Releaselog

PFa is very polite

I just got an answer by release group “PFa” after me answering their first email about their internal issue. I posted it just to hear your opinion about this email they send to Releaselog and most of you became aggressive. I told them that I have nothing to do with the torrents and I think they understood this. The thing is that I will keep posting their releases once they are on public, they have good quality and they release regular good old movies. I don’t take this as a personal email so that’s why I’m sharing it with you all. Here you can read their 2nd email to releaselog. My only question to them is why do they release if they don’t want to share? If they want to share movies with each other why do so much work to release it a scene and just not produce one single .avi file? In my opinion AXIAL is right now the best group that brings old movies and after this WPi and PFa.

Photographs were produced for fun only!

Heh you cut off half the email in that pic.

But atleast they are having brains about it. But again, rlslog is NOT putting the spotlight on PFA. PFA is putting the spotlight on PFA by simply releasing ANYTHING.

It’s pure insanity to see a group actually saying they don’t want their stolen works stolen. Atleast these guys are being kewl about it and alot of the reaction was unwarrented.

But it also begs the question, if you don’t want your shit out there, umm, maybe don’t put it out there?

there are various means of sharing files between a select group of contacts without EVER having to worry about leaks. As long as groups go on blissfully ignoring common sense, this will happen.

Like being reviewed on rlslog is the deciding factor in getting busted, these guys must have shit for brains, you are already being watched, more than likely a few of your dumpsites are monitored by the “man” just like most groups that have been busted.

I mean it’s pretty simple to keep your internals internal if you know what you are doing. What’s next do they expect p2p sites, completely unresepected in the scene, to follow scene rules and not release any nuked releases?

If you come to rlslog and get a torrent you are actually getting it from 1 of a few different sources. NTi, Piratebay, mininova.

The only way a torrentlink can appear here is if it’s on a public site, which has nothing to do with anyone here.

I doubt the guys are even paying attention to this anymore but let me say it. We DO respect what you do and what you are risking. If you feel this puts your group members at risk follow through and get the torrents removed from the originating sites.

Basically you are contacting google to tell them to remove a microsoft knowledgebase article.

With that, you should be proud that your groups internals are sought after to the point someone is leaking them from your sites.

thanks for your efforts and I sincerely hope nothing negative comes from these leaks, as I expect alot of others here, specifically the management, feel aswell.

what i don’t untherstand, why those releases must be ONLY for groups? The scene is so ego that they only think of thereselfs? And we, ppl out the scene want to see a movie also? I don’t got to forums or site’s or use torents to see these movies. So I’m screwed that i ain’t in the scene. If its only for those ppl in a scene group, why do you still keep releasing? We don’t see anything of this. I’ll hope you don’t get me wrong now..

Ok if there was some racial tint to this I don’t like it, I draw the line there.

    @ Nr

Internal are to stay interal to that specific group for various reasons. Usually, but not always, to leave a spot open for a better release in the same format. Look around here and other sites for some scene rule guidelines it’s all explained in there.

But to sum it up for you….

It’s because they want to be special. I was one of them, it was pretty kewl being the go to guy. No torrents, no p2p, if you didn’t know someone in, you weren’t getting shit.

Now anyone and their brother can start pirating, but it’s not even for the same reasons. The groups aren’t doing this for free shit, they are doing it for respect and because in most cases it’s hard.

I still remember the day everything hit CNN for spiderman and star wars. literally overnight warez became something EVERYONE knew about. One of my irc movie channels for example, standard users was about 1000 at any given time. The day that report aired my channel jumped to 5-6000 and stayed there for weeks.

Every noob on the planet now knows that he can simply GOOGLE for pirate content and eventually get it.

With the p2p scene the way it is, it makes the groups less spectacular and special.

anyways, do what they want or don’t but don’t trash the group you HAVE to respect what they are doing.

Then again this group is 3 years old, a little hard to respect them paving the way if they started LONG AFTER TORRENTS.

still, rapidshare and others are now populair but i don’t use it… I was a part of the music scene (gabbermp3.org, maybe you know), but thats a lot different then. In those time, a friend was a part of the scene, and when i visited i see alot of kewl stuff. But he’s busted and must pay 25.000.000 euro, so lol. I’ve got things for the movie scene, but don’t know how to contact by irc or others.

Yeah my groups internal dvdripper (how releveant) got busted a few years back. He ended up settling and paying a reduced fine as they wanted to take him to the cleaners but the guy was freaking broke, if not for all the computer shit we gave him he’d probably be on welfare.

“I dont think they are saying that RLSLOG reviewing one of their rls will get them caught, its more like it will increase the chance of it happening.”

Can’t swallow that. Mpaa doesn’t go after groups being reviewed on sites. They go after anyone releasing specific titles.

Being reviewed here only means alot of people are now aware of yet another group that goes through all the trouble of making these releases but claims to not want them out.

simple simple solution my friends. ENCRYPTION.

If I was looking for the leak I’d setup an encrypted release and post it on all of my sites. Each site = different key.

Simply wait to see which keyed version gets released to public, then atleast you know which site is the problem. going further if you only give trusted group members the key it wouldn’t be hard to find the mole.

  15. Al
    April 11th, 2007 | 16:32

Oh lets say I’m a member of one of your sites, I download it, use my key to unencrypt it, and then release it on P2P. How would you now it’s me and not anyone else on the other sites with keys. Once unencrypted is untraceable.

If as phishy stated all these guys want is respect then thanks guys u do a good job, anyone though with a basic knowledge can copy a dvd, its the people who wrote the programs to do it with (eg dvd shrink, to name one) i have the real respect for ,The scene is up its own arse, I rarely dl scene releases or cams, i prefer full dvd rips, before u ask mostly region 3 , not scene just other collectors doing what p2p should be about sharing their love for films, Fuck the groups , fuck the scene, and before phishy answers with u wont have anything to dl without the scene, there r more films uploaded by collector than scene just look at demoniod 23000 films and still rising most of them r personal dvd rips done by normal people and not scene related arseholes.FUCK EM

  24. phishybongwaters
    April 11th, 2007 | 18:07

No we shouldn’t cater to a scene that hates us. It’s give and take. Now, from the way these guys went about it, I’ll give them respect, read the emails, they deserve respect.

But why follow rules that don’t apply to us? Nti is already doing alot by only releasing scene releases (except axxo) which is alot more than most public torrent sites.

“How would you now it’s me and not anyone else on the other sites with keys.”

Firstly, you’d need to have half a clue about how the scene works, which you don’t. And it’s called embedded watermark my friend. If these guys are so concerned it wouldn’t take but 1 release to trace the leak back to the specific site. From there any intelligent admin would simply check the times it was uploaded to public sites against their access logs.

Say your group uses 4 sites. You simply put up 4 different copies with different HIDDEN watermarks (ask netflix how). Obviously this isn’t going to narrow it down to 1 person but it WILL show you which site it’s coming from, from there any self respecting admin knows how to track it.

Could even be as simple as getting the IP logs of the uploader from the public site, sure they are hopefully using a proxie but do you think they actually take the time to reset it for every page they hit?

In any event what I said makes a hell of alot more sense then complaining here.

    @ J-Roc , first i love the nick if it’s a throwback to TPB ;)

Second, these guys don’t release pres or atleast I haven’t seen any of them. These guys stop releasing, which they won’t, it meants you’ll have to go to demonoid to get a dvdrip of reddawn instead of here.

    April 11th, 2007 | 19:02

I’d Rather stay within the collector side phishy not the scene releases, Your statements deride demoniod but where else can u find “Dark Night of the scarecrow” sitting next to “Death Note ” dvd rips not scene just good. All the scene care about is being first with a release.
I respect ur talking from experience being from the scene and all, but u must agree the elitsm that exists out there.
I prefer my film collectors sites , and not a dodgy cam with terrible sound and we’re supposed to be gratful. If its not for us, good they can have the shit 0 day cam copies ,the rest of us who collect film can have the full dvd rips thanks.

The so called “scene”and its members are another perfect example of losers exerting “power” and exclusivity. Clearly created for those who were always on the wrong side of the velvet rope at various clubs etc. Now they choose where to put the rope. It truly is ridiculous to complain of stolen warez being made ‘public’.
To PFa, and all you other selfish sceners; screw you. I hope you enjoy sitting in your bedrooms, hard drives spinning, hoarding your releases, is it really that satisfying owning a damn .avi file that isnt on a public torrent site?

Unless 1 person was on each of your sites(lol, I can’t stop laughting at this special needs person) it would be impossible to trace a video via watermarking. Logs wouldn’t help at all you clown. Fair play I have respect for those who release to the public, and of course to you guys at rlslog, but why do these bedroom warriors deserve respect. To be fair ripping a movie to 700mb with awesome pic quality and sound is an achievement, but as far as achievements go…… we aren’t talking about death bed life affirming stuff here are we. Getting it prerelease, well i know several people who have access to screeners etc, so that is no real achievement in itself, its just putting that guy at risk.

Mike, you and rlslog i have respect for. Sifting through the mountain of crap released and posted is a truly kind and awesome thing to be doing, its public.

So i ask you why they desevere any respect from we the torrentz/piratebay outsiders, when we are underserving of their warez?

just visit http://www.swedupe.com and check xvid section

search for some good old movies/classics and you will see that there is >100 if not much more groups that release internal stuff every day/night to scene…

all those group members not just share other works and call’em “sharing”.. those guys MAKE releases and bring it to scene

for most ppl, scene can described as “matrix”.. where virtual/fake world is stupid kidies/leechers that use p2p (virtual world) … real men and gurus are group members and use scene (real world where machines ruled)

All the scene bring r virus infested cracked programs , games that rarely work and shit quality cams filmed by morons who can’t set up their camera (autofocus off guys).

no have comments, because ppl who know what i said can understand and get a point… and share same opinion with me…

your words show that you nor even tried to understand “the scene”… and swedupe and other similar sites is nothing more than just a tracker site, where sceners and others can check dupes and recent releases… it’s more like a tool for ppl closed to scene than “scene”… if you find using google, you can find more sites like swedupe… two on most known is vcdquality and nforce, but this is not scene, this is mirror of scene -> leaked to public… at all those sites you can read what scene brings, but you can’t get most of that if not “in scene”… only part of stuff that leaked down to p2p

about viruses and others… it’s your display of inteligence if you visit “free” XXX and crack sites hunting for cracks and then gets tons of trojans/viruses.. this is NOT SCENE, you idiot! cams is cams… what you expect from cams, you not pushed to download cams movies, you can wait for tc/r5/dvdscr/dvdrip that always FIRST leaked from scene sources… cams is for idiots like you…. who think that axxo releases is COOL!!?!? eh?

I dont dl scene releases at all, i prefer full dvd rips , so sorry to piss on yr parade, if the scene died tomorrow, and i wish it would as all it populates r people like u, so far up the arse of the scene that THEY actually believe their own importance, Your the very example of why people prefer torrents and even limewire, filesharing is about a little give and take,
i hope they catch the sceners and it dies a bloody death, your atitude towards thinking people actually r bothered by the scene is laughable at the extreme and pathetic , get a life your really not that important and neither r these little boys pirating films, i collect movies upped by fans not after respect or to be the first, all these people want is to SHARE their love for films with people who feel the same, DVD rips dont come from scene their shop bought products , DEATH TO THE SCENE , LONG LIVE proper FIlE SHARING . As i said i DONT DL cams, i have newgroups accounts and no longer use them, I like phishybongwaters know the scene as i use to be involved in the days before Bittorrent was even a idea, yr so called elitism is sickening , recognition and respect is all it use to be about, not prevention.
Anyway off the download some nice dvd9 releases upped by fans, you can keeps yr dvdscr’s and r5’s ,i’d rather have the full product. And i buy the stuff i like too , after all it pays taxes so pricks like u can have a proper education.CUNT

    darioargento…
did you ever can imagine that most fullDVD releases also came from “scene”?

take a time and look how much new dvd’s released by scene…
scene preffer xvid for collecting all movies… but you still can find old movies from scene.. and 99% new blockbusters are released both in xvid-dvdrip / fulldvd format by scene groups..

now we have x264/aac encoded hdvd/brd movies at 720p/1080p with size 4.5gb-8gb… clean with protections… and to watch this you not need brand new monitor with hdmi.. just media player and aac/avc codec -> ALL FROM SCENE… and this is not because scene like public leak to p2p, just most scene groups don’t care too much about leaks down to p2p while other groups CARE… we must respect’em… even if we not like’ their state….

enable your x286 brain and try to understand something…

Very nice list, but none of them actually appeal to me , but i’m sure the groups would appreciate the extra exposure u just gave them.
As i’ve said before i only dl region 3 dvd9’s or dvd5’s that r upped by collectors who own the ORIGINAL DVD, I dont Dl scene releases, not from public trackers or private. Whilst your knowlegde of High Def cracking is impessive (we all have access to google by the way)its neither part or parcel to the point that i dont like what the scene stands for. I hope they close all the holes and go back to their enclosed networks, as your so obsessed with them maybe u should go with them to.

    xw0lf,

Are you really that stupid? Sceners are not like Doctors searching for the cure for cancer!. Anyone with a bit of computer knowledge could do the same. If every scene group disappeared tomorrow, within a week they would all be replaced by other people willing to share their collection.

    Well said MrTorch
Thats why i prefer sites like demoniod for the sheer choice of other people’s collections ,real film fans building a community based on sharing.
Let the scene disappear back to their older than the internet servers and let real fans unite in what we all love the most, finding that elusive title that is not available in our home countries. And seeding it so others can see it as well.

Here’s pretty much how this scene works.

    1. You get access to some iso of common interest that you shouldn’t have.
    2. You tell people in charge of a topsite that you have this file, and upload it.
    3. Now you’re allowed to download any of the other files off the site.

The motivation scheme is set up so that people who contribute content get access to more content, providing an incentive for people who post content to keep posting more. Often, pirates are members of multiple sites, and will do little more than post content from one site to the other all because they possess the special skill of being able to copy a file from one site to another. Does’nt sound too hard does it. Google a wonderful Tool. LOL

darioargento, what was your reason you don’t use your usenet accounts anymore??.Is it cost? Or you prefer torrents that much better. Not talking about scene bullshit releases now but from other collectors who seem to worhsip usenet.

It was cost, most of the stuff i wanted was’nt available at the time, and i did’nt see the point on paying on top of my isp fee’s for something they could’nt offer me.
Still have one account but its only a small useage account.
Demoniod had all the films i wanted , so i’ll continue to use them until i find something better.
