coverHello youth of the nation. The new P.O.D album has just arrived on the scene a few minutes ago. Well known metal band. Store date is the 4th of April so this very elite grp brought us this release 2 days before retail. Enjoy.

P.O.D. is a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum, Nu metal band from San Diego, California. Formed in 1992, the band’s line-up consists of vocalist Sonny Sandoval, drummer Wuv Bernardo, guitarist Marcos Curiel, and bassist Traa Daniels. The initials stand for Payable On Death, referring to the death of Jesus Christ and a testament to their Christian faith.
With their third studio album, The Fundamental Elements of Southtown, they achieved their initial mainstream success; the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA in 2000. Their following studio album, Satellite, continued the band’s success with the hit singles, “Alive” and “Youth of the Nation”, pushing it to go 3x platinum.

    The problem with bands like P.O.D. is that their “metal” credentials do not hold up to scrutiny.You see, metal is about freedom, rebelliousness and non-conformity-these are the very reasons for its existence. That heavy, abrasive guitar sound that sets it apart from other genres of music symbolises its break from “normal” society’s idea of “what music is meant to sound like”. this is the reason why it created such an uproar among religious zealots when it came out. It became “the Devils’s music”. Metal fans became rejects and they were proud of their dislocation and break from ordinary society.But then christian kids wanted to be cool too and play metal.But they had to conform, they did not want to break away or rebel, that was too much for them.They had to keep their parents happy.Thus Christian metal was born.
    What is funny is that now the same people who were previously condemning metal as an instrument of the devil have absolutely no problem with this music.It was just noisy Gospel.They will not object to a few kids tattooing themselves and screaming their throats out as long as they are singing “Jesus is great.”There are “Christian” Death metal bands now, no wonder they are so popular with kids. They make things easier.

    POD suck.Christian metal is an oxymoron.If you want to be a metal-head, listen to a band that is brave enough to offer you an alternate philosophy to the prevalent one.Do not side with bands that condemn non-christians and homosexuals and oppose abortion to take away the right to freedom of women around the world.
    Death to false metal.

    Times do change, but threre are still enough people (in the US and nowhere else, naturally) that still believe that metal is the devil’s scream or whatever. But metal has been mainstream for… a while. BTW, it was rock in general that the Jesus freaks hated in the 50’s… they hated elvis & beatles ffs. In fact, they hated everything new. Why should P.O.D. cater to this group of inbred morons?

    Mr Metal is not Conformist So because POD wants to sing about God they are not a Metal band because they dont conform to your views. The point is metal bands should be able to play what ever they want. As for backwards people who think rock is the devil well some of it is the spawn of satan but eh doesnt make it all evil. And its just a style of music so because some one has a certain believe they cant play that style any more, you really want every one to conform and be the same but claim your different eh.

    Don’t comment. Seriously. You’re the reason why our world sucks. This band has touched people even if you don’t know those people are. They influenced a whole genre of music. Rap Metal. AND they were Christian. Mainstream and christian then was huge deal. Most of the bands out today are Christian. Maybe these guys paved the way to be brave by telling everyone you are christian. Don’t knock them because you like Slayer. They were good in their prime. Leave ‘em be.
