A P2P group ViSiON released a dvdrip of great 2008 animated family movie Ponyo on the Cliff. This Walt Disney story was already released by scene group GiNJi some time ago, but that released didn’t spread at all so this is your second chance to watch it. Expect cute Japanese animation and all-star voices of Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Noah Cyrus and others. Audio is Japanese with English subtitles.

From the Academy Award-winning director and world-renowned Japanese animation legend Hayao Miyazaki comes PONYO, a story inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Little Mermaid.” Already a box-office success in Japan, the story of a young and overeager goldfish named Ponyo (voiced by NOAH CYRUS) and her quest to become human features an outstanding roster of voice talent, including CATE BLANCHETT, MATT DAMON, TINA FEY, CLORIS LEACHMAN, LIAM NEESON, LILY TOMLIN, BETTY WHITE and FRANKIE JONAS as Sosuke, a young boy who befriends Ponyo.

    did i read the description right? 'Audio is Japanese with English subtitles.' is this the english release or did the poster make a mistake in the description?

    I think I would rather listen to a banshee being burned alive while my parents have noisy sex than hear Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett and Noah Cyrus speak Japanese to a Miyazaki film.

    That being said, I'm sure that those actors are not speaking Japanese in this release but I am curious to know if this version has them as the English dub or if this is just Japanese audio with English sub.

    This is the Japanese version that was released on DVD in Japan on July 3. The U.S. will have a limited theater release of this film starting on August 14th. My guess is that THAT version will be the one that has been dubbed [a la Hollywood]. :)

    Apparently this film will be released in US theaters on August 14, 2009, which I'm guessing is around the time an English dub will be available.

    This is not a Disney movie, Disney simply does the english Dub's but they always to an excellent job.

    This is yet another superb Hayao Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli movie.

    Even without knowing anything about it I know it will be excellent.

    Though I recommend getting the movie from a known Fansub group.. not a scene group.

    Thats not Disney this is Ghibli a Japanese studio, and the best in terms of animation, Disney only have the rights to distribute worldwide outside Japan and some other asia countries. Please don't ever compare disney films with a Miyazaki's, he is the godfather of animation.

    you should grab the version done by fansubbing group nizk… much better translation and quality (1.95BG).

    yet another classic from studio ghibli.

    This a good movie, but I am so sick to death of it now.
    It's promoted everywhere and non-stop here in Japan, and that theme song is really starting to get annoying.

    However, still give it a go. You'll be glad you did.

    @ 47 thanks for that but I already have that one, I am after this one as that rip is not that much better than the cam that was released ages ago and the colours seem muted like it is lacking in saturation.

    I downloaded the movie from the first RS links from ANDRE just to find out what i hate to find out. the movie is an .exe file. WHY?? i am a mac user, whatever i upload is always in general format so everybody gets it ok.
