    I think i’ll continue with winrar aswell. Thanx for the report though. Here’s a question. When i get a .zip set of files
    i.e. **a.zip, **b.zip, **c.zip, etc. Is there a way of unzipping the set automatically with one click in sequence or i’m i stuck unzipping them manually, one at a time?

    TIA

    OK I had just downloaded some porn so I had a few zip’s to try this on. First and major flaw is that it basically made my PC inoperable while it was extracting. WinRAR slows me up a little bit but nowhere near as much as this proggy. I guess thats why they added the feature to schedule extractions so you can do it while your napping.

    I’ll be impressed when a product is out that will also create RARs. Freakin’ proprietary formats.

    @20 DJ
    are you extracting the file to another partition or harddrive, if so, you want to use the extract to fuction in winrar, that way it doesnt have to move the file to the destination after extraction. it’ll just extract directly to the other harddrive/partition. i had to figure this out myself and its cut time to about half, just a guess.

    Personally, I just use Total Commander. Sure, you need Winrar on your system for unpacking multi-volume archives, but it’s called automatically by TC. Pack/Unpack multiple files, batch unpack Rar/Zip/Etc archives, pack each file to a separate dir, etc. All with a common, two-pane interface.

    However if you really want/need a standalone program to handle all your archiving needs, try IZArc;

    http://www.izarc.org/

    The feature list looks comparable to PowerArchiver and it’s free.

    in a world were
    WinRar > *
    there must be
    7zip > WinRar
    since WinRar is WinOnly and has no advantages over 7zip except
    “the Scene” excessively uses it
