this movie was very good, i enjoyed it, way better than Death Proof, the quality was good... perfect. btw, the reason people say it looks crappy is beacuase the directors were making a tribute to 70's films they used to watch back when they were lil [obsessed with movies]... but the story line is great.

Just saw it...I think this is much better than Death Proof...especially the character EL WRAY (Freddy Rodriguez).

Alternate torrent link for Planet.Terror.UNRATED.DVDRip.XviD-NeDiVx (no hassle of rejoining or uncompressing the files and usually much faster than other torrents) for those who might be interested…

like..i knew that after reading comments i would find out that a real dvdrip of this flic IS NOT OUT YET, and i'll have to wait.
I do not care about SCENE fights, i just want the best available. Fow now, they FAILED. ALL.
Lately, i was impressed by 20th, i give 'em that, but they don't do DVDrips (do they??) Anyway, if you guys think that i posted here to rule for some SCENE or another (the way most bitches here do) you are mistaken. I don't give a rat's ass about any of em.
My problem is not being able to buy the actual DVD, and having to use the internets..
It's sad when you're not in control.
Peace

I dont get it. I have already download a dvd rip that was about 700 MB and its an unrated version, but says it is Grindhouse unrated version and has Planet Terror and death proof in it. But why is this version single, does it have anything more?

FiNALLY!

People tripping still!!

-Deathproof was INSANE! You kids dont appreciate the classic carchase; the getaway, french connection, of course, vanashing point. Quentin's first car chase is DEFINITELY OFFICIAL!!
-Planet Terror is a classic as well! Taking the old zombie horrors to a fresh level. Things you have never seen on film before while keeping the humor in it! Rodrig is RIDICULOUS! Tarantine OFF THE WALL!
Big Ups to Grindhouse. thnx RLS.

Best thing about this movie was the Machete preview !
Death Proof IMHO was a way better movie, oh well each to his own.

Everywhere I look the aspect ratio says 2.35:1 but the rip itself is 1.85:1?

That kinda sucks when Death Proof is in scope and Planet Terror is in flat, especially when doing a "fan edit restoration" of GrindHouse using the unrated versions, like I stayed up last night doing.

But Planet Terror is sorta not in sync, so I'll do it again tonight.

But I did get a version done and watched it today. Except for the sync problem in PT, it came out ok.

For what it's worth, Amazon lists the AR of the unrated, extended edition as 2.35:1.

Regardless, there's a 2 CD rip posted to korea.binaries.movies, done by "BKL". The nfo claims the resolution is 800 x 432 (1.85:1). Of course the moron who posted it didn't bother to include any par files, so don't download unless you have a really good server.

Well, there are now rumors that the Planet Terror DVD itself IS actually in 1:78 (the DVD-R release from MPTDVD, which claims to be from an R1 retail source, is also in 1.78). The theory is that Robert Rodriguez himself is personally responsible for, or at least ordered, the pan & scan job, because he originally wanted to do the film in this aspect ratio (pretty much all of his other movies are 1.78 or 1.85, so it's pretty standard for him), but had to do the theatrical version in 2.35 to match the AR of Death Proof. So, this release might actually be alright, as far as AR goes.

One way or another, I'll be buying the Best Buy-exclusive steelbook edition the day it comes out. :)

Also, to all those people who say they like axxo's releases because they always work in standalone divx players: Seriously, what sort of bizarro stone-age do you people in, where wasting a CD-R for every movie you want to watch is somehow better and more efficient than having a graphics card that has TV-out (which pretty much every card made in the last 5 years has)?
