    Thanks for the rls, I’ve tried Pinnacle Studio quite a few versions ago, and wasn’t impressed, I’m hoping they sorted the bugs ‘n ntsc-pal issues. So what do ppl think? whats the best easy 2 use editing softwear? For doin hove video (dv) and say, music dvd’s (from all types of media i.e mov, avi ,mpg, xvid, divx)keen 2 give this ago

    My wife used studio 11 with no problems.
    She was able to pick it up pretty quick without me having to show her much.

    Looking forward to trying out 12.

    Adobe Premiere (Elements or CS#) is the better product in just about every aspect of video post-production.

    Pinnacle Studio does seem to handle editing MPEG-2 video much better, though.

    Studio’s video scene detection system more convenient too as long you’re not in a hurry in your production timeline (indexing video files consumes quite a bit of time).

    This is an ok product.I tested this and for some reason this application is very slow to load or do any edits. compared to cyberlink director 7 this product falls short because director 7 has more advance features and a lot easier on the memory. I installed this on a fast computer with sufficient ram more the what is required but in my experience it is just too slow also it messed up me direct upload to youtube which I was using on power director. I am sticking with cyberlink and ulead studio way better performance. adobe premiere pro 4 has all the advance features you can want but go to their website and you will see a lot of people reporting bug errors on this application.. Sony vegas is ok too just that it has a deeper learning curve but very good for detailed editing. BTW there isn’t a working crack yet for sony vegas 8 if there are cracks curtain features are disabled.

    pinnacle is a GREAT beginners to intermediate vid editor everyone. i’m running v10.8 still and didn’t upgrade to v11 cause i only saw HD vid as the upgrade but now with v12, it might well be worth it to upgrade

    I got this copy of Sony Vegas 8:

    Sony Vegas Pro 8.0b Build 217-AVCHD-MPG-AC3 FIXED

    with a Digital Insanity key gen, and that seems to do the job, but if there are features curtained Id be interested to know what (if you know) - I haven’t really noticed any.

    good for you fozza. I haven’t tried that yet. as far as I know based on what people have been saying it registers the application sony vegas 8 but features like effects (not to sure which one it is) is disabled.

    I´v dl this one few weeks ago[2w]. Tested for a while, but this software has bad output and input support! You can´t load .vobs, u have to change the file ext. to .mpg , mpeg .

    by doing that, not all but many .vobs file are useless afterwards. For vEdit its pretty easy, the tor. idl included alot of plugins too,vistedit something for gpu acceleration effects.

    Didn´t try that one, but overall,notknwoing the price for this software, i must say : its still the same s..it as vers.8 SE ![which i still have].

    Output form. divx[DIVX ext.] avi and mpg.

    so overall not great, also it installs alot of “trash”.

    After that, i did dl the adobepro2 and tested too. Same problem as pinnacle[no direct vob import!]. Good is, after renaming the .vobs, app2.0 tell you that the file is damaged/corrupt! On pinnalce no warning/info.

    If u have to select, go with adobe. If u own a HTPC and u need to rip or convert or wahtever, then use vista movie maker or avidemux[logo plugin,and some photoshop talent].

    With avidemux u can import any s..it, and with the logo plugin u can add ur own made fullscreen, 50% titles. With vista dvd m. only problem is the .wmv format. But i recommend both, before buying premier[i got sony vaio version] or pinnacle!

    Just had look over it and all the effects transitions etc are all available, so yeah seems good to me.

    @Not Stupid

    I used Pinnacle 11 a bit and got frustrated by it - very buggy. Switched across to Vegas and while its takes a bit more work to understand it, certainly a lot more flexibility and allows for significantly more complex projects.

    This program is filled with trojans so I don’t recommended on installing it. I had the same experience that the person above me did. Nod32 just went wild on me when I pop it the cd to install the program. So if you want to spend your whole day removing trojans be my guest

    Ok so I got the program and it installed perfectly. Did some scans with antivirus and found no viruses.

    But! Something is seriously borked with the keygen or the program. I unlocked almost all the menus, transitions, etc. Studio 12 then confirms that they are unlocked - but they are NOT there when you return or restart the program. I’m talking about the tons of HFX transitions and such, they won’t show up no matter how many times I “unlock them”. Only a few of the items in the “Activation Keys” window are inside the program after opening.

    Any idea on how to resolve this ?
    I’m considering moving back to buggy old Pinnacle Studio 11, but atleast there I have all the transitions, effects and extra menus.

    Chris, I had the same problem. I transferred all the files from Pinnacle 11 using the inbuilt file transfer program in Pinnacle 12. All is working now.

    I don’t have Pinnacle Studio 11 installed anymore. Should I un-install this new Pinnacle Studio 12 and then re-install Pinnacle Studio 11. After which I install Pinnacle Studio 12 on top ?
    Seems like it’s a lot of work in order to get Pinnacle Studio 12 working correctly … (thinking that I have to run the Pinnacle Studio 11 keygen and unlock like crazy there first).

    And if this is the case; Is it enough to just remove Pinnacle Studio 12 in the add/remove programs (Vista), or do I need to run some sort of special program to fully remove all traces of Pinnacle Studio 12 ?
