So if you convert a dvd to Divx or Xvid would it automatically be under one Gig or there are settings in there provided to choose from?

I’ll stick to DVD Decrpyter + FairUse Wizard.

Since it’s what I learned on.

But never hurts to try this out someday.

I use Dvd Decrpyter but since I am now using Vista it has problems. Also no upgrades available for it anymore. Maybe this will do the trick :)

    @ Miamilobo
o_o weird. I use Vista and Decrpyter doesn’t have any problems.

    @ James
I can get it to *NEAR* scene/aXXo quality with DVD Decrypter and FairUse Wizard…but they are better of course. :p

I usually let it detect the video bitrate and fps for me, then set the audio bitrate to 128kb/s.

I think I’m gonna try this out tomorrow, since I just bought some DVDs.:D

I’m still looking for DVD ripping software that will successfully rip Terminator 2 - the DVD with both versions, double-sided, multi-angle (NTSC version, metal cover). I’ve tried a sh*t load of software and the audio is always out of sync at the end. I’ve tried regular stereo audio and AC3 multi-channel - nothing works. I’ve never had an issue with any other DVD - just this damn Terminator 2. DVD-Fab is supposed to handle angles - but it doesn’t here.
Will Plato? Who knows - I’m just tired of trying.
    If anyone has any suggestions…

Some movies i encode with autogk like Valant come out great but then others like Casino Royle was crap.
I also use gk for encoding..

AutoGK is great for family guy i must say.
I could easily release my rips as tv rips.

Probably the easiest avi to dvd converter is Convertxtodvd.

Installed and uninstalled this an hour later. Not very impressed at all. Considering some menus have spelling mistakes the only good point about this app was the nice looking gui.

Options had very little tweaking compared to dvdfab or convertxtodvd. If you are looking to make divx files either use divx’s encoder or try one of the vast list of similar progz.

Which one ’s better Plato DVD Ripper or DVDFab?

  25. Flash
    January 10th, 2008 | 16:43

I’ve been using DvdFab for a long time and still prefer that, but you shouldn’t just rely on one app, I still use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter too, they still work fine on most dvds.

I assume Lee was joking or misunderstood the question.

Otherwise RLSLOG should look make a staff replacement :p

Nice to post this app but it just doesn’t cut it for any advanced usage. Great for beginners though.

Zaidi - use convertXtoDVD - it will take any file format and make a DVD out of it. Lee is just being stoopid

does this convert video like avi to Zune?

  31. Not Stupid
    January 11th, 2008 | 02:40

#12 Desperado, I believe the problem you may be having has something to do with processor and RAM. You have alot of stuff running in the background?

Doing jobs like this requires everybit (sorry, no pun intended) of the CPU and RAM “power” (for lack of a better word). Most of this rips and/ or conversions more than likely have been done on high-end systems (custom built or not).

LMAO, I can see it now… “But, I rip/ convert DVD’s on my Windows 3.1 with only 128MB of Ram. AND I built it! You’re Stupid, Not Stupid.” ROFL

I just installed it, and uninstalled it. And installed Xilisoft DVD ripper again. This was not what I was looking for. I use DVD Decrypter for stuff like this.
