ReeGed has told you all you need to know about this movie earlier, when ARiSCO released a seemingly high-quality DVDRip. Unfortunately, it’s been nuked later on: [not.retail_bad.crop_pixelation]. The good news is, PUKKA released this awesome R5 in great video quality. Can’t say as much for the audio, it’s lower than the standard at only 123kbps. Synopsis: Penelope is a magical modern-day fairytale about love and self-acceptance. PENELOPE WILHERN (Christina Ricci), born to wealthy socialites (Catherine O’Hara and Richard E. Grant), is afflicted by a secret family curse that can only be broken when she is “loved by one of her own kind.” Hidden away in her family’s estate, the lonely girl is subjected to meeting a string of blue-bloods through her parent’s futile attempts to break the curse.

    The ARiSCO release looks good to me. i flipped through the movie on Media Player and it looks fine. i’m going to fire up ConvertXtoDVD now. sorry, PUKKA.

    Bleez you don’t know much about audio encoding, eh? “Can’t say as much for the audio, it’s lower than the standard at only 123kbps” – this is rather stupid
    i would say this is standard bitrate, almost all movies (in stereo) have audio bitrate between 120-130, and i have the impression that you think there is a difference between 124, 126, 130, etc. well there is none, especially considering that it changes in time dynamically
    the important thing here is the source…

    @25 i dont think meet the browns will be worth watching i read the reviews said madea wasn’t even in the movie for but 5 minutes i think its the scene that she says “ima be on cops” then it goes into madea goes to jail and she is in the whole movie. (well play) movie is in the making….

    Apologies to all the sad nerds who spend their time on the site complaining and bitching about why this or that editor said something incorrect or stated a fact they don’t agree of.

    It would be nice if you could keep all that anger building inside, which is obviously a result of real-life frustrations, and instead, make useful comments about the film itself.

    there is a minor improvmenmt side by side, for both releases, hardly worth nuking pixilation comes 20 sec’s into credits not during teh movie, i.ve just watched it, loads of cameos in it

    We’re not making angry comments.. But to be honest of course we are going to complain when an editor talks about the quality of a release and says something that is just plain wrong.

    You can’t post a review on a release and say the audio is of low quality when it isn’t. It’s the editors job to post accurate information. (or at least correct it after his mistake is pointed out)

    All that aside, video is better on the PUKKA.

    The R5 of Vantage Point will be out soon with English audio; The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep is available on DVDRip (in Russia too); 27 Dresses and The Bucket List are available from DVDScreeners, Cloverfield will be released on R5 next month, I suppose the same for 10,000 B.C and Fool’s Gold.

    Ok guys to clear up the mess about this movie…

    Penelope.DVDRip.XviD-ARiSCO is nuked for pixelation

    Penelope.R5.XViD-PUKKA is nuked for being a mislabeled proper of the ARiSCO and a dupe but a DIRFIX should fix this….

    The PUKKA release is the best out there as the former is nuked for pixelation while this release only has release nukes ;)
