Planet Terror UNRATED DVDRip XviD-NeDiVx

Here’s the other and what I think is the better part of Grindhouse Planet Terror. This release comes courtesy of group NeDiVx (who have been releasing quite a lot lately) in DVDRip quality. The quality is great since it’s a DVDRip so nothing else to say here. The movie itself (Planet Terror) is a great movie that deserves DVDRip quality, it’s an action, shooting and gore filled film that I think all action movie enthusiasts or anyone who wants to see a great film will enjoy. Unless you want this in x264 format (HD) you might as well get this and if you enjoy it buy the DVD when it’s released. Downalod and Enjoy :)

Plot: Maverick filmmaker Robert Rodriguez details the violent struggle between a ravenous army of zombie-like humanoids who have taken control of the planet and the remaining survivors who refuse to go down without a fight in this nonstop action-horror hybrid originally released as part of Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s ambitious Grindhouse double bill. A dangerous government experiment has unleashed an abominable contamination that turns normal people into murderous mutants. Now, as an infinitely multiplying horde of frenzied psychotics flood the Texas plains, a dangerous outlaw named Wray (Freddy Rodriguez), a sexy stripper named Cherry (Rose McGowan), an unscrupulous smuggler named Abby (Naveen Andrews), and the curiously incapacitated Dr. Dakota Block (Marley Shelton) must try and make their way to the helicopter that could provide their only means of escaping to a place untouched by this nightmarish scourge that threatens to wipe out all of humankind. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

I agree with #83. I have never had problems with .avi files in ages (I can even watch HD films without problems) and I can’t see this movie in my PC nor my DivX player, it always get stuck after the “Dimension Films” logo.
No one has the same problem? This is very strange, if somebody can say that he could see this release without any problems, comment it please.

    thanks

P.D. : I downloaded this from the torrent link mentioned in the post (and the .sfv veryfier said the files were ok and the rar files uncompressed also ok), I will try to download it from another source and I will tell you.

DP + PT + Trailers in between..

    http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3824230/Grindhouse%5BPlaneT.Terror%5D%5BDeath.ProoF%5DDvDRip-FxM
I want this to get the trailers in between, but I will wait for the 2CD AC3 release of PT..

And just for the record, I used to get aXXo all the time, click on the tag cloud, you know..

But after reading rlslog for the past year, and slowly looking at some of the scene releases, and the technical aspects of the rls, I do have to admit that there is a difference.

I just saw my first 720p movies (Black Book and SM3). They are huge downloads. 6.6GB in case of SM3. But just looking at the video and audio quality - quite unmatched - I’ve never seen such level of quality before in a movie rip. Opening SM3 in MPC on my 1280 screen has the video covering the whole width of my screen!

aXXo 1CD 700MB vs a top of the line 720p at 6.6GB? The difference is so clear to the eye/ear. So it stands to reason that the quality of 1.4GB vs 700MB is also different.

axxo quality if pretty much indistinguishable from scene releases unless you have at least a 40inch HDTV. For those with smaller sets, especially those still stuck with CRT, you get 90% of the video ad audio quality at 50%-60% of the file size.

;-) ;-);-);-);-)@115… Yep… if you go to that link, you’ll see that the video resolution is 672×286. Do the math and the aspect ratio works out to 2.35:1. In other words, the complete widescreen edition. As I’ve said before in this comment section, NeDiVx has cropped back to 1.77. The ends of the movie are cut off in this release, dudes. So essentially, you just DL’ed this rip for nothing. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence should realize that there still is NOT a decent rip of Planet Terror available right now in 1400MB.

devious, thanks for the info. Much appreciated. Axxo has some great releases and owns the Top 100 on PirateBay, so I’ve been sticking with with the axxo releases. Didn’t know the quality isn’t up to the best standards. I guess I’ll try sticking with Diamond, probably stay away from nevdix since this one is cropped so badly.

What’s everyone’s basic opinion of the best group in the scene? Diamond?

Errr, are you sure this is an unrated edition?? i didn’t watching it all the way through, but it looks pretty much exactly the same as the cinema release?? well bar the fact that it was “grindhouse” that got the MPAA rating, and this is only just “planet terror”? the previous release of death proof was an extended cut of that film with the missing reels included… this release however doesn’t include the deleted scenes… it’s exactly the same as grindhouse if you were to walk out after PT finished and DP started… I could be wrong and i’d be interested to know if there is any additional cut in this release… because if there’s not, it’s kinda sly calling it unrated, when it would easily get an R rating, being that it’s just a proportion of the R rated G’house… atleast the Death proof release can be labeled unrated or even extended being that it had additional footage that wasn’t cleared by the MPAA… i’m wondering how many DVD releases this film is going to have… 1. initial DP extended release, 2. original PT, 3. combined “grindhouse” release, 4. Special edition DP (clean cut release no scratches, polished) (with commentary), 5. Special edition PT (no scratches), 6. 3Disc 10th? 20th? anniversary disc (with special features bonus documentary)….

    @ #128:
Uh, this version of Planet Terror is about 20 minutes longer than the one seen in theaters as the first half of Grindhouse. seriously, it’s 25% percent longer, how could you not notice that? There are many new scenes included.

And chances are, they’re only going to do 2 DVD versions: This “Extended” version, and the eventual DVD release of the full double-feature theatrical version of Grindhouse. They aren’t interested in releasing “polished” versions or anything like that.

    @ #116:
Uh, no. “axxo quality” is easily distinguishable by anyone with a properly functioning pair of ears, if nothing else. The audio quality is always shit.

I’m afraid that’s not quite true. DL’d this version to check and it still only has ‘Machete’ trailer (at start of PT), same as NeDiVx release.

So unless you want the FxM version for it’s 2 movie / 2CD qualities, then the existing releases are fine.

It’s a pity that FxM never watched the ‘Grindhouse’ Cinema release before making such a bold statement in their NFO!

You are comparing a Blu Ray rip vs. a DVD rip ?

Axxo provides, he obviously give the masses what they want. He might not deserve all the credit he gets but then again he doesn’t TAKE any of that either (afaik) so therefore i don’t understand the bashing.

LOL! AXXO’s movies never have this problem! Is that to much to ask? Full standalone dvdplayers compatibility? It’s not that hard! Even I can rip a DVD in a way to be compatible with the most dvdplayers! I think scene releases are way over-rated!

Well, there are now rumors that the Planet Terror DVD itself IS actually in 1:78 (the DVD-R release from MPTDVD, which claims to be from an R1 retail source, is also in 1.78). The theory is that Robert Rodriguez himself is personally responsible for, or at least ordered, the pan & scan job, because he originally wanted to do the film in this aspect ratio (pretty much all of his other movies are 1.78 or 1.85, so it’s pretty standard for him), but had to do the theatrical version in 2.35 to match the AR of Death Proof. So, this release might actually be alright, as far as AR goes.

One way or another, I’ll be buying the Best Buy-exclusive steelbook edition the day it comes out. :)

Also, to all those people who say they like axxo’s releases because they always work in standalone divx players: Seriously, what sort of bizarro stone-age do you people in, where wasting a CD-R for every movie you want to watch is somehow better and more efficient than having a graphics card that has TV-out (which pretty much every card made in the last 5 years has)?

  50. Rekrul
    October 1st, 2007 | 20:56

For what it’s worth, Amazon lists the AR of the unrated, extended edition as 2.35:1.

Regardless, there’s a 2 CD rip posted to korea.binaries.movies, done by “BKL”. The nfo claims the resolution is 800 x 432 (1.85:1). Of course the moron who posted it didn’t bother to include any par files, so don’t download unless you have a really good server.

  51. deaconthorn
    October 1st, 2007 | 21:57

Everywhere I look the aspect ratio says 2.35:1 but the rip itself is 1.85:1?

That kinda sucks when Death Proof is in scope and Planet Terror is in flat, especially when doing a “fan edit restoration” of GrindHouse using the unrated versions, like I stayed up last night doing.

But Planet Terror is sorta not in sync, so I’ll do it again tonight.

But I did get a version done and watched it today. Except for the sync problem in PT, it came out ok.
