Pink Floyd are an English rock band that initially earned recognition for their psychedelic rock music, and, as they evolved, for their avant-garde progressive rock music. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows. One of rock music’s most successful acts, the group has sold over 200 million albums and an estimated 73.5 million albums in the United States alone. worldwide

The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is Pink Floyd’s debut album and the only one made under Syd Barrett’s leadership, although he made some contributions to the follow-up, A Saucerful of Secrets. It has been regarded as one of the most influential LPs ever made, being a tremendous influence on the psychedelic rock scene of the time, and much of what followed. The album has whimsical lyrics about space, scarecrows, gnomes, bicycles and fairytales, along with psychedelic instrumental passages. The album celebrated its 40th anniversary on the 5th August 2007.

    I would like to be the first to say.

    Fuck Pink Floyd. I think they’re complete utter garbage. They only have one decent song “Money”.

    If someone didn’t tell you over & over again, How great Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd is… You would have never thought it yourself.

    Just my two cent.

    Pink Floyd is one of the GREATEST, if not the greatest, band that’s ever been!!! Well actually I don’t really know who they are or their music, but my daddy likes ‘em :) . I think I’ll be getting this for daddy.
    OFFTOPIC: A.J. or Martin someone put up a fake movie torrent in the games section of NTi. This one to be exact—> Death.Sentence[2007]DvDrip[Eng]-aXXo. Shows a lot of seeders and leechers, but it’s been reliable reported to be a fake.

    @Product, if you can write something that has signature tune of 3/4, 4/4 and 5/4 that works like “Bike” then you can make comments about anothers musical talent.

    Because a properly ripped mp3 like this one is virtually identical to the original file. Also because FLAC files require a lot of extra bandwidth for something barely anybody can tell the difference of. Can you? Do a blind A/B test before you harp on about FLAC and how mp3 sucks. If you can actually tell the difference then more power to you but I highly doubt you can.

    I’d like to be the next to say, this is the only good album the band ever made. Money is the WORST steaming pile of horse shit the band ever made, and furthermore, put your nads in an ant pile. Syd Barrett was a genius the likes of which shall never be seen again. Owe it to yourself to have a brain, and listen to this album. Of course, don’t BUY it, download it for free. Cheers, out.

    jesus fucking christ you all have no taste or sence in music pink floyd is the greatest band out there, yes syde was a good song writter, but he was to baked out of his face to understand his mussic his music was way out there, but roger is the best song writter out there. he has so much emotion in his voice, if you are able to understand his music, they all lead back to syde barette going through life, and then ther is david and amazing guitare player, but out of all the concerts is have been to the best would have to be roger waters- dark side of the moon, great show 150 bucks well worth.

    just listen to all there music and you will understand how it all realates

    Pink Floyd are a genius of a band. Roger Waters is the greatest singer songwriter of our time, but just not everyones taste in music.Gilmour is the best guitarist ever no doubt. Money was written specifically for airplay so people could hear their album, it worked as Dark Side of the Moon is one of the biggest selling albums ever.Roger Waters with the Pro’s and Consa of Hithiking and Radio Kaos are an extention of his and Floyds talents. Long live Syd Barrett.
