Paragon Total Defrag v2009 Retail-FOSI

Well known FOSI group came up with retail copy of Paragon Total Defrag version 2009, which helps you to defrag your HDD’s.

Description: File system starts out with all or most of its files contiguous, and becomes more and more fragmented as a result of the file creation and deletion over the time. Thus files and their parts become spread all over the hard disk, which follows the delays in the hard disk work and further lower performance. Total Defrag 2009 is a new comprehensive product for total file system defragmentation and optimization. Built on original Paragon technologies, it performs complete low-level defragmentation that provides almost zero fragmentation level.

Total Defrag 2009 allows you to:

  • Perform a complete low-level defragmentation that provides almost zero fragmentation level.
  • Speed up and optimize all critical system files and metadata including MFT (Master File Table), directories, paging files, registry hives and others.

    anyway, i’m not sure if this is the best prog to use for defragging. but i am actually in need of a good defragger!

    so can anyone recommend a better prog?
    a) free alternative
    b) commercial alternative

    @7 jingasaw not a bad proggy for beginners. better than microsofts one anyways.

    there are other defraggers out there. like UltimateDefrag, disk-keeper etc for more precise optimisation of certain files/folders etc.

    I love paragon 8.5 enterprise for partition/disk imaging. Best program of its kind and it does both in one program (no need to load two different apps like Acronis).

    So I might give this one a try for defragging as well.

    Nothing beats PerfectDisk… DiskKeeper seemed good till I found that it will not run if you kill the process that it makes run 24-7 on your machine… PD never needs a reboot for any reasons and all the processes can be killed and it will still start up when you need it… also does a great job on systems files!

    Worthless needs reboots just like the version that comes with partition manager… stay with Perfect Disk you can’t go wrong!

    @28: it must reboot to defrag system used files, such as mft, pagefile etc. Perfect Disk, oo defrag and ultimate defrag also must reboot when defragging them…

    kon1@verizon.net give jk defrag,a try.It requires no installation,it’s a genious product.All of this products(diskeeper,raxco,perfect disk,disk trix,O&O) except Paragon,use Microsoft Api(in english this means you’ll get the same result,but each use it’s own starategy).Actually this one from Paragon uses a propietary technology different from but i have no clue how good it is.

    actually, i think total defrag is the best one around, the speed increase ive seen with this is way biggger than with UD and its simpler. all you do is choose the following options, directories first, sort by modification date: decending and tick the box not to deal with pagefile data.

    u will find its sorted and defragged all the normally locked out windows files that most progs cant access and it even moves the pagefile right to the outer edge of the disc.

    lol @ these crappy bloated defraggers. Just boot your comp from your windows cd/dvd, enter command line mode (recovery) and run jkdefragcmd.exe -a 7. Thats a full alphabetic sort with no locked files. Nothing else can touch it.

    I think @34 had a point, but more directly, Diskeeper is the company that supplies Microsoft with their generic version of Diskeeper in XP and probably Vista, just like the started using Bitdefender for virus control, callin it what; Defender?.
    So basically, yeah, you are getting the standard crap XP defrag engine
