Peter Doherty – Grace-Wastelands-2009-404
The new debut solo album from English musician Pete Doherty called Grace / Wastelands has just been released. Most of the tracks on the album have been about for several years and are well known by fans but until now have been unreleased. The Album is due for release in a few days time.
Grace/Wastelands is the debut solo album from Babyshambles frontman Peter Doherty. It features contributions from Blur guitarist Graham Coxon, Dot Allison, and other members of Babyshambles. Most of the songs have been played live multiple times by Doherty, or feature in demo form on leaked sessions. The song “1939 Returning” was originally planned to be a duet with Amy Winehouse. The song “A Little Death Around the Eyes” was co-written with Carl Barât. “Broken Love Song” was co-written by and features Peter Wolfe (aka Wolfman) on guitar. The album is set to be released in the UK on 16 March 2009, with the single “Last of the English Roses” being released on 9 March 2009.

lol at some of u guys, i'm not a big fan of the guy but i actually quite like this album.
for a guy people has been predicted dead for years, he is hanging pretty well, thanks for the links.
The album is pretty decent imo, graham coxon collaboration gives it a nice touch, people judge him for the wrong reasons, but then again he is in the media.

Do I really need to listen to it? It's pretty obvious what I'm going to get is a mess of distorted, badly tuned guitars & feedback, together with uninspired bass riffs, and drums that would make Meg White sound like Neil Peart….

I'm not going to judge him cos he's a smackhead, cos he's stupid, or because in spite of his addiction, he exploits his celeb status to score in jail, and get let off for several drug-related offences that would send anyone else to prison without a second thought.
I'm judging him on the basis that every single piece of music that he's done so far has been garbage, and that fad mags like NME treat him like the new messiah of music.
Ha, trell you assuming idiot it's a mostly acoustic album. And you're just as big a fool for going from one extreme (messiah) to another (garbage). The fact is, he can write a bloody good tune! You'd have trouble finding a music critic anywhere, not just in NME, that disagrees with that.
