For linux/xp/vista dual or triple booters, use dd in linux. It will copy your entire disk, bit by bit, preserving all partitions 1:1 with boot capability. It can copy individual partitions, folders, files etc – it’s data forensic strength all for no cost.

FOSI used to ALWAYS release the new version of Partition Magic way back in the day.

If the h4xors are smart enough to move on from the soon to be bloated Norton version, I think the rest of us should take a hint too.

if someone is able to get the recoveryCD actually booting their computer up, plz inform me how they achieved it. for me, all i get is a hanging system if i try to boot from the recCD, and yeah i HAVE to, cuz no other way to resize partitions under Vista x64. it just bugs the hell outta me – why isn’t it working???

this is way better than partition magic. i had xp installed first on my laptop, and recently install vista on another partition. the vista partition was too small, and i was beginning to like vista over xp. so i wanted to redistribute some of the space from xp to vista. that was the hardest thing to do with partition magic. further more the damn thing cant run from vista. i had to download gparted, and that is one hell of a program(good but very complicated). the damn thing takes to long. i finally finish redistributing the space but had to format xp from the partition, then my laptop would not boot, and when i finally got it started again, i installed this and just like that i get to fully allocate all my disk space to vista (even got more that what partition magic was allotting for the drive).

long story short, i would recommend gparted, if you got the time, but this is the way to go.

After installing and running this program once on my notebook with Vista Business, it died and would never restart.

Sent notebook back to manufacturer and they detected a serious virus infection.

Notebook was running perfectly until I used this app.

Same results… I’ve come across this before and when it does, I know I wont be able to extract. Maybe happens 1 out of 10 times. Extracting results in another unextractable rar. When I double click on any of the rar’s, it shows me the rar and the two infofiles.

That’s strange. You should only need to unrar it once, resulting in an executable file and two infofiles. Try downloading again, I suggest.

uh sorry.. but how do you extract? Using winrar it extracts a rar file. extracting that rar results in an error message. looks like its looking for a r00 file….
