pockets. The sandblasting surface treatment on the aluminum casing gives it a rugged feel and the built-in software security functions give users an extra layer of protection. This drive works also on MAC OS, Windows Vista and Linux operating systems. Functional, fashionable and also cheap, that’s an ideal combination.

No you are waY out to lunch on that. The plan with Vista was to use flash memory built into harddrives and soon to be built into motherboards, to store the boot files so Vista would boot faster. No to use it as ram.
Actually you can use it as ram - but it is only interesting if you don’t have much, and then Vista itself is pretty questionable.

I don’t get it, how can someone think this is an advertisement? There is no link to some product / eshop with this product. If you list back through Tech News section, you will find many many similar products, which have been simply covered here, because they seemed interesting to the author. Don’t find anything more in it…
It can be advertisement in a sence that you mention their product on your blog which has a large number of hits everyday i would presume, besides whats so unusual with 2gb usb i’v got a 6gb :=)

I think Pretec was first with a thumbdrive of comparable size (iDisk Diamond: http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/en/news-10549-iDisk+Diamond%2C+even+in+your+ear.html), but it never came any bigger than 128 megs. And it just wasn’t available anywhere except for asia. It beats the sony solution imo, because of the hole for attaching to a keyring or something.. The Sony needs the bulky (ugly) storage case to prevent loss.
And we all love martin and rlslog, but I agree the movie release news is a fair deal more valuable than the rest of the posts
