If this is SUCH a bad movie, why does it has 7,4 on IMDB and 76% on rotten tomatoes? Gus Van Sand is a GREAT director, and he doesn’t make action movies or comedies. So if your favorite director is Michael Bay don’t keep posting for this movie.

cos people pretend to like it. and because you dont like this doesnt mean you dont like art films or dramas, i hate it cos it sucked, not becuase of no action, i knew what i was getting into, or thought i did, Murder of a guy…… no an hour and a half of people saying “hey” and “yeah” they hired the cast mostly from myspace! i mean i wouldnt even speak to anyone who uses myspace, the goth girl who speaks to him about reading the newspaper is the WORST!

This was truly a horrible movie, Gus Van Sant’s ego trip, he should have never released this to the public, the scene where the kid is driving in his car for 10 minutes, i mean come on, who the hell want’s to look at a kid driving a bloody car for 10 minutes, and the dialogue looks as if improvised by the kids, i wouldn’t be surprised if they did.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT, you will never get that 1 hour and 20 minutes of your life back.
Well, i haven’s seen it yet but when i do i’ll post my opinion. “Elephant” and “Last days” where also very slow but they where also very good.

This movie sux! I D/L’d it a few weeks ago and brought it to work. People were; a)asleep, b)pissed-off, or c)throwing sh*t at me for bringing it in! They couldn’t sit through it even though they were being paid a high hourly rate to be there! D/L something better, like “Primal”. (NO! I’m kidding, that one sux *almost* as much…)

I see the word ‘PROPER’ on releases nowadays more than i like to. People need to get it right first time or they just get known for their rushed crap releases rather than their ’scene firsts’.
Its sad that people are so quick to criticise something that is not of their taste, and sadder that most of the commenters’ taste is childish enough to reject anything that’s not in-your-face hollywood commercial crud. If you loved Transformers, you won’t like anything by Lynch or Van Sant. Or Donnie Darko. Or Eternal Sunshine.
But just because you don’t get it, doens’t mean the film is bad. Some films require you to think, not just be told everything. Interesting concept, huh?

This movie is typical Van Sant. So if you didnt like elephant, you wont like this. I thought it was great, and as always Gus does a great job filming the world as it really is. Also as with Elephant, all the actors are NON actors, picked out of a small towns high school, and knowing this, they do a rather good job. If you like action or boobies or bombs or car chases or anything lame hollywood style, this movie is not for you. But if you like to think, and want to see how life is for kids today, watch this movie…
final note - Gus Van Sants movies are about reality, and if you have a brain and watch closely, you will notice many things and messages he trys to get across on the screen. For example, he shows how parents dont give 2 fu*cks about their kids in todays brainwashed corporate media society, or how easy it is for kids to get guns and take out their angst on fellow classmates (elephant) . One of the best directors of all time..
If you dont like this movie, try spiderman 3, or debbie does dallas, or something with guns and explosions and FAST CARS, homg…. Then take a prozac or ridlin and self reflect on how much of a douche sheep you are, lol… amen

If you where to walk into a high school, you would feel like you where in the movie elephant, or paranoid. This is what the director is going for, a little thing called “reality”. Movies like Transformers, or DIE HARD, or spiderman, are what is called “unrealistic”, thought all the cars and bombs and sex can keep someone with the mindspan of a flea interested. Saddly we live in a world where most or the majority falls into this catagory, and for the same reason we have goverments killing people on live TV (9/11) and that same majority sits by and even votes for these same people to be in power.
Basicly, if you believe 9/11 was pulled off by a handfull of turbins Vs Trillion dollar defence, then you will not like this movie, as you are what we in the knows like to call “sheep”. If you know the truth from simple observation and commen sense, then you might like this movie.
Personally i would be embarrassed with myself if i was one of you.

I enjoyed this movie, had a very similar feel to “elephant”. It does seem to be an acurate portrayal of life as a teenager today, although I couldn’t say for sure ’cause I’m too old now.
One thing I will say is that I felt it lacked closure and conclusion, I would have preferred a more definate ending as in “elephant”.
If you didn’t like it fair enough.

I found the audio terrible. In the opening scene the music cuts in and out, although I wasn’t sure if this was intentional or not. But then later in the film, some of the dialogue sounds really ‘clipped’, usually in the quieter moments. Is this a problem with this rip, or is it generic to the film itself?
