Perfect Stranger 2007 1080p BluRay x264-SZ

Okay guys, I know there are some of you hating the old movies released on HD, so here’s one for you guys: Perfect Stranger. It’s released in 2007 so it should be fine now :) It even is 1080p, wich means that this is the best quality you’ll get at this time. Take a look at it, me myself didn’t really like the movie (tough it has some neet actors in it) but hey: everybody’s taste is different. Oh, and people: it’s SUBBED! :)

Rowena Price is a muckraking reporter for a New York paper. When her story about a closeted gay Senator who preaches family values is spiked, she quits and soon finds herself investigating the grisly murder of a childhood friend. Her friend had been dumped by ad exec Harrison Hill, so he’s Rowena’s prime suspect. Rowena gets a job at the ad agency as a temp, and she’s soon the object of Hill’s attentions. She’s helped in her subterfuge by Miles Haley, a friend at the paper who has a secret thing for her. Everyone, it seems, has secrets, including Hill, who must keep his affairs from his wife – her money fuels his lifestyle. Murder will out?

    “Video Quality: 1080p (1920×800)”

    WoW! And I am running 1024×768 (max) on my 32″ LCD-HDTV :-P Gotta love that… Looks really nice if ya have the right resolution i guess.

    The problem with hi-def rips, aside from the time they take to DL, is that HD does not make a bad movie better. There is also no merit scene-wise, since the talent required to produce a good HD rip is no different from that required to produce a regular rip. It’s just a question of source upstream and choice of bitrate and resolution downstream. I might let myself be tempted for a really exceptional piece of cinema extraordinaire, but this movie? Puh-leeeze!

    Devious, could you please format your posts in a even more annoying manner? It’s nice that you paid attention to HTML 101, but none of us cares. Stop overusing italics and bold.

    @ #2 devious – I disagree. You are wrong about the talent required for an HD rip, it is tougher than a standard def rip.

    Also, your taste in films is horrendous. Please stop imposing your italicized opinions on others. There are many heterosexual guys that will enjoy seeing Halle Berry in all of her full, 1080p glory.

    Bram, nice post. We don’t see too many 1080p releases yet. And just wanted to point out that you spelled “neet” incorrectly. For future reference, its “neat”.

    Thanks again.

    Nice.. I liked this movie, so a full HD release is great!

    Although I must say it’s incorrectly named, since it’s SUBBED and DVD9, which aren’t in the release name, which they should be really. But aside from that and the fact it’s subbed, I love it.

    what exactly does “muckraking” mean?

  12. hibby
    October 8th, 2007 | 22:58

    Courtesy of Wikipedia:

    A muckraker is a journalist, author or filmmaker who investigates and exposes societal issues such as political corruption, corporate crime, child labor, conditions in slums and prisons, unsanitary conditions in food processing plants, fraudulent claims by manufacturers of patent medicines and similar topics.

    Muck = dirt, filth, mess
    +
    Rake = comb through, sift, stir up
    =
    Muckraking = stirring up (exposing) people’s dirty little secrets.

    Muckrakers are gossip columnists that suddenly take themselves too seriously. Like Rita Cosby, Kitty Kelly, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.

    :( 1080p won’t play on my comp. damn it all. And something quick, because I don’t have any experience with HD, how are some movies releases in 1080p, others 720p?

    if someone takes the time to download almost 7 gigs for a movie, there’s something wrong with them.

  17. JBricks
    October 9th, 2007 | 01:02

    The sad part is.. for a 1920×800 picture, a 6.6GB release gets you aXXo-like image quality for a hi-def movie. Higher def of course, but still.. its cutting out some quality

    It’ll take a good 10-12GB to get an excellent quality release.

  18. JBricks
    October 9th, 2007 | 01:12

    Thats for a 1920×800 of course.. Nothing bad on aXXo either.. but he cant match a 2CD for standard def

    @jared

    What, are you still using dial-up? Or are you just paying for the cheapest/slowest internet plan you could find?

    With a normal 10Mbit/sec download line, it just takes a few hours to download this torrent. Grow up, or more accurately, pay up.

    @Michael – You’re lumping Woodward and Bernstein in as gossip columnists?

    Please leave the thinking to smart people.

    How do i convert AVI to Blu-Ray 1080p? I want to convert couple movies from AVI to Blu-Ray 1080p such as Transformer because it’s not going to be release on Blu-Ray, only HD-DVD. I hope rlslog are going to do it.

  25. October 9th, 2007 | 06:16

    @25:
    LOL so you think you can just convert any movie to 1080p HD?
    Do some more research man :’)!

  26. kasuza
    October 9th, 2007 | 07:13

    I did some research. I was converted “Transformer: The movie” from avi to 1080p 4096kbps by using PS3 9. The quality is not as good as true Blu-Ray. I used different methods and softwares but never come out as good as Blu-Ray 1080p

    October 9th, 2007 | 07:50

    @kasuza

    You silly person. You can not transcode an avi that is not already 1080p up to 1080p. You can upconvert the avi to 1080p but it will never look as good as an origianl 1080p source because it didnt start out that way.

    Sorry. Now stop using the computer until you learn what you’re doing.

    @17 I downloaded Natural Born Killers’ director’s cut version with alternate endings with its 9gigs (standard dvd). Of course something is wrong with me, because I did this with my 1Mb net :p

  29. desperado
    October 9th, 2007 | 08:50

    kasuza, you’ve lost it man. This reminds me of those dumb TV shows where some fabulous piece of software “enhances” some CCTV image to make the content totally recognizable. It just ain’t gonna happen bro. Suppose you start with 2 pixels; how are you going to turn that into hi-def? Use your brain; you can’t make more pixels our of less. Sheesh!

  30. desperado
    October 9th, 2007 | 08:54

    @29. Depends how badly you want it. It’s a free world right? I’ve got 30Mb cable and it took 30 hours to get a 3.6GB file with a favorable seed/peer ratio with about 70 seeds. Good Luck.

  31. thug_angel
    October 9th, 2007 | 15:03

    damn! my monitor can’t even do 1920 :(

  32. zugzug
    October 9th, 2007 | 16:14

    Surely if this movie was 1080p then it would need to be a resolution of 1920×1080. As the quoted resolution is 1920×800 then its only slightly better than 720p but stretched a bit wider.

    Sure the source could of been 1080p but I doubt that a 6gb movie has that kind of quality.

  33. gav616
    October 9th, 2007 | 20:57

    @desperado

    you must have been using a public tracker if it took you that long to download a 3.6GB torrent. private trackers regularly get up to 2Mbit/sec dowload speed.

  34. desperado
    October 9th, 2007 | 21:54

    @gav616
    Yes, you’re right. I’ve been too lazy to look into private trackers, I must confess ;-)

    not sure what part of the world you live in, but once you get fiber installed in your cave, you’ll understand that not all of the internet is as slow as your connection.

    @gav616

    Ahhh…my bad. I’d use more private trackers but I’d rather NOT piss away half my monthly limit seeding. It’s a pretty sh!t trade-off IMO.
